National Under 18 Championships - 2015

Can't see us drafting anyone in the first round this year. We'll trade it. -
Fair enough.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 12

Stop whinging. It's not PJ's fault. And bloody support your club or give it up. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 12

IMO, they're seriously on par. -
Given the guys that are coming back in, surely that's not it. Hogan injured his back last season. It takes time to build up the muscles after an injury like that.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 12

They were a horrible combo. We got smashed every time. Gawn cannot play forward. Defenses rebound off him like nobody's business. -
I'm intrigued by Fitzy's fall from the team. Surely he's worth a game? Jordie won't offer us anything in the midfield. At least Fitzy might up forward or back. I dread to think of our forward structure this weekend. Doesn't make sense.

Love 'First Date'. And I mean as back up. We shall see. He went in there last week and he could go in there again. -

Hawkins will walk all over us, but I'd play Howe in the ruck. Seriously. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 12

We were always going to bring Dawes in. We need another KPF to support Jesse. Viney already gives away too many free kicks. Vince to Selwood for mine. Make Selwood accountable, because Bernie will kick goals on him if he's not. -
Delistings/trades at end of the season
Adam The God replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Forget about the draft. We will be trading, methinks. -
To be fair, I'm not sure this has been the message since Roos arrived. He, Taylor and Viney have gone about their business efficiently and quietly.
-
Not to mention all the contests that he brings the ball to ground in, allowing others such as Garlett to feed off. This is going to be ugly. Something like 50 to 120.

Thank you mfc, Celia McDonald and Jesse Hogan
Adam The God replied to markc's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was hoping this thread was about how the MFC had tied Jesse to the club by setting him up with Tom McDonald's sister. Ah well. Still a nice story nevertheless. I also like his comment about four years time too. -
As far as I'm aware, the players get training on that sort of thing and are strongly advised not to read that stuff.
-
He was having a lot of work done on his back during the intervals last week. I suspect it's just cautionary.
-
Jack, we tanked once and obviously now we're not. Other clubs did it too and went unpunished. It's a bloody joke, but let's move on.

Tapscott always looked like a footballer, but never played like one. I don't recall him ever playing a really good game. He may have been involved in a good passage of play or a good moment here or there, but he never even played a good game. I'm sorry it probably sounds harsh, but he was never 'in' the game. Toumpas was one of the best players on the ground the other day. I'm not saying his game was the greatest game in the history of the sport, but the Tapscott comparison is just rubbish.
-
If this is true, we will struggle to score 5 goals, let alone 7. What a pity it would be, because they're not actually that strong on paper. No Pedersen either. So it'll have to be Dawes and probably Fitzy in the forward 50. So ordinary, my god.
-
Tapscott never did, so I don't think the comparison is apt at all. Jimmy's game against St Kilda was so far and away better than anything Tapscott ever delivered that it isn't even funny.
-
Don't know much about White. Perhaps he's worth a go. I dread to think how a Terlich would go.
-
Looking at our (potential) back six this week, doesn't fill me with much hope. In fact, it tells me that we're going to give up at least 10 goals to turn over off half back and inside defensive 50. Dunn and Jetta are really the only two that can kick it. However, I'm going down there for the sixth straight year. It's going to be ugly. Hoping we can string some good footy together though and tackle ferociously.
-
That just says Howe is defeatist. What a horrible attitude to have. If we got a first rounder for him we'd be laughing.
-
And this tells me that you're utterly scared by the past, OD. Do you remember what things were like when we played under Neeld? We wouldn't have got within 10 goals of St Kilda yesterday. That's where we're coming from. It's absolute BS to suggest we haven't come very far. We've still got a long way to go though.
-
Some people don't like it tough either. For me, it's character building and it'll make success all the more worth it. I was ropeable yesterday, but I'm finding following Melbourne is getting easier. Okay, so we do that to our supporters yesterday, but for the first time in years, I can clearly see the future. Hogan, Brayshaw, Viney, Salem, Tyson, Tommy Mac, Vanders, Toumpas and Watts. These guys are all young. Watts is the oldest at 24. We have Petracca waiting in the wings and some would say we could add Frost and Kent to that list. Personally, I think that's premature on those guys, but I trust the FD, particularly Roos and McCartney. So that's 12. I'm sure we'll add another two or three good players in the off season and by the time Roos leaves, Goodwin will have a really, really good young list.
