  1. Exactly. This is what pisses me off the most. I'd be fine with clubs who didn't oppose us getting PPs applying, but what hypocrisy otherwise. Particularly, when they opposed it last [censored] year.
  2. And we're about to break FItzroy's losing record over the last decade.
  3. How do we know JKH is very coachable? Has that been said somewhere?
  4. Gawn is not better than Nik Nat. Ridiculous. Nik Nat is however a flawed player, but his tap work this year has been excellent. Far more consistent than Gawn too.
  5. He's not quick, he's not great at positioning himself in the right areas. His strengths so far has been his agility, but he's shown nothing this season.
  6. Roosy intimated we played like millionaires against Brisbane on AFL 360. 'You try the outside kick, you try the dinky little kick up over the top' etc. He went on to say he didn't like it. I thought that's exactly how we played against the Druggies too. We're too fancy at times. A few occasions where Hogan turned the ball over were those dinky little kicks and he's certainly not the only one. I also felt some of our players (forwards in particular) were a little too unselfish at times. If you're on 50 and there's not a team mate in the goal square by himself, you don't try finessing it through the eye of a needle to a team mate inside 50, you kick the bloody goal.
  7. I'm sure there are others, but they'd be in the minority these days. There would be probably a few who identify with their 'Christian roots' as we call them in this thread, but it's doubtful they practice. But then, they're perhaps just as legitimate Christians as the ones who go to Church once or twice a week.
  8. No. He's a Queenslander. Doesn't mean anything though. I'd take him. May as well take Dangerfield and Prestia as well. Thank you very much. Unfortunately, the problem with Christianity and most religions is that they can be interpreted in any way. This can be good, but it can equally be incredibly dangerous. Everyone is well within their right to practice or not practice any faith they wish. That decision should be done to the individual, but there can't be any denying that religion has been the route of just about every war in the past 100 years, with perhaps the exception of the Vietnam and Korean Wars. Yeah, I'm not sure Sydney are as shrewd as they once were under Roos.
  9. I doubt it... Which shows a lack of understanding on their parts, given that Catholicism is a tradition of the Christian faith.
  10. I think you might have taken over the mantel of most negative poster on Demonland in the last few weeks. Well done.
  11. This thread has the makings of the Dangerfield thread from last year.
  12. Pretty natural for our generation, mate. We're all pretty in touch with our feelings. That read like one of my texts to my guy mates.
  13. We've had a few. McCartney, Brayshaw and Garlett (and possibly Goody). Love 'em.
  14. He's effective. Don't play with it. It's about building endurance. There's a difference...
  15. Unfortunately, with your 8 posts, Mr Cardwell, you won't be taken particularly seriously on this one.
  16. This, I believe, is all related to the confidence he has in his back and hamstrings. It's all linked. I have no concerns about Jesse's ability to lengthen his set shot kicking once his body is right. Until then, he's a beautiful set shot from 40-45m, on most angles. ANB. I was surprised he missed it. He's been shown to be a lovely set shot.
  17. Sorry, mate. Was out for dinner. He went in under duress and they were saying he wouldn't have played had it not been Maddie's match. I'd say he'll miss next week, then again I didn't expect him to play this year. So he could well come up for next week.
  18. Gawn's tap work was rubbish for three quarters last week. Today he was very good.
  19. I wonder how St Kilda being spanked today will influence the game next week. The Saints rarely play at the 'G either.
  20. Doesn't really remind me of Grimes at all. He's a beautiful kick and makes good decisions. Was outpositioned a few times today, but he'll learn.
  21. So Prestia's gone from a B grader to an A+ grader in a week, in your calculations, mate?
  22. We were decent defensively, but what I noticed about the Lions' zone is that they never (at least consistently) moved their defensive zone over about 25 metres of where the ball was. This meant that so often we could kick over their zone simply by hitting up a short target. It was like playing an under 12s side that all cluster near the ball carrier. It also meant that either the Lions' players weren't working hard enough or Leppitsch is a rubbish coach (or both).
