  1. Jay Clark is a hack. That is all.
  2. 5-7 goal loss if we're lucky. It shouldn't be, but we don't look like challenging top 8 sides at the moment. Having said that, I do expect us to steal a game we don't expect. I'm just not sure this is the one. I hope I'm wrong.
  3. Will look great in a Melbourne jumper. Gawn, Viney, Prestia and Tyson, with support from Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw, Jones and Vince. Add an Andrew Gaff type and that's an A grade midfield.
  4. Gee, I know he didn't do a lot against us, but I really rate Peter Wright. He is going to be a star if he continues on this trajectory.
  5. Well, that's clearly untrue, because Tommy Mac is an attacking defender with horrible decision-making, who struggles to hit regular targets. I take it you're referring to Garland here. His problem is that he's not attacking enough. His instinct isn't to attack and when your offensive weapon is your ball transition from defence, a player like that isn't long for that game plan.
  6. The selection decisions are fine. Garlett back is handy, but he certainly didn't find form in the 2's. Reckon he's the sort of player that needed a kick up the bum, but will repay the faith on Sunday. He's a talented player. Grimes is too limited as a player and Clarry hasn't been as effective since his first 5 to 6 games. Give him a run in the 2's and he'll be back soon. Hoping Harmes converts his bounce back at VFL form to the big league. Kent and Kennedy in the gun again this week.
  7. That O'Shea contest a moment ago was a freekick every day of the week. Wasn't even looking at the ball.
  8. Usually give us a chance against interstate sides on the G, but reckon we'll get smacked this week. Desperately need Viney to play... obviously.
  9. The club almost always holds off announcing re-signings until a controlled moment. It's all about PR.
  10. Oivey. Abe has great sources. Pipe down.
  11. He's far more likely to stay with us than go. So no, you're a pessimist.
  12. Damn, opened this thread in the small, futile hope of reading that O'Meara was coming. :D
  13. No doubt Grimes plays two more games this season, but people need to let go of the idea that he'll be playing in the red and blue next year. Unless of course it's on the rookie list, but doubt he'd stay there.
  14. No one said we were in the hunt for Shiel. His name was proffered as an example of a player who you'd trade for. And is that a bit of defence mechanism there, PF? Why aren't we a shot at landing Prestia? We've been close previously and we're a far more desirable destination nowadays.
  15. I'm glad Jack isn't getting a game, because he makes us a more unreliable football side.
  16. Yeah, Shiel's a gun. He's been more consistent than all of them.
  17. It would take a Prestia, Crouch, Shiel type to trade Salem, IMO. I reckon we should be trying to trade Prestia for our future first rounder and if Dion wants to come 'home'/MFC, I reckon the Suns will take the deal. FWIW, I'd like to keep Salem and I hope he gets back on the park next year, but if you could grab Prestia for a first rounder and someone like Crouch or Shiel is on the table, I'd trade to get two young gun mids. It's all about needs and the ceiling of the players we're talking about. Is Salem's ceiling higher than Crouch or Shiel? Would Crouch or Shiel add more to our team than Salem? They'd be the questions our FD would be asking. You have to give up something good in these scenarios.
  18. To be perfectly honest, I like him as a player and his potential, but if the price was right, I'd trade Salem.
  19. Agree to disagree. Wheels was a solid foot soldier who was great to watch for his toughness, but with the exception of the last weeks, Jetts has hardly lost a one-on-one for over a season. Wrecker never went on a streak like that. But as I say, each to their own.
