  1. He's been just as worse on a number of occasions at the MFC and Roos has never called him out before. I'm inclined to believe they're lifting the standards and expectations at the club, which I'd hope is the case in Roos' third season.
  2. Let me ask you this, mate. Has Dawes taken enough marks under Roos? Has Dawes kicked enough goals under Roos? If your answer to either of those questions is 'no', then I think we ostensibly agree with each other.
  3. Have we won off a six day break yet this year? And I'm a bit surprised on Roos' comments RE: Dawes. He played pretty much as he has done the whole time under Roos. He's barely taken a mark, his man runs off him repeatedly and he fails to hit the scoreboard reguarly. Is it a case of Roos lifting his standards or is it that there's more competition for spots these days, which is linked to the raising of the bar anyway?
  4. Lol. Of course we're having a crack at Prestia. Channel 7 news was the source of this. It's amusing how readily people will believe news sources, but I was always taught to question everything.
  5. Not at the moment, but if Melksham can provide the run Hunt does at the moment, I'd give Hunt stints on the wing next year.
  6. In theory I wouldn't mind Taylor, but it'd be about satisfying the Lions and as Abe says, I'm not sure we'd be able to. However, I think what we'll see in the next 2-3 seasons are opposition players signing with us for less, because they can the direction we're going in. Obviously, in this instance, it's more about satisfying his original club. Quietly confident we'll have a cracking trade period though, which will set us up for the 8 next year. By the end of 2017, opposition players will be talking about wanting to come to Melbourne. Our midfield is going to be seriously good. If Maxy can stay fit, our window should open up in 2018-2019.
  7. Paranoid. You bring up the Bulldogs, but don't mention Libba?
  8. A couple got around him, but I was more referring to the goal he created just before it. It was brilliant. I'm tempted to watch the replay just to see it again.
  9. Saw him at Sydney Airport sitting by himself with his burger. He seems to be a quiet kind of guy. Even when he brilliantly created those two goals against the Crows, barely anyone went to him. Get around him, boys! He's gonna be a ripper. I love his surprising ability to spoil. He judges the ball really well in the air.
  10. And there's no problem here, but I'd play Spencer instead of Dawes. Spencer is more likely to kick goals, he's also more likely to take marks and I wouldn't be surprised if Spencer (who is surprisingly fast) is quicker. Dawes' man runs off him anyway, as long as it's not super wet, I'd be playing Spencer until Pedo is fit and/or Hulett or Weideman is ready.
  11. Unfortunately, he'd only get games during the NAB Challenge.
  12. Jetta was playing this role. Not sure how long he played it, but I noticed it a couple of times.
  13. I'm still waiting for the day when a bloke who's almost played 100 games eradicates stupid, dumb decisions from his game. I know KPPs take longer, but I reckon we go too easy on Tom. He's certainly not an A grader with his unreliability with ball in hand. Take Frost for example. Makes some silly errors, but his decision-making is improving each week. Is Tom's? It's almost as if he hasn't learnt anything in his 80+ games.
  14. Continuing to develop reasonably well at AFL level.
  15. It was interesting seeing us pinning them inside our forward 50. We'd have everyone inside 50 except Jetta and then Hunt and another in a triangle. As for the Diamond Defence, it was particularly noticeable today and certainly, Petracca and Kent started at half back quite often.
  16. Just another totally out of touch comment from Leigh Matthews. That bloke is embarrassing these days and has been for quite a while now. You can't tell me if you took out Gawn, we be doing as well in the clearances.
  17. Well, it is a rule. How so many people go to the footy and lack a basic understanding of the rules is beyond me. Also, Bernie missed that goal anyway and should have known better than to run through the mark. This isn't an attack on you necessarily jnr, but so many of the people in the members that I was sitting around today just had absolutely no idea.
  18. Lost it in the first quarter. Gave up those three easy goals and that was basically the margin in the end. Nathan Jones got a lot of it, but was so sloppy by hand and foot. Either putting team mates under pressure or often missing targets. Gawn was terrific in patches, but lapsed at a few crucial moments.Kennedy attacked it hard a couple of times, but made some poor errors and missed some easy shots. Hunt, Jetta, Frost, Jeffy and Watts were our best. Special mention to Matt Jones, who was pretty good, except for his comical turnover that resulted in the final goal. It'll be interesting to see if he's done enough to get another contract. Harmes and Bugg will be fringers in a year's time. Reckon Trac was stuffed by the second half. Hogan needs to play in front more often, because almost every time he does, he gets rewarded with a free kick. Edit. And Dawes. He kills us. He never takes pressure off his team mates by taking contested marks and rarely hits the scoreboard. They may well delist at the end of the year, but more likely he'll be given a reduced contract for a year or two and will rarely play once Hulett and Weideman come into the team.
  19. A much better quarter from Kent, but Gawn stepped up and Hunt is going to be a star. He hasn't had it lots, but he directly created two important goals in that second term. Nathan Jones needs to stop putting team mates under pressure and kick those crucial goals. Need more from Jesse too. Want a big quarter from the very clean Truck. Dawes is killing us.
  20. I reckon there were at least 3 goals we gave to them from poor turn overs. Unless we dramatically improve our disposal this will be a 7 to 10 goal loss. Kent is a very, very average footballer.
  21. I have a bigger problem with the time that this match is being played. If it's not on FTA, why the heck is it a 3.20 and not a 1.10 or 2.10 game? The reason for the 3.20 games are so coverage flows into 7 News, but if they don't have the coverage... what, it flows into Bounce in Fox? Rubbish.
  22. And what if we offer less? What's to say he won't chose us? If he wants to get to Melbourne, he will.
