  1. Watching the replay now and I'll tell you what has really improved. Tyson's tackling is phenomenal. He is becoming a terrific player. Really looking forward to seeing him up in Sydney next too.
  2. That's actually what I liked so much about his game again today. His first instinct as a defender is to attack. He is the new breed of Melbourne defender. Gets the defensive job done and turns the play into an offensive one straight away. This is clearly how our FD want our defenders playing, hence Garland and Dunn being out.
  3. It gives me the shits. Sounds like a library almost every week. I feel like I'm the only one out there shouting every week.
  4. Agreed. He's making his way nicely.
  5. Oh yes. Of course. Another great day from Dom Tyson too. If he can play at this level for the next 12 games, he'll be A grade by the end of the year.
  6. One of the best games he's played for the club. He wasn't brilliant, but he certainly earned his spot. If he can hit the scoreboard, he'll be worth another year. Humble pie consumed.
  7. The midfield is clearly the area that still needs reinforcements if we're going to win a flag. Our ball use could still be drastically improved. People need to stop talking about Hurley and start talking about Prestia, Neale, Crouch etc. They're the guys we need.
  8. I know their forwardline is incredibly ordinary, but our talls looked superb today and will hopefully gain some terrific experience on the big stage from that. Frost needs to eradicate those brain fades, but his body work and judgement of the ball drop was fantastic. Omac continues to improve and his spoiling is a real asset. Even Tom was great today. I love Wagner's composure. Strangely, my favourite boy Jetts played his worst game since becoming the leading small defender in the competition under Roos. Hunt needs to learn to kick or handball on his left side if the situation demands it. Anyway, I thought our defensive systems worked very well today and the McDonald's and Frost held up brilliantly against extremely tall opposition. Gawn easily best afield. The less said from me about Bernie's 42 touches the better.
  9. Continues to play solid footy. Needs to build his core strength, but he'll get there.
  10. Made a couple of really poor errors, but seems to mostly have the speed of the game. The one other thing I would say is he's not quite up to the speed of our ball movement, but that will come. Great to see him kick that goal. Hope he can run out the four quarters today.
  11. Just the one brain fade, but otherwise a very good first half.
  12. Yeah, Truck looks amazing. A big game player. How was that goal?! So exciting.
  13. Not perfect, still error riddled, but the ball movement was far more decisive that quarter. If we can tidy up our ball use and decision making we'll blast them away.
  14. That was utterly disgraceful. The ball use, the overuse. We gave them a sniff. They didn't touch it for the first 10 minutes and we butchered the ball.
  15. Viney also can't break a tag yet. With more players shouldering the load, it means team's cannot afford to tag any one player. Neale alongside Prestia and Viney would be a small but amazing contested ball team with pace on the outside too.
  16. Wondering why people think we're cooling on Prestia. I reckon the deal is more likely done and we're moving on to adding more talent.
  17. Just a matter of consistency with Dom before he solidifies his A grade status and with Viney being tagged, it means he and Oliver will prove to be really troublesome for oppositions. You can't tag them all.
  18. I love Jack, but mostly on a sentimental level. There's no way he's an elite player. I'm sorry. That word is bandied around a little too much. I watched him in 2010 and 2011. He was a promising youngster with good skills, good decision making and a ferocious attack at the ball and man. I hope he can become a solid role player back there. I don't see him in our midfield though. At least not on the front line, but he's a smart footballer and I hope that gets him through. Oliver will be our Sam Mitchell. Trenners has never won it enough to be a Mitchell type player.
  19. No, thanks. It's been said before. Pretty much the only reason we'd go after him is sentimentality.
  20. Don't get me wrong. I'm a Crouch fan, but I was just intrigued where you'd heard it. I'm hoping we're going for both of them - that is, Crouch and Prestia.
