  1. i really hope Watts gets a game against Freo! give the kid a taste for winning! ..and i hope they play him in the forward line for once.. if newton and pj can get a game.. watts should go straight into the side!
  2. ..also is Moloney injured? he is in my Dream Team and he hasnt touched it since half time!! edit that.. he just got a touch newton gets a goal.. eww..
  3. this is horrible.. ..just remember guys.. this is pretty much our vfl side.. we really are better then this.. i hope..
  4. sylvia is a star! would have to be our best player of the season.. what a gun! newton and PJ are an absolute JOKE.. i just hope they dont get much game time next year when we are actually trying to win! i know a lot of people like Martin but i think he is pretty over rated.. we really really need a star ruckman! Petterd has really found some form the last month.. i think he will be a handy forward down the track
  5. how did bucks go?
  6. yep full team Melbourne B: Shane Valenti, James Frawley, Kyle Cheney HB: Clint Bartram, Jared Rivers, Cameron Bruce C: Lynden Dunn, James McDonald, Aaron Davey HF: Brent Moloney, Michael Newton, Cale Morton F: Brad Miller, Stefan Martin, Matthew Bate Foll: Jake Spencer, Neville Jetta, Nathan Jones I/C: Tom McNamara, Colin Sylvia, Rohan Bail, Ricky Petterd Emg: Paul Johnson, Simon Buckley, Russell Robertson In: Moloney, Sylvia, Morton, McNamara, Bail Out: Jack Grimes (hip), Matthew Whelan (foot), Jamie Bennell (knee), Matthew Warnock (ankle), Paul Johnson New: Tom McNamara (South Adelaide)
  7. why do we have 3 different threads on different draft ideas? isnt one enough? ..anyway.. i agree with you.. leave the system as it is!! the system may make teams tank (which really sucks) but at least every club gets a chance to rebuild unlike so many other sports!!
  8. so pretty much everyone in the seniors list is also listed in the dees extended bench.. bar Robbo, Zomer and Hughes... i think Robbo will be very lucky to get a contract next year.. or maybe he will get a contract where he will get paid 50c a week..
  9. Hilarious thread
  10. we should definitely pick up some value with pick 17! we will probably have our pick of Bastinac, Christensen, Hooper, Ah Chee, Hoegel, etc would be great to steal another mid like Bastinac or Christensen who have apparently been pretty good in recent weeks.. Hooper looks like a solid backman.. but not too sure if he would be too small? ..would LOVE to have Ah Chee in the team! ..if only we could have them all.. also word on the street has it that Port will be looking for a ruckman with their first pick.. so probably Vardy or Fitzpatrick?
  11. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...08/default.aspx Draft watch: the 16 most likely John Butcher (Vic Country/Gippsland Power) Still looms as the most likely tall to be taken first in this year's draft. Booted five goals in his last outing for Gippsland Power and although he is now unlikely to be the first player selected in the NAB AFL Draft, he is still expected to go top five. Ben Cunnington (Vic Country/Geelong Falcons) Well and truly a top 10 selection now, he is viewed by some recruiters as being a top-eight pick. Best on ground for the Falcons last week against North Ballarat Rebels. A versatile type, he is fearless in his attack on the footy. Jordan Gysberts (Vic Metro/Eastern Ranges) Still in the first round mix and at this stage looms as a 12 to 16 selection, despite missing out on All-Australian U18 honours. His versatility has seen him compared to Melbourne young gun Jack Grimes. Lewis Jetta (Western Australia/Swan Districts) The 20-year-old is likely to be the first mature-age player drafted. The small forward kicked three goals for the Western Australian state team this year and had 24 touches for Swan Districts last round. Kane Lucas (Western Australia/East Fremantle) Although there have been some mixed views on where exactly he sits in the draft pool, it would surprise at this point if he was not taken in the top 12. He has been in good form since winning All-Australian selection at the under-18 champs. Dustin Martin (Vic Country/Bendigo Pioneers) The ball-winner shone for Bendigo last weekend, kicking three goals. He was his side's best in a losing team and continues to impress. Andrew Moore (Vic Metro/Eastern Ranges) Like Gysberts, the forward remains right in contention despite playing much of his football with Yarra Valley Grammar. Moore has been likened to Sydney Swans premiership player Ryan O'Keefe and is the younger brother of Tiger defender Kel. Anthony Morabito (Western Australia/Peel Thunder) The stocks of the run-and-carry dasher remain high and he now looms as a top three selection. There has even been speculation he could be No.1 if a Western Australian club has the first pick. Matthew Panos (South Australia/Norwood) On the back of his excellent under-18 champs, when he kicked 14 goals (including five in one outing), the All-Australian full-forward is still right in the mix, especially with few tall forwards available. Gary Rohan (Vic Country/Geelong Falcons) Plenty are excited by Rohan and it's easy to see why. He has transformed from a full-back with country club Cobden this time last year to a high-leaping half-forward who is now viewed as a top-10 selection. Tom Scully (Vic Metro/Dandenong Stingrays) At this stage, it would be a major surprise if Scully's was not the first name called out in this year's draft. He is an outstanding midfielder, with one recruiter likening his running ability and engine to West Coast great and now Tiger Ben Cousins Koby Stevens (Vic Country/Gippsland Power) The midfielder/flanker has been regarded as a "footballer's footballer" and looms as a 9-13 pick at this stage. Daniel Talia (Vic Metro/Calder Cannons) Named at centre half-back in this year's All-Australian team, Talia has come right into the equation due to his ability to fill a key position at either end of the ground. He is the grandson of 1954 Footscray premiership ruckman Harvey Stevens. Luke Tapscott (South Australia/North Adelaide) The powerful midfielder/forward has such a mature body for his age that one recruiter believes he would be ready to go for round one next year. His shape has also been compared to the great Leigh Matthews. One of the best kicks in the mix. Jack Trengove (South Australia/Sturt) The midfielder/forward remains one of the most sought after players in the country. Touted as a potential No.1, but now appears more likely to be a top-three pick. Has played four senior matches for Sturt since returning from the under-18 champs. Nathan Vardy (Vic Country/Gippsland Power) Height and the ability to play forward makes the 198cm tall a likely first-round pick. Among Gippsland's best players in its most recent match against Oakleigh Chargers.
  12. i really hope so!! interesting to see Grimes back on the list.. must have pulled up sore after the last game.. or something like that..
  13. MELBOURNE Brent Moloney (groin) – test Brock McLean (knee) – test Jordie McKenize (calf) – test Liam Jurrah (ankle) – test Jack Grimes (hip) – test Stefan Martin (calf) – test Jack Watts (hand) – 1 week Paul Wheatley (quad) – 1-2 weeks Mark Jamar (quad) – 1-2 weeks Matthew Whelan (plantar fascia) – 2 weeks Jamie Bennell (knee) – 2-3 weeks Rhys Healey (quad) – indefinite Austin Wonaeamirri (knee) – season Brad Green (wrist) – season Daniel Bell (shoulder) – season John Meesen (foot) – season Colin Garland (foot) – season Sam Blease (leg) – season James Strauss (shoulder) – season Addam Maric (shoulder) – season
  14. i know it is still very early days.. but if we only win 1 more game for the season, get a PP, and choose Scully at number 1 (as i am sure everyone will agree with).. who would you choose with our 2nd pick?? i think Trengove is the way to go (even though there is a 'go home factor').. i think Butcher is still a wild card if he produces some good form in the coming months... and i personally wouldnt choose Morabito.. from what i saw he isnt much of a team player and likes his 'glory shots'.. plus i think his kicking is average..
  15. 6 McDonald 5 Pettard 4 Grimes 3 Bate 2 Davey 1 Nate Jones

i doubt they would take trengove.. i am pretty sure they would stick with a local boy just incase they bail on them.. ..plus it is Freo.. they will probably trade it for some old guy or pick some hack predicted to go round 5 or something stupid

  18. yes.. i cheered.. but i feel really really dirty for it.. this tanking system sucks.. making supporters want their own team to lose.. bring on the lottery system
  19. apparently Davey was reported for wrestling King.. will probably get off though
  20. i dont know which team is right.. if you click on the pop up game screen on afl.com it says the bench is: Int: Jake Spencer, Shane Valenti, Matthew Whelan and Moloney (who is clearly out this week) if that is true.. Jetta and Morton have also been dropped??
  21. one of the only things i have agreed with you on!!
  22. no they cant.. they are 4 wins and a draw.. giving them 18 points.. you need 16 points for a PP
