as far as i know. port will only have pick 8, 9 and 16 the dons still have pick 10
-
on afl ! http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...77/default.aspx
-
on SEN now.. port - pick 9, 16, nash essendon - mark williams hawks - Burgoyne 24, 40 and 61 to be delt in the deal PORT WIN
-
maybe the dees getting Chance Bateman for Newton? if only..
-
apparently the dons are keen on Mark Williams and will give up pick 16.. which would go to port.. and hawks get The Burger
-
i still think that might be good for dees if port gets pick 8 and 9.. more chance of us landing butcher or talia at 11! word on the street has it essendon want another midfielder.. if they pick up mark williams that will help fill their forward line
-
wow.. so if they get all of those picks.. hopefully that means they pick all the local boys and we can get Butcher with pick 11 B)
-
Burgoyne as we all ready have similar players to Ball i would still be happy with Ball though
-
i think you should chill.. your taking this way to personal.. is that you miller? i have had a few froffys after work and just mentioned i think those players are kinda crap.. i probably shouldnt have used such a strong word to describe them.. but as i said i have had a few cheekys.. but dont look into it that much.. its just my opinion having said that.. i stand by what i said.. now try and take some deep breaths and calm down.. dont take it so seriously.. im not the first person on this forum to call miller or newton ordinary
-
hopefully he proves me wrong.. but seeing how he treated Watts when he missed a shot.. i lost a lot of respect for Miller.. take a break? ok then.. i dont see that much difference between ditching someone on their form.. and forcing someone into retirement.. unfortunately thats what footy has turned into.. there isnt always that much respect shown to players plus would you prefer these players to stay in our list when they havent proven themselves over multiple years and we have to force players to retirement, ditch other players, etc so we can make room for draft picks?
-
i think that definitely means miller will be used as trade bait for GC17! if we cant trade Bell in the next few days i think we will have plenty of players to [censored] off at the end of next season! Newton, Miller, PJ, Bell, etc.. we dont have that many old players left we can force to retire.. so we will finally just ditch the crap

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...00/default.aspx Draft watch: the 17 most likely Aaron Black (Western Australia/Peel Thunder) Now looms as a genuine first-round pick. The athletic, high leaping, tall forward has shot into calculations in the second half of the season – akin to Geelong's Mitchell Brown last year. He was strongly sounded out at the NAB AFL Draft Camp. John Butcher (Vic Country/Gippsland Power) Earlier this season the key forward was regarded as a potential No.1 and almost certain top three pick. He has slipped in the pecking order, although he still looms as a first-round pick, it will be fascinating to see where he gets picked. Jake Carlisle (Vic Metro/Calder Cannons) The key defender/forward had an outstanding finish to the season, which has lifted his status in the pecking order. Carlisle possesses strong hands and good foot skills. But it is his ability to play at both ends, which makes him a strong first-round prospect. Travis Colyer (Western Australia/Claremont) An extremely quick small man, Colyer has been likened to John Platten in his style of play. He is also a clever goalkicker. An All-Australian in this year's NAB AFL under-18 championships, he has risen up the rankings in recent times. Ben Cunnington (Vic Country/Geelong Falcons) Recruiters love Cunnington, a tough-as-nails utility who appears to have risen again and now looks set to be a top five selection. It's hard to see him slipping past No.5 (North Melbourne). He is regarded as a genuine AFL player. Lewis Jetta (Western Australia/Swan Districts) The 20-year-old is a monty to be the first 'mature' age player selected in this year's pool. His stocks keep rising and it would not surprise if he was selected by West Coast Eagles at No.7. He is related to Essendon's Leroy and Melbourne's Neville. Kane Lucas (Western Australia/East Fremantle) The midfielder had an outstanding finish to the year and now looks certain to be claimed in the top 10. He played seniors in the WAFL this year and was one of the standouts at the draft camp. Lucas looks set to be taken between eight and 10 in the draft. Dustin Martin (Vic Country/Bendigo Pioneers) Improved significantly following the under 18 champs – even though he received All-Australian honours – and he is now right in the mix to be claimed at No.3 by Richmond. The midfielder's draft camp results were outstanding. Jake Melksham (Vic Metro/Calder Cannons) The ball-winning, stoppage midfielder had an excellent end to the season, winning the TAC Cup Grand Final Medal in Calder's premiership win. He had 24 disposals and seven inside 50s on the big stage. Melksham's overall finals series have pushed him back up. Andrew Moore (Vic Metro/Eastern Ranges) He is one of the most versatile players in the draft, having been likened to Adelaide's Andy Otten. Moore, who is the younger brother of Richmond's Kel, has been hovering around the first-round for much of the season and now looks to have firmed even more. Anthony Morabito (Western Australia/Peel Thunder) Although he can't be dismissed at No.2 (Melbourne) or Richmond (No.3), at this stage it appears the run-and-carry midfielder will remain in the west with Fremantle (No.4). Some recruiters believe he would not be out of place as this year's No.1 draft pick. Gary Rohan (Vic Country/Geelong Falcons) The forward's stocks have risen throughout the year – and with good reason – he is one of the draft's most exciting prospects. Although his form dipped a little late in the season, he impressed at the draft camp, topping the new kicking drill with 77 per cent efficiency. Brad Sheppard (Western Australia/East Fremantle) Solid and consistent, Sheppard's prospects have continued to gain momentum throughout the season. He had an excellent under-18 championship and was back-pocket in the All-Australian team. Sheppard also has the ability to play onball. Tom Scully (Vic Metro/Dandenong Stingrays) The hard-running midfielder has been touted as the No.1 pick for quite some time now, but at absolute worst will not slip past No.2. Either way, expect Scully to be wearing the red and blue in 2010 and beyond. A recent knee injury limited his draft camp activities. Luke Tapscott (South Australia/North Adelaide) Still regarded as the best kick in this year's draft, Tapscott has been compared to Brisbane Lions 2009 NAB AFL Rising Star Daniel Rich. He is a strongly-built midfielder/forward who could be a top 10 selection. He has been very consistent in 2009. Jack Trengove (South Australia/Sturt) Did not attend last week's draft camp due to SANFL finals, but his recent form has several recruiters now thinking he should be taken at No.1, ahead of Scully in the draft. The tough midfielder/forward now appears to be one of Melbourne's top two picks. Troy Taylor (Northern Territory Thunder) Taylor has immense talent and has been likened to Daniel Motlop. He was right in the mix for Gold Coast – he could've been claimed under its Northern Territory catchment – but at this stage he is in the mix for all clubs, putting him back into the top 17 mix.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...94/default.aspx ADELAIDE Although Victorian duo Chris Knights and Richard Douglas have attracted interest from Melbourne-based clubs, the Crows insist they won't be returning home. Recruiting manager Matt Rendell believes Adelaide's best team doesn't have too many gaping holes in it, which means the Crows are likely to be a quiet player in what looms as a busy trade week. BRISBANE LIONS Richmond defender Andrew Raines looks set to join, with the Tigers likely to receive a third-round pick. Bomber speedster Andrew Lovett has visited the club, although coach Michael Voss says there are no guarantees. West Coast's Brent Staker is in the mix, with Bradd Dalziell potentially heading back west. Reports have also suggested Joel Macdonald could be on the move. And could the Lions be Brendan Fevola's new home? CARLTON All eyes will be on the Blues this week as they attempt to trade Fevola. Several clubs have already ruled out 'Fev'. Now it's a case of who is prepared to claim this year's Coleman Medallist? Will it be the Lions, Magpies or Swans or will he remain a Blue? Carlton has already been busy in pre-trade activities, all but securing Melbourne midfielder Brock McLean for pick No.11 via an in principle agreement. COLLINGWOOD Not surprisingly, the Magpies were quickly linked with Fevola once news broke of Carlton's desire to trade him. Media reports have suggested president Eddie McGuire is keen to lure to Fevola to the Lexus Centre and recruiting manager Derek Hine has not ruled out the possibility. Darren Jolly is also understood to be keen to return to Victoria, with the Pies believed to be interested. ESSENDON Port Adelaide dynamo Shaun Burgoyne is on the move and although his preferred destination is Hawthorn, the Bombers remain a player in trying to secure his services. Lovett has already signaled his intentions to move on from Windy Hill, but will he become a Lion? He has also been linked to Fremantle. Reports have also suggested the Dons will have a crack at former St Kilda captain Luke Ball. FREMANTLE Coach Mark Harvey has already confirmed Brett Peake and Marcus Drum are set to move on. Peake has been strongly linked with St Kilda, with Drum attracting interest from Hawthorn and Geelong. Despite strong interest from Victorian clubs, Fremantle remains adamant forward-turned-defender Chris Tarrant will serve out the final year of his contract in 2010, before any thoughts of returning home. GEELONG Recruiting manager Stephen Wells has already said that keeping the 2009 premiership list together will be the club's greatest challenge, due to Total Player Payments (TPP) restraints. Whether that forces the club to move on some players during trade week remains to be seen. Mathew Stokes is one player that has attracted interest from West Coast. Drum is in the mix to join the Cats. HAWTHORN Looks set to be a major player this week with Burgoyne and Josh Gibson hot on the Hawthorn radar. Burgoyne and Gibson have stated their intentions to play with the Hawks, but how those deals will occur remains intriguing. Port Adelaide is eyeing off Jordan Lewis or Grant Birchall, but it seems unlikely the premiership duo will depart. North Melbourne may opt for picks in return for Gibson. MELBOURNE The Demons announced in grand final week it had secured pick No.11 for McLean, although officially that deal still needs to occur. Carlton list manager Steven Icke has indicated a little more may need to be added to that deal. The Demons will also monitor Burgoyne, but acquiring additional picks will again form a focus for the youth-driven red and blue. NORTH MELBOURNE New coach Brad Scott has already made his intentions clear on Gibson, saying he will be moved on, as he no longer wants to be part of the club. It appears Gibson will become a Hawk during the week. Head of football Donald McDonald has confirmed the Roos will try to help Sam Power, Daniel Harris and Matt Riggio find new homes. At this stage the trio has not been strongly linked with rival clubs. PORT ADELAIDE With Burgoyne set to move on from Alberton, trying to nut out a deal with Hawthorn, Essendon or Melbourne – or possibly even St Kilda – remains the challenge. The front-runner remains Hawthorn. Coach Mark Williams wants Lewis, but it's unlikely the Hawks will release him. With the retirement of ruckman Brendon Lade, the Power is expected to make a play for Melbourne's Mark Jamar or Carlton's Shaun Hampson. RICHMOND It will be interesting to see how involved Richmond becomes in trade week. It hasn't been heavily mooted with players, although the Tigers look set to release Raines to the Lions for a third-round selection (No.44). Speculation mounted before the end of the season that Jordan McMahon could be moved on to St Kilda. Shane Tuck will also be one to monitor this week, with his future unclear. ST KILDA This year's runner-up should again be active in trade week, having been one of the more successful clubs with this form of recruiting in recent times. The Saints are believed to be making a play for Burgoyne, with Ball a possible trade option. Peake is favoured to join the Saints from Freo and it is understood Fevola has nominated St Kilda as one of his preferred destinations. Will the Saints be the ones to take him on? SYDNEY SWANS Like the Saints, the Swans have been one of the most successful clubs in trade week in recent years. Again, the red and white will be right in the thick of the action. West Coast ruckman Mark Seaby looks set to move to the harbour city, although the Swans could lose Darren Jolly back to Victoria. Amon Buchanan is also reportedly on the move. Many have mooted Fevola for the Swans, but the club says it's unlikely. WEST COAST EAGLES Seaby looks destined for the Swans, although it is not clear what West Coast will receive in return at this stage. Brent Staker has stated his intentions to move on, with the Lions right in the mix for his services. In return, it could acquire Western Australian Dalziell, who is attracting interest from West Coast. Victorian Matt Spangher has also signaled his intentions to return home, although the club is keen for him to remain. WESTERN BULLDOGS The Dogs have already declared they want departed Swan Barry Hall to improve their key forward stocks. Hall also wants to join the red, white and blue. Coach Rodney Eade says Hall remains the priority ahead of Fevola. Andrejs Everitt has also attracted interest from rival clubs, but Eade says the versatile tall will remain at Whitten Oval. Everitt is contracted for another two years.

it might be in another thread already but Tiges look set to pick Martin and Bombers a mid too Link: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/tige...f-1225782480791 so depending on North picking cunnington/rohan/butcher and if port get pick 9 from hawks... we will be looking good to getting butcher but that is a lot of maybes!

-
if Cunnington was to some how drop to 11 (wishful thinking) that would be awesome! he will be a gun!!
-
1. Melbourne - Scully 2. Melbourne - Trengove 3. Richmond - Martin 4. Fremantle - Morabito 5. North Melbourne - Cunnington 6. Sydney - Rohan 7. West Coast - Lucas 8. Port Adelaide - Tapscott 9. Port Adelaide - Panos 10. Essendon - Talia 11. Melbourne - Butcher at pick 9 onwards it really gets interesting how it will play out.. there is a group of 5 or so you would expect to go around then
-
you need a hobby dick head
-
i would prefer to hold onto rivers and Jamar If we ditch Jamar we will have to deal with PJ in the team and i am over that unless we are tanking.. ..rivers is a gun.. our back line is becoming the best it has been in a long time.. we need to keep rivers as the other tall with warnock..it doesnt make sense getting rid of him when he is becoming good plus we keep trading away players.. what message does that send to our team? no wonder davey was so keen on a 4 year deal.. if we are ditching anyone over the age of 25 id be worried too!!
-
isnt Andrejs Everitt supposed to be a highly rated young ruckman? wouldnt he be handy? or is he overrated? i dont know much about him
-
'The Scorpions will begin their search for a replacement coach in what will be there third coach in four years.'.. good lord
-
if some how butcher was still around at 11 you would have to take him.. put panos should be awesome.. would love either one! Carlisle looks to be ok.. but not fussed if we dont get him.. earliest pick i would use on him is 18 not sure on Griffiths.. seems to be having a lot of injury problems at an early age.. dont know if its worth the risk
