  1. haha hope so! he has been very quiet the last 2 weeks! you will have to keep us updated mate! i really hope the dees win this game.. i have had enough of the abuse from people at work on how 'the dees suck'
  2. ..but you would think he could get a game before players like Bell, Newton, Fitzpatrick, etc..if he was healthy
  3. is there something wrong with Dunn??
  4. did strauss play?? thanks for the updates guys!
  5. joined! my team = THE COOKS!! looks like there is 1 spot left!
  6. are you drunk?? you were the dip [censored] that made this insightful comment: another MISS by Burgan... such a FAIL. congratulations
  7. completely agree.. i think everyone forgets how good this guy was in his first season.. i know it was only a few games.. but he has a lot of potential!! not playing last year and getting over shadowed by jurrah people have forgotten this.. i am always amazed when reading peoples 'future demon team' and they leave aussie out of the forward line!
  8. interested to know if you are happy with this pick high tower seeing you werent the biggest fan of fitz coming into the draft.. ..happy enough or would you have liked someone else?
  9. spot on.. it was definitely one of the best results from our experimenting.. would love to see him in the forward line as a tall along side watts in the future.. we have so many potential mids now so we should develop him as a forward we can push up the ground
  10. so happy we got Tapscott.. can see him being a crowd favorite for sure.. plus good move by the dees in bringing more security in keeping trengove around tapscott = chappy or a white man's byron pickett
  11. Great thread!! thanks to all of the updates guys.. gave me a tingly sensation after reading all the good news..oh boy..
  12. worst coverage ever.. i wont bother with Fox next year thats for sure.. what a joke
  13. after watching some online clips of Gawn (very limited).. i am sold !! he is MASSIVE!! would love those picks! bring it on!!
  14. Love it!! Very exciting!! maybe replace Gawn with Vardy.. but very happy with Talia, Taylor and Patrick !! interesting to see Ah Chee not making the cut.. possible Rookie pick? i was impressed with what i saw of him! Same with Hooper.. probably because of his height? Mitch Thorpe Melbourne Rookie?
  15. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/bolt...f-1225795936756 Bolt from Top End HIS nickname is the "Lajamanu Lightning Bolt", and some Darwin football judges rate him a more exciting prospect than his Walpiri cousin, Demons sensation Liam Jurrah. Liam Patrick, 21, has been courted by at least four AFL clubs in the lead-up to this month's draft. He is from the community of Lajumanu, 900km south of Darwin, towards the Western Australia border, and used to drive every week to play in the Northern Territory Football League with the Wanderers Football Club. With an eye to being drafted, however, he moved to Darwin to enhance his prospects. Hawthorn and Melbourne are believed to be interested in the 185cm goalkicking utility, while the Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne are said to have been monitoring his form. Patrick has flown under the radar until now largely because he was more focused on his young family: wife Loretta and five-month-old son Mazlin. Jurrah, his cousin, became a smash hit with Melbourne last season after the Demons gambled on the Territorian as a rookie draft selection.
  16. Sorry if this is posted somewhere else.. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/mark...f-1225794866053 HERALD Sun football writer Mark Stevens examines the AFL's draft picks, team by team and lists his first-round predictions. Return to start of sidebar. 39 Haw James Craig MELBOURNE PICK 1: Jack Trengove 18 Sturt SA, midfielder 185cm 82kg The perfect replacement for Brock McLean. Almost single-handedly got Sturt into SANFL grand final this year. Mature and ready to go - theory is he will be taken at No.1 as he is better equipped to handle pressure. PICK 2: Tom Scully 18 Dandenong Stingrays, midfielder, 182cm 74kg Best player in the draft. Wins hard ball and runs just as hard. If Dees had one pick, he would be it. But after the expectation placed on Jack Watts last year, they might decide to shield the local boy a little and give him time to emerge. PICK 11: Aaron Black 18 Peel Thunder, WA, key forward, 193cm 78kg With two midfielders in the bank, the Dees will surely look for a tall to complement Watts. Would love to get Butcher, but he'll be gone. Black is a good athlete who has had an impact in WAFL. OTHER PICKS: 18, 34, 50, 66 CLUB NEEDS: More quality kids. The Dees are solid in defence, but another key forward would be nice. CLUBS SAYS: "Last year, the quality ran really deep. While we had the No. 1 pick, it was a particularly difficult decision that was made really, really late and I don't think it gave us a great competitive advantage over the first 10 picks in the draft. This year's draft isn't as good as that. For us to have two of the first eight to 10 picks is a powerful position." Recruiting manager Barry Prendergast
  17. Cunnington getting looked at by tigers and kangas http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5016212,00.html "Richmond (No. 3) and North Melbourne (No. 5) have their eyes on him in next month's national draft."
  18. Dees taking Trengove with pick 2 http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5016212,00.html "THE player most likely to be taken by Melbourne at No.2 in this year's AFL Draft won't be attending this week's draft camp in Canberra. Gun South Australian midfielder/forward Jack Trengove will remain in Adelaide to train with Sturt ahead of Sunday's SANFL Grand Final against Central Districts." http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...00/default.aspx Jack Trengove (South Australia/Sturt) Did not attend last week's draft camp due to SANFL finals, but his recent form has several recruiters now thinking he should be taken at No.1, ahead of Scully in the draft. The tough midfielder/forward now appears to be one of Melbourne's top two picks. Tigers Interested in Martin http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5016212,00.html "RICHMOND is poised to partner midfield gem Trent Cotchin with another outstanding onballer from next month's draft. Clean-skilled midfielder Dustin Martin has firmed as the Tigers' target after testing brilliantly at the AFL Draft Camp in Canberra this week." "Richmond recruiting chief Francis Jackson said the club was unlikely to use its first-round pick to draft a top key forward, such as John Butcher." Morabito to freo http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,,2...5005401,00.html "Morabito and his manager, Colin Young, have told eastern states clubs he would prefer to stay at home. Brilliant young rover Tom Scully appears certain to be Melbourne's first choice with its priority pick and classy South Australian Jack Trengove the Demons' next pick at two. Tough on-baller Dustin Martin looks likely to head to the Tigers with their first pick." http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,,2...5005401,00.html "Fremantle is expected to bolster its midfield by taking highly sought after on-baller Anthony Morabito with its first pick." West Coast looking at Lucas and Jetta http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,,2...5005401,00.html "Swan Districts speedster Lewis Jetta or East Fremantle running midfielder Kane Lucas will be targeted to add extra pace to a youthful on-ball battery." "West Coast and Fremantle are still in desperate need of quick midfielders to capitalise on rebuilding home-ground advantage at Subiaco Oval." Essendon is also on the hunt for a young gun onballer. http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5016212,00.html "Essendon is also on the hunt for a young gun onballer. Bombers football manager Paul Hamilton said: "That certainly is one of our priorities. "This draft has got some good midfield depth and talent and we feel if we can get a couple of good quality mids, that is going to help us long-term."
  19. Bailey said that about 6 months ago.. a lot has changed.. it is pretty clear we will be picked scully and trengove 1 and 2. richmond wont pick him as they have already stated they are keen on martin, north might.. but i doubt they will take a risk and will probably go with cunnington or rohan.. sydney has already said they are very keen on rohan, and port have also expressed interest in the local boys (tapscott & panos) with their 2 picks.. essendon have also stated they want a midfielder as they believe they have their kpp covered.. probably wont happen.. but i wouldnt be so quick to rule our dees getting butcher at 11
  20. on second thoughts hahah.. i was only trying to say.. i would hold him to his promise of him losing a ball if he is wrong.. i didnt want anything to do with the removal process!!!
