  1. very tough conditions. sitting in afl members and the wind is strong and swirly.
  2. They beat WC in Perth, Hawthorn off 3 flags and the Giants. And then beat heavily favoured Sydney in the GF. All the while being heavily hit by injuries throughout the year. Hardly a fluke. Adelaide circa 1998 is what I would classify a fluke imo.

  4. How does this impact MCG surface tho? genuine question. they water it anyway. and it never looks like that during the dry of summer? also melbourne has had heavy rain recently.
  5. Is it just me or does the MCG surface look like [censored]?
  6. Neeld's available.
  7. I think there is a reason behind these stats. Fewer marks because we play more direct and have easy access going forward. Fewer rebounds 50s because our opponents go forward fewer times. Opponents handball more because we play a more contested game with more stoppages. Opponents tackle us more because we have more of the ball. More opponent clearances because there are more stoppages and more goals, leading to more opportunity. More rebound 50s against because we go forward so often. I would classify most of these as a symptom of the stats we lead in, rather than a counter to.
  8. Gotta consider that our game my be the last of the round, with anzac day being first of the next round. In such a scenario i imagine us and Richmond would play Hawthorn and Geelong that Sunday. Either way both Melbourne and Richmond stand to have a 4 day break and I imagine both are pushing for it to be after rather than before anzac eve. Essendon and Pies to play Thursday and Good Friday leading into Anzac Day.
  9. She's not wrong. Women's football started with two teams that offered the best of the best. The league then added Brisbane, which immediately started stretching the talent pool. The quality is poor, with the gap between each club's most and least talented players unseen across any pro or amateur league. Low scoring, beltings, players that can barely run out a match. So how does the league get money out of it without seeming to backtrack? reduce the number of games, focus on key players and matches, maximise return. It should have stayed as a two team festival, with a new team added every two years. A round-robin "festival", with team's competing for the cup. The league was expanded too much, too soon, and it's ruined it.
  10. surprised to see WC so low. We had some good years, particular 2000, 2002 and 2006. Not enough though. I've said it once and I'll say it again..Melbourne supporters deserve a bronze statue out the front of the MCG.
  11. Picking we finish 4th and tumble out in straight sets. Including an after the siren kick against Geelong.
  12. A hard earned thirst needs a big cold beer, and the best cold beer is VANDEN. VANDENBERG
  13. Half time is an opportunity to adjust. You never really know how the opposition is going to come out. For what it's worth we've generally started okay and then gone up a gear in the third. That's fine so long as you can sustain in for 2 quarters. Last year we were gifting teams 6-7 goal runs early in the game, which makes it a tower to climb. In 2018 we've almost always been in the match before the third quarter. Even on saturday night when we were playing average football, our defense was accountable and we didn't let Adelaide score easily. Watch their goals. They had to work extremely hard for them while we had a bunch of soft ones over the back.

Doubtful imo. I would pick 25k-28k.
  15. 12 months please.
  16. Walker is a great SANFL player, at AFL level he is imposing at best but irrelevant and dumb at worst.
  17. Tony Jones hosts The Footy Show now?
  18. Would likely choose Crows, his kids...unless we win a flag while he's playing. Has a real estate agency in Melbourne so wonder if he will stick around he after he retires? IMO is having his second best season after his B&F season. Been consistently reliable and accountable in defense. Had an up and down season last year but has found a new role this year.
  19. I leave at 5am on September 30. Just in case.
  20. Richmond won a flag on the back of playing one good quarter every week. This year they are especially dominant in the 4th. We stuck at it and kept pushing on the back of a pretty average first half.
  21. Getting this tattooed on my forearm.
  22. He's 2 from 2 at AO now if I believe. Maybe 3 from 3 if he played Port there in 2016. He seems to like playing there. he's game there in 2014 was memorable.
  23. Zero confidence from here.
  24. Not good enough this last quarter
