2 inside 50s. 2 goals. Pathetic.

Petracca and ANB fumble more than a married man at a brothel.

It's very hard to put a finger on it. We are uninspiring. Not terrible but closer to it than we are to looking "okay". It's like we're right near the corner to playing good football but are just as close to the corner of awful football. We're neither coming nor going at this point. We're stuck in neutral.

You're doubling down. If that's the case there's no reason why any one team should be definitively better than the other in these conditions. Our entire gameplan is built around contested ball. We should thrive in the wet, not struggle.

If only it was perfect 32-degree weather and the game was at the MCG...oh wait

GAMEDAY: Rd 02 vs Geelong
We managed to cut the contested possession differential from 35 to 25 in only 10 minutes. We got on top but didn't capitalise.

Good end to the half. Got on top. Oliver amazing. KK, Frost, May, Brayshaw all solid. Viney in and out. Petracca just terrible. Gawn uninspiring and seemingly not 100%. Zero forward coherency. ANB useless. Weeds not ideal for the weather. Jones is absolutely cooked.

Petracca. The momentum killer.

lol and who do you replace him with?

They have 30 more contested possessions.

We'll lose by 100+. Bookmark it. When you give Geelong this much control in Geelong, they punish you.

GAMEDAY: Rd 02 vs Geelong
FYI, we've scored 15 points since the 25th minute mark of the 3rd quarter last week.

Uninspiring trash.

We tackle alright but Port and now Geelong's absolute demolition of the contested ball is a major indictment on our development at this point. That to me is the major key. Yeah we have good handles in close and can contest to bring the ball down, but Port and Geelong seem to get a clear kick or run out from a contest almost every time.

We won't win this. Three times we have gone for the ball, and a teammate peels off instead of shepparding. All three times we've lost possession. We're playing decidingly poor team football. They have numbers around the stoppages. It is a carbon copy of Ports domination around the ball last week. We are in a bad slump right now.

Something about white men with dreadlocks that just annoys me. Why do they all have such punchable faces?

KK, May and Frost have started well.

We look out of sorts. Just no cohesion.

We beat them and end their season in the finals, but Fox Footy fixates on Tuoy's after the siren shot.

Non MFC games Round 2
https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=12&pid1=4041&fid1=C&playerStatus2=A&tid2=5&pid2=4043&fid2=C&type=A Pretty neck and neck statistically. IMO Petracca is the more defensive/wing sweeper whereas De Goey is a Bruest/Jack Riewoldt type forward. Like I said earlier in this thread I think the comparisons are really unfair.

Non MFC games Round 2
Petracca and Degoey are completely different players. Please stop comparing them. Anyway, watching how both Collingwood and Richmond play the MCG it really stands out to me that Goodwin's gameplan needs further refinements. When we lose on the MCG we seem to lose the same way. We get smashed in uncontested possessions and marks. If we were playing Collingwood tonight, we would comfortably lose by 10 goals. We're still at least 12 months off it. We just can't fill the space at the MCG. We're not winning a flag or getting close to it until we start consistently owning that ground. We weren't just bruised and battered on Saturday. We were tired and slow.

Yes, sure. But a choke nonetheless.

It was a massive choke from one of the most experienced players in the league. All you can do is laugh, really. And maybe he should, too.
