His career is imo summarised in the final moments of round 1, 2016 vs GC. Watch the highlights. The ball is coming to him in the goal square. He squibs, panicks, and handballs directly to a GC player. Luckily Lumumba intercepts the corresponding kick to nab a goal and seal the win, but that passage really epitomised Toumpas' career. I remember being at the game and seeing it happening, and the crowd letting out a collective groan. It's very audible on the highlights. Was never going to make it.

As it should be. don't need extra police resources dedicated to dealing with Geelong supporters

GA has been delayed. The only Cats supporters that would have tickets would be Geelong club members.

same with optus and the world cup. the problem isn't so much the organizations. it's the vendors who assure they can handle the traffic and strain. there would be financial clauses but unfortunately this doesn't help the average punter.

hold off mate. bombarding the club doesn't help. keep trying.

plenty available. tickets will be held in pending transactions that timed out. once the cache clears they'll be available
  9. praha replied to Lucifers Hero's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
nah. they aren't refreshing the system they would just be waiting for all pending transactions to go back to available.
  10. praha replied to Lucifers Hero's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
not sold out. see above. i have a background in dealing with these vendors and their systems. if the system is overloaded, the cache will pile up and so tickets part of timed out transactions will just sit there unclaimed until they return to available

This is what is happening: 1. People add tickets to cart 2. try to process payment 3. times out. 4. tickets stay in cart in back end system, but the customer's cart refreshes. 5. caching will refresh every 20 minutes and the tickets become available again. 99% most of you will get tickets eventually.

Tough one. Suggest vendor received the payment but the tickets may not have been allocated to the purchase. Would recommend doing it again and then requesting a refund.

I've spent my entire adult life working online. social media, web development, sales, you name it. I am absolutely CLUELESS when it comes to finals tickets. I have this weird concern I'm going to miss out. This must be what my parents feel like when their "wifi" stops working.

We also cracked 40k average home attendance for the first time since 1964. Total crowd across H&A was down though. Also if you take away the NT games, our average Melbourne home game attendance was 48k.

Not sure if someone else mentioned this but the crowd of 37k was the largest crowd against a non-Vic club (ex Sydney) since 2010 when there was 36k against Brisbane, and 2004 when 33k showed up against WC. Given the opposition support (or lack thereof), I would estimate about 36k Melbourne supporters came to the game. For reference, 30k showed up to the Pies v GWS game at the MCG earlier in the season. Amazing turnout. Does anyone know what the MCC was predicting before the game?

Tex Walker is a huff and puff SANFL player at best. How he's captain of an AFL club baffles me.

So just to confirm: As an AFL Member with club support, I am buying tickets on the WEDNESDAY, not the Tuesday in "contending clubs" allocation?
  23. praha replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
hmm not necessarily. it has nothing to do with wins and losses. it's the percentage of the total of points for and points against. we have a higher percentage than teams above us. but in the content of us vs Richmond's percentage, given we are 4 games behind them and close on %, we would likely have a higher percentage than them if we'd won 2-3 more games because we'd have more for and fewer against.
  24. praha replied to Skuit's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Points are a percentage of the total across every game. Winning margin is only calculated across winning games. So if you play two matches: Game 1: 100 - 50 Game 2: 80 - 100 Your average winning margin is 50. PF: 180 PA: 150 %: (180/150) x 100 = 120% Scenario for Richmond: Game 1: 100 - 80 Game 2: 100 - 60 Average winning margin: 30 PF: 200 PA: 140 %: 142.9% Hope that makes sense. Simply put if your winning margin and losing margin differential is high enough and you win enough games, the occasional 40-point loss won't impact your %. As we see with our percentage.
