  1. Yeah, Spargo, Hannah, Fritsch all have the body language and decision making of Finals calibre players. Jones does not.
  2. Lazy in a different way. His thought process is VFL-esque.
  3. Finally Garlett is in the middle. Johansson is giving Jones an absolute batch.
  4. Garlett, JKH are both cooked. Garlett's lack of forward pressure is infuriating. He's "throw the hands out to show you're making an attempt to tackle" stands out so much. throw him in the middle.
  5. Carbon copy of our game Vs Saints atm. Dogs working harder to win the ball.
  6. Hospital handpasses and kicks galore from both teams.
  7. Fox Footy saying it's a long layoff.
  8. I got one up on you. In my 150th game of junior footy, i was playing full back on the league's leading goal kicker. Kept him scoreless initially, but didn't get a disposal myself. Anyway, 3rd quarter, kicking in from a behind (the first time I'd touched the ball all day). Kicked it straight into him, he grabbed the ball and snapped a goal. My stats for the day: 1 clanger 0 disposals
  9. tl;dr - we are on track to break Essendon's inside 50 entry in 2000 record - we score more than any other team - we also score the most behinds - contested style leads to congestion - Goodwin says that's part of the challenge abd learning
  10. We got this. The stats don't lie. We are dominating in many areas. We need to CAPITALISE. Once we do we will be unstoppable.
  11. Oliver is rare though. I feel that unless the draft age does rise, teams will draft more inside players like him to feed into the growing congestion. Unless the AFL actively addresses it, which it will, because it loves changing rules and the way the game is played whenever...the game changes because of new rules. Oliver undoubtedly needs to add more to his resume. He has the potential to be better than Dusty imo.
  12. Team sheets are mostly [censored] outside of midfielders and key position players.
  13. Garlett could be put to good measure. Someone made a great point on FB. Swap him and Oliver at the end of every quarter, get some run and spread through the midfield, an outside runner, then deliver to Oliver to work his magic. King isn't wrong.
  14. Picks really do need a protection caveat. Like top 10 protected (we keep it if it's top 10 and the following year's pick goes to the Crows or until a pick falls outside the top 10).
  15. Geez we lack pace. If this were anywhere other than the MCG I'd be far more confident.
  16. They were never going to let him go. Favourite son, fan favourite and strong leader. Given the players they've lost, 5 years would be a huge morale booster. good decision by them imo. Letting him walk would have been disastrous for the club and fans. And let's be honest, the Saints and North in their all conquering are trying to bid competitors out of the market. Norf will land their big fish eventually.
  17. Would you? It stands as a terrible deal for both teams. The team that finished last brings in three start-up top 22 players that won't make them much better, and lose a top 1 pick. Melbourne lose experience and depth for an unproven kid.
  18. Not easy to compare him to Judd or G Williams (the two players I feel he shares most similarity with) because neither had contested possessions tracked early in their careers. Here is Clarry compared with Judd in his second season (he played his 50th game in the 2006 I believe). https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=12&pid1=4166&fid1=C&playerStatus2=I&tid2=4&pid2=109&fid2=P&fopt2=2006&type=A
  19. he and jones are both having spuds of a year.
  20. our attacking objective is Bailey-esque
