Agree. We didnt have a pick in the rookie draft which meant our a list is full. If we had a spot we cpuld have passed to keep it free. We are rolling with 43 players this year including mentha as our sole cat b.
-
At his best, a matchwinner. Was just happy to go this year. Pretty disappointing. He knows he is our best forward, and safe irrespective of effort which was clearly lacking those last 5 weeks or so.

The AMW situation is confusing. Is it the case we would push him to Rookie A so that we can pre-list both Riak Andrew and Ricky Mentha as Rookie Bs - which assumes they do not get bids in the national draft... If JT doesn't have a smokey in mind for our late pick, AMW or Hore could go straight to the senior list?
-
Got it. Makes sense.
-
Wow. If not caulfield than where? Surely these new board members realise a reasonable solution is better than no solution...
-
Does AMW need to find his way to the main list like mcvee? He has had 3 years as a b rookie but i can't find the rule about whether he can have a fourth?

Chaplin and McQualter have contracts. Would like to see McQualter shift to forwards and a new voice working with the midfields. Given we are tactically outcoached week to week, we need to look at the Opposition Strategy and Analysis role currently held by Sam Bradford too.

What is the vibe? Does trac look like he is part of the group?

Only need one word for Clarry - "Selfish". Prefer to give away free kicks than work through the tag. Made it all about himself and not the team.

In addition to being the oldest professional football club... We codified the laws of the game, we were a foundation vfa and vfl club, we lost players in both world wars, we originated the father son rule, we were first to recruit irish players and we established the womens game and were a foundation aflw club. Also, we are the only team to have won a mens afl premiership and women's premiership with all 18 team competing.

Agree with many others. This bloke never gives credit to the opposition. Sore loser.

Any ideas who was running around in #13, #34 and #46? Current players or train on players?

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 27th November, 2023

100% agree. Hopefully this happens. Anyone know the average afl salary for 2023 v aflw?
-
We definitely had bad luck... BUT we didnt do enough to overcome it. Collingwood lost mcstay heading into the gf and murphy to concussion in the first quarter. If they lost they could also say they had no luck. But they didn't lose... Suprised how many here think we were the best team in it. We finished 6th and thats all we deserved.

Carlton beat us without mckay and only 1 goal from curnow. We should have won even without petty, but we blew it.

This time next week one of zorko or maynard will have a medal...

Need a 2020 style review and some serious change. The current coaches have indulged the players and their success. The lack of disipline in the semi final needs to be a fork in the road. We are stuck with goody and i think mark williams is good for the group. The rest should be turned over.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
Gouga replied to leave it to deever's topic in Melbourne Demons
It was the first 5 minutes of a final. In the air Maynard realised the opportunity to drop the shoulder and he took it. Anyone who thinks he had "no choice" doesn't understand football. I am confident the MRO gives him at least 3, otherwise AFL is duty bound to appeal. I like many, cannot stand the pandering to the loudest voice in the media. Just imagine Maynard was Viney and Brayshaw was Pendlebury. Would Collingwood supporters be ringing the radio saying Viney had "no choice"? -
Shaking my head at the laurie take. He showed a fair bit I thought.
-
That number looks like it includes finals? Presume thats how we got 13 home games.
-
It was 75,000 members and average home crowd of 50,000 by 2023. Remember this is an "on" year hosting anzac eve and kings birthday so actually think the club will be a little disappointed.

We have so much to play for, but max's 200th should be the icing on the cake. Expect a huge effort sunday afternoon.
