  1. I simply can't fathom how we didn't extort at least a 3rd rounder out of Geekong in the Mitch Clark trade to use fir Frost. I'll be sick in the guys if Cockatoo slides to 23, absolutely livid.
  2. Rubbish. This is trading incompetence.
  3. [censored] poor finish to a carp trade period. There goes any chance of getting Nakia Cockatoo with a slider.
  4. well reasoned OP
  5. I'm completely crestfallen with the idea of loading up on more draft picks. What a farce after all the talk of Roos using picks to trade for established players that can improve us now. We are and will continue to be a feeder club for the top 4 until we fold or merge.
  6. why can't we grab another midfielder from GWS with pick 3 for a pick downgrade? we need more depth. I've been burned by the superstar/messiah experience after Clark.
  7. Almost 45HG. We either end up with Mitch Clark 2.0 or Scully/Trengove/Gysberts 2.0. The curse of Norm Smith is strong.
  8. The thought of Sydney grabbing Brayshaw, Petracca/Wright/McCartin and Heeney to add to their wealth of up and coming guns (Mitchell, Parker, Jack, Cunningham, etc) will well and truly set them up for the next 10 years. I'm not sure about this, I'd rather do a couple of Tyson & pick downgrade deals. Build depth. Kennedy is icing, we still need more layers on our cake.
  9. For those that are interested, the thrust of Wallace's assessment was that we're bringing in some handy bit part players (JG & HL) but given what other clubs around us are doing (particularly GWS) we are highly unlikely to be making any serious inroads up the ladder and are likely to hold our position. He emphasised the point that GWS are bringing in 2 multiple B&F winners (griffen & patfull) from other clubs on top of a list littered with Rd 1 draft picks that is already ahead of our list. In other words, they will disappear out of sight from us this year. Barrett kept interjecting with obvious digs at us and our decisions:e.g. HL & JG are "covered in strings" ie they come with major baggage and will likely fail. Hope these super trades that GNF and CIP have been on about happen because we sure as hell need them. If we draft Brayshaw and Petracca or whoever and remain in the bottom, I can see players just wanting to walk away from us Chip Frawley, Tom Boyd style each and every year.
  10. Barrett really doesn't like us, just has a dig at every opportunity
  11. Wallace tells us absolutely nothing we didn't already know
  12. Shame Mitch isn't open to going to Freo, we could have offered Mitch and p23 for their p13, they need some tall timber to replace Pav.
  13. I can't take this any more, I've relented and turned on Trade Radio, gawd I need to get a life, seriously.
  14. who else could we offer to get the pick we need? Watts, Howe, Grimes, Garland?
  15. I was thinking this in the car on the way into work this morning. They're likely to bolt up the ladder a bit this year. I think we'll be treading water in the bottom 4 if I'm honest. Not holding much hope of any gun trades coming to fruition.
  16. Love the way some posters here are straight back to trying to solve the black mouse and electric clock riddle...classic!
  17. bah, feel really sorry for Jack. If he goes another full year on the LTI, essentially our first pick in the rookie draft is a main list pick. Hope we make it count. edit: or Harmes gets a crack at the main list.
  18. pffft, bring it on if it nets us a real a grader
  19. My 6 year old son's favourite player and hails from the mighty Perth Demons to boot. Hope he becomes a star.
  20. Just swap out Howe for Cameron and I'm with ya
  21. Not sold on Kirk, something about him and senior coaching just doesn't jive with me.
  22. Yeah, that makes sense, brain fogged from lack of sleep last night.
  23. All of roosy's recruitment strategies to this point would favour a ready to play star in their prime (ie Mitch) over a priority pick. The club obviously knows some vital info that we don't have to be considering going with the draft rather than welcoming Mitch back with open arms. As others have assumed, my guess is Mitch's body is either crocked or mentally he's not ready for the caning that the group is up for this preseason.
  24. While completely disagreeing with Mitch on his choice to shop himself around, it is completely understandable for someone that has displayed clear 'mercenary' tendencies in the past. I think deep down he does know that it's probably a long shot that he'll have a long and successful career from this point forward, therefore it makes sense that he goes for the most lucrative contract on the table rather than accept a sensible mature rookie deal for one year.
  25. Totally agree with all that Deespicable. Hope he slips through to the RD and we give him a chance, but I think he'll go late 2nd round or early 3rd.
