POSTGAME: SF vs Carlton
I haven't posted anything about last night as I wanted to post something not based on emotion. I dont even remember seeing their winning goal as I had my head in my arms on the seat in front. It was so painful to watch the players after and the obvious anguish that they were going through. For someone to post that they were having a laugh losing two finals in a row. Their pain was so raw. If you go back through the season and look at the players we lost to injury (and concussion)and playing with a part time forward line how were we ever going to compete with full strength teams through the year, we were lucky to be fourth. This is not giving the players an out for what happened in the last 30 seconds, that was junior footy at its best but lets just acknowledge that its a hard enough game without constant injuries to players and outside players influencing outcomes. Last night I wouldn't have felt this way but I am grateful for reaching the finals. I wished it ended differently but I got to experience finals football. I know we will come back better next year and it will be heartbreaking to lose some of our favourite players but they will move on from it but not forget how they felt. I do have a new "media expert" to despise and that is Gerard Healey. I would love to know what the Club ever did to him as he described in the last two years that Melbourne have choked and he is not sure how we will ever get back from this. He obviously doesn't have any sources at the Club otherwise he would have known how many injuries at the Club we had going into the finals last year. My last point is how does the AFL appoint an ex Carlton player (#27) to officiate a final. Why do I even bother to question.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
Oh well AFL got exactly what it wanted. Just think of the numbers they can roll out when it is a Collingwood /Carlton GF. Look how well we're doing. Wa...kers

Ask Gussie how tough it's been. Honestly being a former Club President you would expect a little bit more class than he showed last night. Then again "class" and Collingwood. Nah. (Although I don't think we can't talk about having past classy Presidents!!)

POSTGAME: QF vs Collingwood
I don't want to talk about the footy last night but about the absolutley vile behaviour of the Collingwood supporters last night. We sat in N50 in the General Public about 5 rows from the back. There were a seething group of Collingwood supporters about 5 deep behind the rail. In front of them was a young Demon supporting family (Dad and three young kids). What those ferals subjected them to was disgusting. The police directed by the poor MCC attendant attempted to say something but it continued. At half time the Dad stood up and said something back and thankfully it didn't escalate from there when the police walked over again. The poor man could not move anywhere as there no seats to move to. At the end of the game with about a minute left two Collingwood supporters stood up in front of us so we couldn't see. I just touched the man on his back and motioned him to sit down, we couldn't see. It was so loud I couldn't say anything. His retort back to me was " you've lost so what do you f.....n care" with a finger and continued to stand up. So the siren goes all the Melbourne supporters trudged out, I get to the top of the stairs and there is a woman (Collingwood supporter) with a beer can standing there pointing her fingers at this 14 year old who was on the verge of tears " did you hear what this f..n c said to me". He was part of the family that had felt the brunt of vile behaviour of the mob behind them. I grabbed him as he had become separated from his family and dragged him away. His Dad came up to me absolutely shaken. I have woken up this morning not thinking about the actual game but wondering if I have been sheltered sitting in the MCC area. I dont think so. I have never been subjected to or seen this kind of vile behaviour before but it makes me so happy that I am a Melbourne supporter. I know some on here will say that there are bad supporters in any team but this level was unbelievable. Thanks for listening🥲

PREGAME: QF vs Collingwood
I read with interest in this morning's Age that Pendelbury was sprucing that the Collingwood unwashed faithful will make the MCG their Colosseum, presumably with the noise they make. We matched them on Kings Birthday for noise so lets make sure the boys hear us and make the MCG the Collywobbles "living hell".

Jake Melksham Injury
He was thinking about what he was going to do post football in 2022 and then got a reprieve and thank goodness he did. Jake saved our bacon whilst waiting for Bayley to return. If the injury isn't the worst imaginable I would say that if he would go again given what he has shown the last couple of weeks. He really loves the Club, players and supporters and is one of the nicest people you could meet. Just watching him in the forward line encouraging and advising the younger players I would love to see him look at coaching but then again he may be ready to move on, spend more time with his young family and start the next chapter of his life.

Make sure your account has ticked "to receive communications" from the Club. Sorry I don't know the exact wording but you may have decided not to receive emails in the past which would may stop you from receiving the most important email you will ever receive apart from " you have won lotto"🙂

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Carlton
As we (Melbourne supporters) walked out up the aisle in the Mcc after the siren went, we were forced to run the gamut of navy blue scarves being waved in our faces. There were some supporters really getting ready to rip their scarves away from them so I wasn't surprised after about 5 security guards raced past me to get to a fracas (well it was the mcc and melbourne mcc members dont participate in such vulgarities)😉 Just employed Collingwood supporters.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Carlton
But it is not just Max being blocked. I have noticed a marked increase in a marking competition, our players are constantly blocked off the ball and another opposition players moves in and takes the mark. The umpires never pay the free. I'm presuming that they have to be a certain meterage away from the incoming ball before a free will be paid. If it is allowable why don't our boys do the same thing. Can someone who knows the rules better than me clear this up for me. What is allowable blocking??

Training Ground?
Well I was hoping to come back on DL with the scoop of the year but there was nothing, zilch, niente.. Mr. Leg you still hold the mantle. I was hoping Perty would be at the function so I could stand up on behalf of all DLers and ask the pert..inent question. Alas no CEO but good old Robbo (full forward not journo) and it seems Robbo is not in on any info. So no big announcement but we did hear from Jonesy and Brad Green. Jonesy was asked about being a one club player and he said that he was comfortable with the decision to stay but was a little disappointed how it ended but also at the same time understood the reasoning behind it. His decision to stay was that he felt that as a leader of a club that at the time was not travelling well, he felt that he needed to stay to finish what he had started. Jonesy said that he contacted Clarry a couple of weeks ago to see how he was travelling mentally dealing with his injury. He said if you hadn't had a soft tissue injury before it was difficult to deal with mentally. He feels now that Clarry will be back that Trac will spend more time forward and has confidence in our small forwards. Robbo asked Brad about being a one Club player and he emphasised that coming from Tasmania at 18 years old, not knowing anyone, he was embraced by the Club and that is why now if the Club ever need him to do something he is always happy to assist. He sees the Club and past players as family. They both emphasised the importance of the noise that supporters make at games and how it lifts the players on the ground especially in those close games. He said he was lying on the beach in Italy or Greece watching the Brisbane game and went for a swim at half time thinking it wasnt looking good but during the last two quarters he was getting calls from mates in Melbourne saying we were coming back. We also heard from Nibbler and Tom Sparrow. Alex NB is a very good communicator and I can see how he is in the leadership group. There was a brief round up from one of the Directors (cant remember who) who basically said the Club is in a very good financial position not much else (probably why I can't remember his name). The concerning thing was that Ronald D was not at the event and he is always there. He was filmed at the football a couple of weeks ago so I am hoping all is well with RDB. Finally the food was good but only one scone per person🥲

Training Ground?
Will be going to that event. If any news maybe I could become the scoop master. Perty normally pops in for a brief rundown so if there is any news you will be first to hear it. It was only a matter of time as this legitimately has been worked on by the Club, Council and other interested parties for a very long time. My interest is what Dan is going to donate to the cause. After todays announcement regarding the Public Service Superannuation fund there will be a stink of hypocrisy about any funds coming our way.

Training Ground?
Isn't the Club's Future Fund there to do that. I thought the Club were some way to making Caulfield happen in terms of negotiating with local council and other administrative bodies. To my mind I think the Club would be loathe to start announcing any projections given how long it has taken to even find a viable location. Just on Kossie, put him back into the centre to get his mojo back again.
