  1. I'm in.. Level 1 wing. I can't take this. I'm a nervous wreck waiting for a ticket to go to a football match. When will this end.
  2. At one point, Fyfe shunted Oliver away and off the ball from the Gawn tap. I presume nothing illegal (umpire didnt call it not that they would if Fyfe was anywhere near the ball) There was no actual holding but he just pushed with his chest and of course he was left holding Max's tap down. The other method of nullifying Max is for the opposition to try and win the tap but to stand wait and pounce on our midfielders and there is another stoppage. Surely the coaches/players are aware of all of this but we seem to continue playing the expected midfield role. Could we do the reverse and become the hunters of the opposition midfielders. Just try something different. It looks great when Oliver can get a quick handball or pass out but against classier teams its not working (or didn't last year). Unless Max can tap the ball long a couple of times with half forwards or half backs virtually playing the midfielders role and as a result opposition midfielders aren't sure where the tap is going, they have to come up with a solution otherwise we are losing the huge advantage that Max bring us. What I find extremely frustrating is the opposition constant blocking Max off ball. There doesn't seem to be any inclination by the umpires to do anything about it which of course results in Max becoming more and more frustrated and constantly looking to the umpires for protection and then results in the umpires even less willing to call it.
  3. Just checked the MCC website and they say that mcc members only need to scan in with their mcc card and visitors need to scan in with their mobile card. The ticket for the MCC member will be used to be ushered to their reserve seat by staff. My mobile ticket does not have a barcode as such but my visitors ticket does. I suggest you go to the MCC web site where all the regulations around entrance to the Members reserve are set out.
  4. Got mine Level 1. Only 5 more sleeps!!!!!!!!!
  5. Mega ring and leave a number for a call back rather than staying on line. I think they are being inundated with members ringing with booking queries.
  6. Does anyone know if the two months quoted applies to Ben Brown as well as Weideman. The initial thoughts for Ben Brown when he was operated on was 4-6.
  7. All Clubs would probably have the same membership targets. We wouldn't be alone here.
  8. The other problem we have is the number of MCC/MFC members who may decide to forgo their combined memberships this season. Last year with not being able to attend home games at the MCC, dual memberships would have declined so it will be interesting if we can lure those back to include the MCC/MFC membership with their MCC memberships.
  9. I think it was reported that there was a hiccup with MCC notifying the Club of MCC/MFC paid memberships until much later than usual. We haven't received ours but not concerned as a quick call to memberships will sort it out.
  10. A combined MCC/MFC memberships can be accepted by the football Club and then forwarded to the MCC for processing. This information is then forwarded to the MCC for processing. Credit Cards are not debited by the Club but by MCC. The list of new combined memberships are forwarded to the MFC Membership generally once a week and then the football membership process begins. This is the process in a "normal" season. This will not be a MFC membership problem but as someone has said more likely to be a staffing issue at the MCC. I think the Club have done remarkably well with retaining Membership staff working on a part time basis throughout the season. Hopefully everyone gets around the Club and makes sure that there is plenty of work for them in the coming months.
  11. I may have missed something but has Fritsch resigned? Does anyone have info on Trent Rivers contract position?
  12. I think it may have been an AFL directive a couple of years ago that members should be "encouraged" to renew with auto renewal. There are two levels of MFC/MCC memberships - standard and Premium. The Premium comes with the ability to access a GF ticket but I think last year it was an additional cost. The decrease in membership numbers would also have a lot to do with the MCC members not taking up a combined MFC/MCC membership. The 2019 debacle year did not assist in MCC members renewing in any case and any who may have renewed prior to the season starting probably haven't as well. All in all a substantial effect on membership numbers and budget.
  13. Wasn't he injured last year and believe it or not but some forwards need time to develop. I think the Club has done the right thing by him by holding back somewhat and that level of maturity is playing out now.
  14. I think the Club always said that he wouldn't train until later in the week.
  15. Just sponsored a player so I have done my bit
  16. Brisbane are in the same boat as St Kilda.
  17. Fritsch Pickett Langdon Lockhart Jackson
  18. My concern is that the AFL have said that the bottom line losses are for the Clubs to absorb. They sit on millions of dollars in their Future Fund and the Clubs have to absorb huge losses which will impact the smaller Clubs already facing huge debts. Will the banks cover back up funding. Richmond, West Coast etc who sit on massive reserves will be able to ride this out virtually unscathed. In my conspiracy AFL world, the Suns and GWS will not suffer but have the advantage of increased funding due to their "special" development needs.
  19. And their own players after losing to us. Just feral like their Collingwood cousins.
  20. Bailey has an infection around his knee which is not serious. Petty has groin issues but not osteo related.
  21. In 2019 Shannon was in charge of the new player welfare but I am not sure of what his exact title was in 2019. HB was even more emotional when he got off the phone after his invitation to train. He is entirely invested in doing the very best for his family and the Club. I loved the support he is getting from Stephen May. Obviously the way the players got around Kossie was the other high point. It reminds me of how Richmond players are said to have that bond. How would Kossie have felt knowing that they were there urging him on and getting down on the sand with him so that he could be the very best that he could be. For a first year player that surely is something that will remain with him and hopefully become an integral part of his journey with the Club.
  22. One of the real joys of the year will be to watch Harley make his comeback in red and blue. I don't know what happened in his past and obviously drink was one part of his downfall but I could have almost cried listening to the emotion in the room. Burgess and no injuries could be the making of this Club in 2020
  23. And there I believe and hope is our next Captain. Even I'm feeling excited about next year. Who would have thought.
  24. The family's story is very sad. Michael Greene was a very good footballer who was looked at by a number of teams however he got involved with the wrong people and ended up badly involved with drugs. His father made numerous attempts to help him but to no avail. I lived not far from the Toby's Grandfather's house/business and it was sad to watch his father's struggle.
  25. As it is surrounded by suburbia, you would think it would be easier to have the land rezoned residential than the other way around.
