  1. Chelsea as well. She's from WA. Probably be the captain of the team they start up over there.
  2. I kind of expected this to happen given she lives up there, but I really wish we could have found a way to keep her,

  4. Interesting. I'm not sure that I agree with all of those changes, but the side you propose doesn't look a bad fit at all. Brisbane's strength is their fast attacking mids and half forwards, so we wouldn't feel the lack of talls. I'd probably keep Hunt in the side, but who knows? Lamumba has attacking runs too.
  5. I think they need to just cop the ban. It may not be fair, but the tribunal are notoriously political and don't like to overrule the MRP, so there would be little to gain. Just look on it as a week of R&R after some of the huge knocks Nev has copped in the last few rounds (none of which were cited by the MRP).
  6. This Diamond Defence. I'm wondering which coach had the biggest hand in it's planning. My first thought was that it must be something Goodwin cooked up, but then I remembered that Roos has been saying from the beginning that he wanted two running Half-backs who could break lines and kick. Maybe this is what he needed them for and it's something he's been sitting on for years and just never got the chance to use before now? It would also explain how we keep seeing Nev marking guys a half a foot taller than himself. If the HBs are out then he gets the third tall, sometimes the first or second tall if they've pushed out then cut back behind their man.
  7. I wonder if Fremantle is sniffing around him?
  8. Like others, I'm thinking Lamumba for Jetta is likely. The only thing is that I think we're missing Dunn defensively. It's not his attacking output but his ability to stop the strong opponents. TMac seems to be struggling being the No. 1 defender, so bringing Dunn back in should free him up as well.
  9. I've tipped the Doggies. I think we'll push them, but they are a very solid side even with the injuries.
  10. Funny you should mention that. You'd almost think they were looking to get something at the end of the year they could offer up for a really good player. Of course, it wouldn't be enough on it's own, they'd need to throw in a player too. Don't they have a Victorian Mid floating around who's out of contract as well?
  11. It's not so much that they are good. They just have draw that matches up with ours really well. Every time we win, so do they.
  12. There are a couple of names in there who are going to be playing seniors this week, so the team changes a little. Richmond will take him.
  13. If you have a play with the ladder predictor, you'll see that Adelaide look like sitting just above us in eighth spot basically for the rest of the season. It would take some freak results for us to get over them and into the eight. So yes, you absolutely need to barrack against them for the rest of the year. Send them as many negative vibes as you can, because if they fall over and Melbourne win the games they should (ie against the bottom 6) we may have a sniff at finals this year.
  14. I refuse to panic about this. Jesse is an immense talent and will almost certainly be a star of the competition at some stage, but his loss would not break this team. We have Weideman developing nicely. He, Watts and Pedersen/Frost could still hold down the forward line comfortably. Plus any trade for Hogan would involve more high picks coming int to the club with which to draft or trade for another key forward. It could slow our development a bit, but we'd survive. That being said, I don't believe he's going anywhere. So many of our players have said the same thing recently. They've put in the work, they can see where the tem is going and they want to be there for the payoff. He's in the same boat. While living near his parents is probably a strong pull for him at his age, he's dedicated himself to a career as a professional AFL player. He's spent years working towards that goal and he's far more likely to see success with us than Fremantle the way things are looking right now.
  15. It's like winning Monopoly Money. Just because we can't take it to the bank doesn't mean it isn't fun to count.
  16. Doesn't have to be high to be reported. As I said, he gave up on contesting the mark, turned the shoulder and ran through a player from behind. That's a hell of a lot more likely to cause injury than a sling tackle. It should have been a rough conduct report at the very least.
  17. Why was Peter Wright not done for his late hit on Jetta? The footage is damning, he's clearly given up on contesting the mark and just turns the shoulder and rams into Jetta's back after he's taken the mark. It should have been 50m on the day and a report. Not only did the umpire not pay it at the time, but I haven't seen anything in the media about it.
  18. We got closer to North than they did. Also, North were gifted six goals directly from dodgy umpiring calls against us. If the Umps had called the game fairly we won by a pretty substantial margin.
  19. Dermie on SEN earlier today was right into the Dees. Interestingly, he posed a hypothetical question to the other hosts, if the bottom ten teams were to hold a mini comp right now, who would wind up in the grand final. Instant universal response was Dees and Saints. They all agreed that those two sides are a cut above the rest as far as the bottom ten go.
  20. Ablett Jr is a pretty massive introvert which makes him an odd choice for captain. When faced with the media he tends to shut down and go into robot mode. The real question is whether there is any personality hidden away in there that pokes it head out when he's not in public? Re the hit on Viney, was the guy reported?
  21. It hurts like hell and sucks for a while afterwards. You can't immobilise it because you have to breath. I'd like to see Frost play on Redpath. He has the strength to wrestle him and far more pace. It could be a great matchup for us.
  22. Never played Aussie Rules except in the playground. I was however in the top 10 junior squash players in Victoria and quite decent at soccer.
  23. 'Course I have. Now you'd better quiet down or the nurses will be angry with you again.
  24. Why change anything? That was an epic win. We obviously have a good mix. Leave the team alone and let them earn their spots back if and when someone plays their way out of the firsts.
