I agree with the Gutnick comments and won't say anything further on it. But I will say this - I think we are the most united as a club as we have been for some years. The outside barbs from journos should all make us band together. The stuff of 186 can be consigned to the history pages by fielding a committed team. It would seem that the on-field leadership issues have been addressed (proof will be in the pudding) and the character of the draftees we have was a key focus from Neeld. The footy dept knows what we were lacking and went out to deliberately and systematically improve our leadership and character. From afar it looks to me like they have done a reasonable job

Gutnick did a massive amount of damage to the club, He went straight to the AFL in the hope we would get 'lenient' treatment if we approached them. He didn't go to the Board nor seek any other counsel inside the club. It cost us massively in the draft and 5 of our players had to undergo tax audits. All for what? The AFL had no idea what we were doing. He should have ordered it to be shut down and get the books in order. The club suffered too greatly by missing out on valuable draft picks and disunity after that. He gets no 'credit' from me.

Not quite true. His first two were injury interrupted from memory. He was still at school in his first year and had groin and shoulder issues I believe. OK so I just checked (which you should do too before shooting off) He was still at school doing VCE in 2009. Had a back injury pre-season 2010. This is his second pre-season.

these guys have no idea. We live and breath this stuff and hence have a much greater knowledge of the limitations of our list.

I remember asking Watts once how tall he was and had he grown since he was drafted. He said he didn't know. The Club only measures these things about once a year. Once they are recruited it is kind of irrelevant....
