Yes true but I am less than confident he will develop decent kicking skills and decision making....

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
jnrmac replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thats because the onus of proof is on the accused. ts quite simple really. They say you did something and give you an infraction notice. You respond or not. If you choose not to defend then you are cooked. As for SC and Alavi, they have made statements. That is all they are required to do. They do not have to be cross examined. -
Hard to compete for spots off the rookie list...... And every year we get excited about the new recruits. Every year we get excited about the 'hardest pre-season ever' and the great shape of our list. Every year we get smashed in round 1. Let's just wait and see how well they do.

Isn't it time to back our football department in the midfield?
jnrmac replied to CBDees's topic in Melbourne Demons
We have all been here before. We have been kicked in the guts too many times. Supporters are sick of 'this time its different' and want to see real evidence on the field before getting too excited. As for building a midfield, many on here have been banging on about our midfield of the past 7 yrs. It has been the worst in the league and we failed to recruit mids when given the opportunity despite it being our most glaring weakness. And when we did recruit mids we consistently recruited 'athletes' not pure ball winning footballers - nearly all of those have failed to give us a competitive midfield/team. SO yeah its looking promising but I'm not investing too much emotion until they turn it around where it counts. -
The little master .....especially when said by Kelly underwood

The gallop on our young backmen
jnrmac replied to Tangled up in Red and Blue's topic in Melbourne Demons
Welcome. Good first post We will have good flexibility and speed. I think the hallmarks of a good backline are the ability to read the flight/play, manage your opponent in a one on one sense, be able to break away to give yourself time and space s o that you can make good decisions and deliver the ball effectively to a team mate up the field. The recruits we have tick all of this boxes and should allow players like Howe to play fwd. The backline is shaping up really well and I ask if anyone here now thinks that Frawley leaving wasn't a great result for the Dees as it forced us to look around and shore up the backline (let alone deliver us Brayshaw) -

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
jnrmac replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
No sure where it came from that there are no records. You simply wouldn't run a programme worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and not keep meticulous records about everything. I mean Melbourne supposedly players have to call in every morning to advise on how they have pulled up after training , if they have any niggles, blah blah blah. And if they can't produce records they are guilty of gross incompetence, mismanagement and endangerment of young people's lives. Automatic 2 year bans. -
Yep we were all panicking.

Ban this troll In Topic: AFL National Draft 2014 Picks 2 & 3 Yesterday, 12:16 PM Saints supporters reckon Petracca will leave for Collingwood in 2 years. I tend to agree, he doesn't seem the loyal type.

Are we there yet? How many more sleeps?

You only have to look at the retrospective drafts that some of the media have done. I think 2002 and 2005 are the only ones that come close to getting it right.

I dont subscribe to the theory that Morton would be a gun player if he had been at the Eagles. Its a moot point as we will never know. BUt for me its more about personal commitment to improve, dedication etc Morton didn't have it. Now of course if you are talking chemical enhancements......
