Hardie is a wnker of the highest order. His articles and tweets are so ridiculously biased they should be ignored completely. Why wouldn't anyone believe a word of what Dank says or supposedy said? There is not one thing he has uttered in the public domain that has any credibility. As for Evans and the managemnt.Of course they knew about the drug programme. It cost around $700k and they measure everything in sport. They would have had approval to hroe dank and robinson and run the programme. Would Evans have know the nitty gritty about what was given to the players. Its probably unlikley but there is no doubt the pressure on him was immense to do a deal with the AFL. When Hird refused to be the fall guy and the club chose to target Demetriou, it was too much for Evans. I don't know him bit know a number that do. He is an upstanding guy. And much more likeable than Paul Little.

I wouldn't be too concerned about people staying on or not. There is always turnover at clubs in coaching ranks. Roos himself may hang around in another capacity. I believe this has been flagged already. If we are successful they will hang around.

Christian Petracca's toe injury (in full training)
jnrmac replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well most of them are delusional fools so I wouldn't worry too much about what they say. -
Title of game analysis and education coordinator. Originally drafted by the Roos but never played a game.. Worked with Sheedy, Hird, and most recently Luke Beveridge. (Happy to pick a few tricks from Beveridge...) Analysing game plans and strategies. This is a new role for the Dees and reminds me of what Clarkson is doing at the Hawks. Getting educators in with game knowledge. Backing up McCartney and Goodwin. Unless you can get the message across to young men its all a waste of time.. Good that we are adding more and more quality and hopefuly cutting edge education to the coaching staff..... http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-01-19/jennings-rapt-to-join-melbourne-journey

Mr Kelty has made his view known to senior figures at the AFL and Essendon that the game will need to find a substantial sum — between $10 million and $20 million — to redress the financial and reputational loss suffered by Essendon players. The alternative, Mr Kelty has warned, is drawn out litigation that would potentially cost $50m. Why would "the game" need to find this money? Surely the drug cheats have to pay up?

Christian Petracca's toe injury (in full training)

Did I read somewhere that CP5 was doing lay ups and not wearing shoes? If so that would be the stupid thing. Not the fact he was playing basket ball at home. -
Robson offered his resignation immediately after it was all made public. It was not accepted. Once the AFL report was handed down he offered again and it was accepted. The club and the AFL were happy to have a scalp.

Or nothing according to him..... -
Does anyone at the EFC get irony?????? These guys are mad. Their new coach was in charge of a club during a highly publicised drug taking regime. And they won a flag. Now the FIRST person they hire as a fill in player is someone who is coming back fom a drug suspension, Ryan Crowley. My God you couldn't make this stuff up
-
Yep. Haven't seen anyone in the mdia connect those dots. BUt Dank was experimenting by his own admission in the texts between himself and Alavi the compunding chemist. He should be locked up.
-
When is the next step in this saga going to play out. That is the banning for life of Hird, the board of the EFC and everyone involved in the administration and coaching of that club? Whose job is it to ban Hird?
-
My bad oops...

Captain obvious award?

Pretty much every ABC interview with a green or left interviewee.
-
It was not a not guilty verdict. Contrary to what Hird says, the players were not 'cleared'. This has been a huge misnomer perpetuated by the kool-aid drinkers. There are many cases of judgements being overturned by higher authorities.
-
They were badly advised from the beginning. They relied on there being no records and therefore no culpability on their behalf. That was stupid in the extreme. Perhaps the overtures from Gil, the EFC and the AFL that the 'players have done no wrong' gave them comfort. No one from their camp stuck their head above the fray and said 'this is bigger than a provincial footy comp in Australia'...

Here is another strand of the 'cable' that needs investigating. Where are the records of the drug programme? Footy clubs keep records of everything: skinfolds; player weight; calories consumed; running times; km run in games etc etc etc. Here is a programme that required a budget of around $700k and a team of people to administer. Where is the data? Where are the records? The club was clearly tipped off and got rid of the records. Why the media silence over this? How can anyone have sympathy for a club that does this? This is deplorable.

But the peptides weren't given by their doctor.....they were given by a bogan charlatan..... The doc supposedly knew nothig about it. Altho he did write a letter to the board (that was never received) saying he was uncomfortable about what was going on.....
-
If you use the links in a chain analagy, once one link is broken the entire argument fails. (this is what the AFL tribunal did with regards burden of proof)) Using the strands in a cable approach says that one strand by itself does not carry all the weight, nor does it being broken destroy the cable. The collective strands are enough to carry the weight of the argument. ie on the balance of probabilities or compfrtable satisfaction. This is what CAS used.

No they won't. The AFL own the 18 clubs. -
Why? Didn't the same thing happen to Corey McKernan and CHris Grant? Lost the Brownlow on a breach of the rules? Whats different here?

How is that fair to Cotchin and Mitchell? We need to stop making allowances for cheats. -

What is a huge shame is that Mitchell and Cotchin were denied their Brownlow. And the glory and financial rewards that would have come with that.. You simply can't let the cheats prosper.
