  1. I didn't see him there for much of the final term, including a centre bounce.
  2. Cross would have to be in our top 3 for BnF so far. His courage, marking, even disposal are A grade at the moment.
  3. Lumumba ran himself into danger frequently, but I liked his run and link up he gave us from defence, which is where he should be playing
  4. So Cloke kicked his first 4 on McDonald? Must've missed that. Just didn't really get why we moved T-Mac forward, he's not a real threat there. He did butcher a couple of kicks from the back half though. Dunn had an up and down game
  5. Won't be upset if he keeps playing the way he did today. High handball-kick ratio suits him. More worried about softer players who turn it over
  6. 6- Vince 5- N.Jones 4- Cross 3- Viney 2- Brayshaw 1- Gawn
  7. Liked our run and carry today (in the first 3q's), overused it at times but chain handballing is often better than kicks that go nowhere. Question: Why was Dunn on Cloke for most of the game? Why did McDonald go forward in the final term? Seemed ridiculous to me. Most of our guys had pretty good games today, but they all shared in the mistakes. Only real shame in the game was us looking tired and watching Collingwood play kick to kick in the final term. Credit to Viney for playing a great second half after his injury. Our midfield as a whole was pretty good Glad we at least showed some attack, those patches in the 2nd and 3rd were beautiful. Why aren't we doing that more often? Even against lesser teams we've just plodded along
  8. Fitzy's mistake was embarrassing but FFS players kick the ball through all the time and they never pay that rule. The rule has lost its purpose
  9. The Saints have much better leadership. Riewoldt, Montagna, Schneider and Dempster have been around forever but still give it their all each week even though the team is built around very young players now
  10. Exactly. Hasn't he provided what Roos was looking for? Now randomly Gawn comes in- just seems like blind experimentation, as much as I wanna see Gawn play
  11. But it's still early in 2015, not sure if that should be the mindset at the moment
  12. I'm not a big Grimes fan but very tough to drop him when he's finally back in a bit of form, especially if Howe is gonna play in that role in his stead. It's hard to see what Roos is trying to achieve at the moment
  13. Has to do more. If he's playing in the midfield he should be getting 20+ possessions, we're only seeing cameos rather than consistent efforts
  14. Might be good to get his fitness up given his lack of run in his few games this year
  15. Depends on whether they play Witts or not (even though he's not a big threat), which they have in the past few weeks
  16. I often feel like it's my fault. I lost a little interest and only went to a few games in the couple of years beforehand, then became really passionate for the 2007 season
  17. Our midfield's in a far better state than two years ago, as is our forward line. I think for the most part, the personnel's there. Mentally, we are deficient, and our team chemistry needs a hell of a lot of work
  18. W/L wise, yes 3-6 meets my expectations. However, they've been 6 bad, frustrating losses. I'm definitely proud of our Dogs/Suns games, given they challenged us in both and we were able to kick away in the end. I thought under a second preseason with Roos we would have matured enough to at least be more consistent. Goes to show that experience together is more valuable than experience in general and that Roos, whilst providing stability in the club, may not be able to coach us to the level we all hoped. Our most consistent performers are first year players and Tom McDonald
  19. It's quite clear that the best facilities don't correlate winning flags. But then again with the insane amount of memberships they sell they must have plenty of cash to burn. I heard they didn't like Waverley due to all the housing around it and their lack of privacy
  20. We've made a huge mistake by putting recruits from other clubs into the leadership group immediately. We shouldn't have a leadership group if new players to the club are considered leaders
  21. No one said that about Jetta before 2014 though
  22. How about our six losing scores this season? It's eerily similar: 56,55,50,50,50,54. That said, last year our average losing score may have been even lower (we scored sub 50 points 7 times last season). The point is something needs to be changed to get a score on the board
  23. It was so eerily similar to what happened after Round 1. What I will say is that a couple of decisions that gave them goals in the 2nd broke our morale. Really can't find many positives. The output from Jones, Vince and Lumumba at the start just dried up. Disappointing Jetta was subbed off and that Viney was sub, and by the looks of it it people were right in saying that Fitzy didn't have a match up because he did look lost out there and perhaps shouldn't have played I agree that this was as bad a game as I've seen Watts play. Hopeless ball watching for most of the first 3 quarters, before getting some cheap ones but I'm seriously sick of him being a tall midfielder. Bail was valuable last week, but we can't afford to have him or any player who constantly shits themselves under pressure the moment things go wrong. Surprisingly, I thought Toumpas was alright. Spencer won or at least broke even the ruck. Brayshaw played like our best midfield and proved that he shouldn't be rested. Hogan managed to find the ball upfield late in the game (again) when no one was kicking to him. Thought our defence was very poor, Garland and Grimes were ok but mostly it looked like Port had full control of the game, even when they were down. When we started to put numbers back, it looked like we subconsciously stopped trying in the centre. I think this is important to address. I don't think we can afford to put numbers behind the ball, we aren't skilled enough to find targets upfield and are too easily shut down. When we give up goals so easily the second things go wrong there's no point in being a defensively minded team, the 'damage control' style doesn't work for us, never has. The players should be instructed to run and move the ball quickly throughout all 4 quarters Pathetic manning up and missed tackles in the 4th. Port ran and hit targets as they pleased
