  1. Yep that and he already has mental health issues from being knocked out and the transfer from the suns... it would be all too much Its a [censored] disgrace - and needs to be called out
  2. Revealed: The ‘compelling medical submissions’ that spared Rankine https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/crows-make-final-case-to-have-izak-rankines-fivegame-homophobic-slur-ban-downgraded/news-story/510b2548fa841bc5253298c0f560ab8f Pretty disappointing they have argued (somewhat successfully with a downgrade to 4 games) that his mental would suffer by missing a GF. WTAF - kids have hanged themselves because that word has been slammed at them over and over again. Weak as [censored] for arguing it - weaker still for accepting it AFL
  3. Phuk me @hardtack Wishing you nothing but good things. Will be the in spirit - I'll have a scotch or 2 down here in Melbourne. Enjoy the break from treatment - not sure but sometimes it looks like the treatment is worse than the disease. Hope its a ripper night
  4. And the song for after goals 🤣
  5. That better be his nickname going forwards. Fly
  6. Hes pretty fly
  7. I've been big on bucks getting the gig, of the available assistants - Danny would also be a great get Tonnes of experience, similar to Fages journey up the ranks. If either of those 2 end up in the big seat and re-imagine assistant set up - get some guns around them - we just might bounce back up
  8. Chaplin, Dees bracing for more Oliver and Petracca trade talk https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/melbourne-caretaker-coach-troy-chaplin-expects-speculation-over-christian-petracca-clayton-oliver/news-story/71010f34ff78fac259695201a16d5ce0 The talk has started....
  9. "I'll try and stay in footy": Retiring triple premiership Hawk on coaching move - AFL News - Zero Hanger https://share.google/S6n2JN2NtzXtb2ueM A phone call to Luke breust would be in order. Specialist forward craft coach. Probably THE guy with the goal kicking knack and forward craft - if he can teach it he is probably the difference for our forwards half craft
  10. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0VqWg2s2CZcqMHey3dCaDuXmbP4y6bXnhfUXjM7DW7o5JdnKtUDn9uGBHtTmtPSNCl&id=100063716491764&mibextid=Nif5oz Here you go Ghosty - a little on her backstory - another Glen Iris Galdiator in the big league
  11. Howie just called Sparrow 'Swallow' zero respect from the commentators
  12. Mark Howard is the most biased commentator in have ever heard. Granted the dees are awful but he is absolutely just barracking on the microphone. It couldn't be more one sided if it was a pro Hawks special. Really giving me the [censored]
  13. Goody???!???!@?
  14. Confucius says "man who walk through door going forwards going to Tokyo, man who walk through door sideways going to Bangkok" Be careful going through the doors sideways Bitters could be painful
  15. There seems lots at play here. Insurance company being an Insurance company, but also the local branch sponsoring the football club that one of them played for and league approved Insurance policies... step back and take the emotion out of it - The players will be saying they can't work - true from a football perspective, not necessarily true from an Insurance point of view where they could work in another job - so are watching them like a hawk to see if normal day to day life stacks up with the premise they are unable to work from a physical point of view - fascinating stuff. Without knowing the wording of the policies- its pure speculation as to the rights of the players vs the rights of the Insurance company. I remember Luc Longley screwing his ankle up and retiring from the NBA and when Bogut retired from the NBA - they had to tread a very fine line, not working in any capacity to ensure multimillion dollar Insurance payouts. I guess we are finally seeing that here with medical retirements now far more common with head injuries. Still for the life of me can't work out how payouts following medical retirements while contracted remain in the salary cap in any capacity. Obviously the concern is being dodgy - doing big deals and being able to wipe them off the books with some trickery. But the space is different now with concussions literally wiping players out of the competition instantly
  16. This gives me PTSD symptoms.... uncontrollable shaking, cold sweats. 1987 really doesn't feel that long ago.....
  17. I completely stopped respecting her years ago after she would write an opinion piece on a Tuesday and then quote her own opinions on the Thursday as "Facts".....
  18. Its a SOFT cap! We are allowed to go over it FFS. Just means need to pay a bit extra to AFL house... which given AFL house determine how much funding each club get and there really is no visibility on why each club gets what they get.... its really just another negotiation at head office to determine what the "tax" vs payments actually is.....
  19. Obviously in the captain/coach mould - RDB mk2
  20. Jordan Lewis on board as well (not as strong on the timeline though - happy stick with it though) https://x.com/RSNBreakfast/status/1954685579012325492
  21. Too early to start the "Is Nathan Buckley the right guy" thread??
  22. Mid-Forward connection is the biggest gaping hole. Whether that is Forward craft that opens up leading channels or our mids honouring the guys in the right places and nailing them. Or having the skill level to do so. The hardest thing in football and the easiest thing in football. Get that connection right - we shoot for goal im better positions allowing easier shots and a better return. Nothing more deflating for the team when our forwards get = or more looks at goals but dont convert. The goal conversion has been dismal. Where we shoot feom helps dramatically (although the number of 30-40m straight in front shots that are sprayed is unforgivable) Back line is at the level required generally. Our midfield mix requires more speed on the ball - kossie Lindsay Windsor help address this. Tracc as a 70/30 Forward mid instead of 8020 the other way allows it to happen. Avoiding a dominant mid structure of 1 paced brutes and mixing in the speed and polish is the required trick here. A bona fide KPF to partner jvr. Can't rely on 4 mid sized forwards... need the spread of tall, short, mid, speed and marking prowess intertwined. Clone kossie for 2 more of him.... one deep forward, one mid and one as the roaming defensive half forward....
  23. Really interested to hear what a "proper process" actually involves from all those demanding it. We are not a government agency/public job so therefore we don't have to throw out a public advertisement asking for CV's, nor have a publicly visible team of recruiters analysing every word for the public record. We don't and nor should we ever know what has actually transpired between our board/executive team and any of the candidates. The requirement of our posters basically asking for a blow by blow detailing those involved is actually kind of ridiculous from a private entity. The due process from my vantage point seems to have been happening for quite some time with the man in question. If i doesn't happen by all means get some cv's submitted and have a few rounds of interviews and presentations, but presenting your thoughts on a team you have had 0 contact with and how you are going create rapport with the 45 odd players and how ever many staff is about as pointless as rock scissors paper in choosing between the senior assistants. That kind of process gets you a Mark Neeld - great assistant and power point specialist but not a senior coaches [censored]
  24. Credit where credit is due - amazing goal for Rhylee West
