yeh let's get rid of our only forward pocket that has impeccable set shot for goal. clever stuff
-
The responses here typify the sort of stuff Dunn has to contend with. Dunn was more than good yesterday. Some of his 19 kicks were 50m+ goal assists. He had 0 clangers (one of only 2 demon players that didn't notch up a clanger). He also had 19 kicks compared to watson's 10. On that game alone, he will be safe to playout the rest of the year. Give opportunities to the right people and they will reward you.
-
there was actually nothing wrong with it. Not Dunn's fault that Bennell needed 2 buckets to pick up the ball. Dunn had 19 kicks, watson had many ineffective handballs in those 32 touches. plus, Dunn kicked a goal.
-
Interesting that only a few days ago there were calls for him to be not only dropped but delisted :S People need to open their eyes. He had elite disposal today and provides much need height and bulk around the contests. He kicks long and is very aggressive. 2 year contract minimum.

it's a photo shoot, what did you expect.lol
-
more than happy to be wrong.
-
im so happy that im wrong with petterd!!! i wonder who the melbourne is that apparently wants to go though?
-
I disagree, there's no need to make brain fade mistakes. Most of the goals of the top 4 teams occurs from great football. You don't see Geelong making any silly mistakes. They all have a high football IQ. We only have a few that seem to have it.

It's very easy these days to get caught up in statistics and to refer to them when judging a players game. But I've found that this season the majority of goals conceded have been related to our errors. For instance: -Jamar hitting the ball into the empty central corridor for the Saints player to run onto and kick the goal -Moloney handballing straight to the opposition in the first quarter. -Kyle Cheney 50metre penalty -Jack Watts missed target to a melbourne player. That resulted in a shot on goal (not sure if it went through), -Watts missing the spoil altogether and going to ground allowing the Saints player to run into the 50 and slot one. -Frawley kicking out but stepping over the line. (Didn't result in a goal however) - Whoever the player was that gave a free kick to Dal Santo in the first quarter. It wasn't necessary and cost us a goal. -Neville Jetta lined up a Saints bloke to bump but missed him altogether and the Saints just ran in their numbers before Hayes kicked a goal. One thing we didn't do today was kick into the man on the mark. just out of interest, did anyone else notice these errors. If not, what errors stick in your mind?? (and yes, i know im focussing on the negative but whatever!)

Bartram - unconvincing display today Bate - hair, not there. Bennell - not enough sherrin Bruce - no noticeable clangers Cheney - Can do better Davey - tried but failed Dunn - some promising signs Frawley - Not his best Garland - some good kick-ins Green - pushing for All-Australian Grimes - an unfortunate injury Jamar - hitouts to disadvantage Jetta - much like Bennell Jones - opponent ran wild MacDonald - much needed muscle McKenzie - battled really well Moloney - good contested work Rivers - didn't do much Scully - hardly saw him Spencer - has no skills Trengove - in our best Watts - finally got leather Melbourne: Need better footskills
-
Dunn was in our best today whereas Morton has recently been justifiably dropped. Dunn will stay in for sure.
-
I wonder why Dunn has started to hit some form? Maybe, because he is being played as a forward now. Lynden, you can thank the MFC for wasting the past 2 years of your football life.
-
Just look at Brad Miller. If we're being fair, newton deserves at least as many games that miller got.
-
are u embarassed? Clearly, I was referring to the National Draft. And no, Panos was not drafted and hasn't played a game.
-
disagree. Petterd and Jurrah are better forwards than Bate
-
Take with a grain of salt. Panos from SA was in the AA team last year and wasn't even drafted. WHo of this lot are key forwards? can someone tell me.
-
Well by all means get excited but just remember that it was me that was spot on about Bell, Bate, Miller and arguably morton. At some stage, most people here were crowning these players as superstars. The same people also sugested that Sylvia should be traded away because he had a slow start. Let me decide who to get excited about and who not to. Admittedly, Blease and Tapscott barring injury should have a solid impact at afl level.
-
way too premature. Blease is playing for casey reserves mate. Lets just take it down a notch

We're getting pumped

5 years ago it was obvious that we were not going to be competitive for a long time and that we were building a team from the ground up. I called for it at the time, and now I'm asking for everyones opinion.s Why didn't we trade Green, Bruce and Yze when they had SUBSTANTIAL trade value. Bruce would have achieved a pick near the top 10 as would Brad Green and Yze would have give us an early second rounder. None of these players are (or were) ever going to be big contributors in 2013 when we are in our prime. Yes, BRad Green is still playing good footy but will he in 3 years? Trading johnston for Grimes showed that its worth it so why didn't we do this with all senior players, that hadf trade value? I think it was Brisbane or Sydney that were going to give us a 2nd rounder for Brad Miller. We said no to that I believe. Yes, we have stocked up on young talent but we could have, and should have, stocked up on heaps more than we should have. Now we are lamenting the games of BRuce and Miller each week and praising the efforts of Grimes who we obtained from doing the right thing, that is: trading any player with trade value that won't be a contributor in our grand final year. Davey, for example, is not worth trading, because i believe he will be played in the forward pocket during our GF and do quite well.

add an extra 2 wins and 8.5 wins looks okay. Still don't know how we lost toe the dogs and we should have beaten the Pies.
-
haha, what else is he going to say? 'yes, i'm quite interested in becoming a member of the Gold Coast football team, I just went down there to check out what my future team mates were like'. Same with Ablett, like he is going to say that he has verbally agreed to join the GC FC when he is still a cat. He will have to wait til the season is over and that's why they delayed 'talks'.
-
Gysberts disposals were a bit too shabby for mine. Not a bad couple of games but gald to see him out. Think Dunn should stay in, Watts to go. That's all
-
The odds of Petterd staying are the same as Ablett staying. Ablett is definitely going and Guy McKenna along with the Gold Coast CEO recently bought a multi-million $$$ property at auction. i wonder who that is for? I have the exact address
