  1. If we are legitimately banking 'different ways to win' and can call on various strategies throughout the year based on opponent, conditions, personnel, etc. it would be amazing. Perhaps a bar set a little too high though!
  2. Great analysis and conversation! No question we are setting up deeper defensively and moving the ball from the back half more agressively both 'on foot' and 'by foot/hand'. We are better utlising our speed behind the ball (McVee, Rivers, Langdon, Windsor) and ahead of the ball (Kozzie, ANB, Chandler & at times Langdon & Windsor).
  3. Pleasant observation of insinuation, Palace? 😉 Jokes only. Seeing little Eddie warms the heart on a cold rainy Melbourne morning!
  4. A professional outfit our Demons from the Pres to the boot studder. It's never perfect, hasn't ever been perfect anywhere, but you can see the efforts they make to be connected to each other and the fans. Definitely agree with others that the players look to be enjoying their footy more as a group so far this year. They've put a crushing September behind them, lost a solider in Angus in outrageous circumstances and been battered pillar to post by the media but they will not yield. Win, lose or draw they've earned respect.
  5. Goodwin has proven to be loathe to make change above what's necessary. With sustained time off courtesy of a R6 bye I can't see anyone being rested and am of the view no one is currently due for ommission. So based on what we know to be facts today IMO, it's either no change or Pup Brown for Pickett Purely based on role Brown and Spargo are the closest matches but the latter is unavailable. McAdam probably not quite ready? Other options like Woey 2.0, Kolt, AMW, Laurie, Hunter, Sestan etc. play a different role. Not to say Goody couldn't/won't shuffle things around, just feel like evidence suggests it's not his preferred approach. Unfortunately for Taj I think this would mean he is sub again.
  6. Several years of gather rounds in SA feels like a good way for the AFL to pave a pathway for a 3rd team in SA. I think reports were that revenue for last years gather round topped $80m. Might not be until the early 2030s but it seems to me a 20th team is inevitable. The only other place you could put it would be WA but they are further away and won't have had the billion $ cash injection SA will achieve from 8 - 10 years of gather rounds. NSW & QLD markets are full and I can't see the NT working considering their economy, popluation and mid year weather. The NTFL season runs October to March
  7. Not Billings his best effort but the bloke hasn't played in 2 years, is learning a new system and was coming off a 5 day break. I think he's coming along ok. He will know there are competitors for his spot. Taj has had two small bites, probably not enought to stake a major claim though (tool us way to long to get Brown off and him on in the last qtr though). Hunter will need to prove himself at Casey. And eventually it will be impossble to ignore the Kolt.
  8. 5 days 8 points 100k very disappointed Adelaide football enthusiasts Mission accomplished
  9. The Ox's hit out to Cell, how f'n GOOOOOD?? and then, the finish., in the wet..top shelf! Neither can Maysie 😆
  10. A 20th team makes sense though and SA and WA would appear the most viable locations. At least both those states aren't completely broke like we are here.
  11. You're underestimating the deep seeded corruption. At the AFL it would make no sense at all to have the two SA teams play each other in Gather Round...This model provides cream for the investors (SA Govt) at no cost to the AFL 😀 Not really, but, the 3h 20m flight itself is only a part of the journey. It would be double that in total travel time when adding in travel to the airport, standing around at the airport, waiting to taxi, waiting to disembark, more standing around at the airport then bussing/driving home.
  12. Crows will crack in, desperate times in front of ~40k+ desperados but our class will see us home. Go Dees!
  13. Without wanting to count eggs late or hatch chickens early one has to think our change in gameplan makes Kozzy and Chin far more dangerous now we aren't continually cutting the ball off on the wings and banging it back into a packed F50
  14. No concern from me. JVR's effort has been stellar in the air and on the ground and providing good cover for Max. Marks and goals will come.
  15. Woey in for Chin May in for Marty Marty sub I was convinced that night and still am that we only lost that game by a miserable 2 points because it fell on my 40th birthday! 🤮 It was a great day otherwise and a fun game to watch until the closing moments! 🥳😖
  16. Absolutely massive win. If we can beat the crows and go 4-1 with 3 of 5 games interstate it will really set out season up...and we won't have to return to SA. Short breaks haven't been kind to us in the past though & crows backs are against the wall
  17. I've been to Adelaide. That group would be top 10% most attractive, from my experience...
  18. Hit the right hand goal post unfortunately
  19. BBB and TMac... who saw this coming??
  20. Playing differently this year. We won't lead the I50s as much as we have previously.
  21. Outstanding win, 4 qtrs effort across all lines. Don't underestimate it, on the road, rolled the sleeves up and went to work. ANB BOG Lever huge Trac measured Gawn leadership personified Brown & Fritsch finishing with class Caleb absolute Jet JV7's heart is as big as the Adelaide oval Could go on all night...soak it in!! 💪
  22. Agree. Blanketed Naughton, as he has done countless times. Dogs goals came from bontempelli and unlikely sources like Treloar and Johanissen, talls couldn't get a snifter... 💪
  23. Thanks for sharing Rab. Good listen...good people.
  24. Wow. Good observation. Jackson was certainly the one that got away & had we kept him we'd have not had Grundy
  25. That was great play from Brown, super smart. His long run up actually adds to the space in front for others to run into. If not a set play already, it should be from now on!
