  1. Agree. I think Ed's form from the Carlton game has been good. Looks to be on the improve compared to 2023. Covered a lot of ground yesterday to plug spaces and a lot of that running he does knowing it won't be rewarded with possession but potentially saves/sets up scores
  2. The dogs backline was seriously undersized but one had to be impressed by Ben Brown. Seemed to move as well as he has since his time at Melbourne, getting himself high up on the wings to provide and outlet and then actually clunked a few with clean hands. Our fixture is a bit tricky for the next three games. Hawks then two games in Adelaide in the space of 5 days. It feels like Ben's form is good opportunity to get VFL game time into Petty and maybe seek to have him back for that second game in SA? That might also be a good time to rest Ben if he get's through the next two games successfully
  3. 6. Gawn 5. May 4. Oliver 3. Petracca 2. Chandler 1. Billings
  4. Very good win, played four quarters and improved as the game went on. Very pleasantly surprised by the output from Brown and McDonald. The captain flexed his muscles and showed he's still the best in the business. Good game from JVR, may very well be out best option for 2nd ruck. May is the rock of Gibraltar. The astronaut must see him in his nightmares. And... welcome back Mr Oliver. Make them all eat crow Clarrie.
  5. Report states AMW played across half back and kicked two goals. Normally plays forward? Great game or a confused writer?

Was just thinking the same thing BBP

Both Essendon and hawthorn have bottom ten defensive models but their disposal by foot is (sadly) better than ours

Archie Perkins. And 2 metre Peter would solve a few problems for us.

Couldn't agree more LT. Swans ran in waves and broke the pies open in q2 and 3. Swans should have been leading at QT. Only late goals from the pies and some sloppy set shots from Sydney prevented a real belting

We will have a better clue tomorrow as to if our efforts against the swans, on their ground, in tough conditions, with a makeshift forward line was actually pretty admirable. Seeing what they did to the pies last night, on a full size ground, does give the impression they are contenders. Exciting times for bloods fans

Playing good footy Jesse. Looks to have his body right. Would have him back in a heartbeat but it seems more sensible for him to stay where he is.
  12. Tommo stiff. But if he stays in and Tmac not picked there is no back up for Max.
  13. It will hurt if we lose...but it makes sense to give the old guard a shot early in the season. If they can't do it and we fail, it will be time for the kids and recruits. Verrall, Fullarton, disco (eventually), etc...
  14. I think TMac will play on Lobb and follow him into the ruck. Brown and JVR can be left to play as proper forwards. Tmac or brown get subbed if we need run late.

Agree Monoccular. Not Sure we know for a fact he wants out. It would be fair to say he wants the best deal he can get & he likes the idea of being able to live in SA where he grew up. Seems reasonable.

We're in a strong position. The club played this really well last year. Particularly with them knowing full well 2024 will be Brown and TMacs last year. At the end of 2024, with a year to run, we should seek to re-sign Harry long term or trade him to the Crows for the best deal possible. Dragging it into his final contract year before FA wouldn't be ideal. We should be be in a strong position financially so can either make a good long term offer to Harry or go shopping with a swag od picks and money in the bank.
  17. Tommo too slow for JUH. Horses for courses. But yes, he's stiff.
  18. May and lever won't be the only tall backs. Tmac is in to play on Lobb and maybe follow him into the ruck (my read)
  19. Irrespective of her point it's a very strange comparison from Roffey. I can't imagine Tiger Woods wishing to be more like John Daly ... (ok maybe a bad example). Would Rory McIlroy wish to be like John Daly? Would the Yankees ever publicly wish to be like the Mets? The Celtics like the Lakers? Man U like Man City? Ricky Steamboat like Ric Flair?
  20. Agree. He is too slow to play on JUH though. Feels like: - Hore to JUH - McDonald to Lobb - May to Naughton (always done well on Naughton) - Lever to stay loose Fullarton or BBB I have no idea?
  21. I read that to be Tomlinson as sub. And McDonald playing back?
  22. Max or JV should go to the central umpire before the first bounce and (very politely) say we're going to count how many times Max get's bumped unnecessarily off the ball and give you the running score at the end of every quarter
  23. Not sure we trained all preaseason for him to play on the ball. I could be wrong but my read was this had been a thought bubble for some time but was only really activated once we lost Angus
  24. Good point DJ. Hopefully he was just behind some good talls at the Lions and like other talls needed a little while to mature 🤞
  25. We had 4 A grade mids until Angus' retirement so our depth looked pretty good. His loss exposes Sparrow & Laurie, and Hunters injury exposes Windsor. Salem was a good solution until Bowey's selflessness but us on the backside. Windsor will make it, but IMV not ideal he's having to own a wing after 3 months of training. I'd wonder if Woey is not a better option? Knows the system, KMs in the legs and a man's body. Caleb's speed and kicking is tantalising but is he ready?
