Wouldn’t mind having the AA ruckman starting the game in the ruck this week

ANB has the tank to go Neale, I’d rather Harmes up forward as he is way more damaging by foot and going forward.
-
Half decent KPF’s are probably looking at our atrocious delivery into our forward 50 and not wanting a bar of it
-
Our game allows for little to no flare, a problem when we are slicing our 1-wood continually into the rough.
-
Yep was overwhelmed
-
Lucky imo, as he went in with a raised forearm

If we win the flag from here I will..

If we manage to win it from here (unlikely), it would trump our drought breaking flag from last year by a long long way -
The only good thing to take out of our loss is I believe we are at least on the right side of the finals, as I reckon Filth could’ve taken it right up to us with their game style. Though I don’t like that defeatist type of reasoning.

GF worthy

Ironic, the filth lose the close one to miss out on getting straight through to the PF

Draw!

What a grab by Rohan

Filth V Swans GF? 🤮

Should be Rock Paper Scissors best of 3.

This may very well be the game of the finals. GF worthy

This may be the only time I’ll ever be cheering on Geelong 🤢

For our game plan to work, everything needs to go right. Our defensive setup is known by all and sundry, as is the majority of our forays forward (hey let’s attack to the pocket and make it hard for us to score). Obviously this is to setup better defensively, but when teams are happy to counter by switching and then going fast, it really exposes us. Too late in the season to change it now, hope for the best, but Goodwin and co need to develop different strategies both offensively and defensively for next year. Throw in that fitness no longer is our advantage and that our midfield whilst great in the contest continues to lack outside spread, pace and skill, a non-existent C-grade forward line outside of Fritsch and Kozzie cameos (Spargo whilst good by foot just does nowhere near enough), and way too many passengers compared to last year. It will take a miracle to go all the way this year (though miracles do occur). Ill be there again next Friday, as should every Dees fan, but I doubt they will all come. Many only want the easy ride. Kudos to the Swans though. They were magnificent last night and will take some beating now that they have a home PF (and to be fair, I’d much rather the Swans win the GF ahead of the filth and Cats, if we are not in it). But onto next week. Carn Dees.

The most disappointing part of the game today was during the fourth quarter, some older generation Melbourne supporters felt that they were within their rights to have a go at a very young Melbourne supporting girl for wanting to watch the game up close on the fence. They quite aggressively argued with the poor mother that her daughter was getting in the way of their view and that because they had paid $100 for these tickets (everyone in the area did) that they were more deserving of being treated like royalty. The sense of self entitlement was disgusting, and thankfully quite a few of us surrounding Melbourne supporters stood up for the girl and her mother (both of whom were quite visibly shaken). Some of our supporters are very thin skinned and really do not help us in trying to shed the ‘elitist’ tag that we seem to emit. These are probably the same ‘supporters’ who won’t turn up to the SF next week, as it’s gotten all too hard again to support this club

Completely agree @WERRIDEE. We were comprehensively outplayed and out coached. The final score line flattered us a little I feel. Our Achilles heel has been exposed for all to see for almost the entire second half of the season. I guess we get to see next week which supporters will be separated from the weak and the chaff. We are still in with a shot this year, however unlikely.

Yep think we have to, for structure alone. There also needs to be 2 smalls at the drop of the ball every time. Not negotiable
-
Entire forward line aside from Fritsch needs to have their positions up for grabs. BBB is not the long term answer, but wow he was done no favours with the quality of our forward 50 entries (deep to the pocket, rinse & repeat). As for our smalls, non existent both offensively and defensively. No one was front and centre when it came in, nor was there any pressure to keep it in.

No. Simply no.

We are fumbling too much, and they are soooo clean. We knew they’d try and gets us on the switch and we haven’t had a plan to stop them.
