  1. I agree Bub. Garry's name does pop up every now and again. He's a quiet contributor around the club. I'd much prefer that than having a Dermot around the club telling our players to go out and start a brawl.
  2. Gah. I was hoping this would be a big fat legitimate rumour. I don't know about anyone else but I find myself trawling every last corner of the internet at present for the latest Judd "goss". I can't remember the last time I was this rumour thirsty. Funny none the less though, nice post!
  3. Ha! In :D
  4. I call BS. Just doesn't sound "in character" for Brock. Thanks anyway.
  5. Nobody, he walked in the PSD.
  6. RGRS, the clause from the CBA says this: To me that's pretty clear. The player actually has to agree to any trade, presumably to prevent the situation that happened with Newport mentioned on one of those other threads, and why we've still got Ryan Ferguson when we could've had Brad Sewell:
  7. Of course you (as those in charge of the trade) are obliged to muster up the best trade you can. If you make unreasonable offers though, the rival club is going to tell you to get stuffed and you miss your big fish. Remember when Essendon offered pick 35 to the Bulldogs to Scott West? It's why nobody ever deals with Essendon, because they're a pack of ....s at the trade table. So by all means play hard ball, but you can't go too far the other way because the other club is going to slam the door on any possible trades.
  8. Bruce signed a new contract this year, so he is off the table. Pity really.
  9. I wish you'd stop hanging it on Lyon every chance you get as if he owes the club anything at all. He doesn't. That said, if a phone call from him would make any difference at all in getting Judd here then I hope it happens. I seriously doubt it would make any difference at all though.
  10. If they've offered him a three year deal, then my next question will be "what's in it for us?". Two years or bust for Robbo IMO. I hope the club stick to their guns on this one.
  11. I agree. I lost count of the number of people who reckon they had a source at Carlton with the whole Voss saga. No doubt they had a source, but in most cases the sources turned out to just be rumourmongers who liked the sound of their own voices. Forgive me for being just a little bit skeptical of anyone who claims to have a "source" at Carlton.
  12. Last night had little to do with shinboner spirit and everything to do with the fact that a) they played better footy because B) they were fresh from their non-performance against Geelong and c) the Hawks purely and utterly ran out of legs in the last quarter. It was there for all to see, see Birchall's effort out on the wing? The guy couldn't move.
  13. I'm with you on this one, throw everything at him. As others have said if that meant a trade such as Bruce, Sylvia and pick #4 then so be it. Not enough? At the very least, it jacks his price up to other clubs.
  14. He's worth a second round pick. What's more use though, a kid taken in the second round, or a forward who could kick 40-50 goals? I'm not sure I'd bother trading Robbo for a draft pick, I think he's more useful to us than what his currency is. I'd trade him for the right player though.
  15. Hannabal summed up perfectly. These guys have done what most of us would give anything for, and both have made the absolute most out of their god-given abilities. I definitely think the club are moving in the right direction here.
  16. I've edited the title so people know that this is still hearsay and not indisputable fact. That said I hope this is true. I've thought all year that both would stay because they both had (relatively) good years, but the more I think about it the more I agree with the "no skill, no spot on the list" principle. Especially after watching Geelong recently. If you have woefully bad disposal then IMO it cancels out any benefit you bring to the side and then some.
  17. He's already here -- posts as calabreseboy.
  18. Just to clarify, the 'bests' BRB posts are the official ones.
  19. Aaron Davey.
  20. Personally, I'm pro- anything that encourages people to try and use their brains a little before they post. I'm keen on the idea of best poster. Best mod award though? I thought you all hated us all? :D

I absolutely detest their club song, but not as much as I detest Collingwood. Go Swans.
  22. The most deserving winner won, IMO. Happy with that result in the end. Well done Jonesy.
  23. I agree, I'd be surprised if Pendlebury won given the year Joel Selwood has had. Selwood has been an A grade, top performer in a near unstoppable team.
  24. Thanks Bazza. I'm interested to see how Newton and Bode go for Sandy now that they've both had a good hitout in the MFC seniors.
  25. Like you all, I'm absolutely shocked there's no Dees in there this year. My sarcasm meter is about to explode. So's my disinterest meter, for that matter.
