That's what I was thinking too. Scrap value.

That's a pretty good deal for both parties I think. It's the way trades should be done: identify your target, cough up a fair price, do the trade. It's the way Sydney have traded for years. The alternative is the Essendon approach of try and screw the opposition over as much as possible then moan and complain when all the other clubs tell you to shove it up your jumper.
-
Given that the player has to agree to any mooted trade, I can't see how the club has much in the way of bargaining chips in these cases.

You just gave me a bloody heart attack.

Thanks all - though I reserve too much excitement until the site really cops some stress. 725 users online now though and still flying, hopefully that's a really good sign. Think I might spend some time with Mrs Nasher this evening

If this one isn't up to scratch it's going to be where the F is Nasher, because I'm going to flee to the Seychelles or something.

Hopefully this is the last time.

You could look at the quality of the player. One possible alternative could be to look at the actual rules instead.

Jack has the tools to be a better player than Todd was. I hope he chooses to create his own history, therefore improving the legacy rather than continuing it. Keep number 7, son.

Go back and read what he's posted, he's only been posting it all year. Also, they finished first, and we finished basically last. Consider what difference that may make when pondering draft positions.

Was lucky to get a third season in the first place IMO. I tipped him to be delisted at the end of last year and was surprised at how howled down I got. I doubt anyone's too surprised this time around.

They do have control over it, it's up to them how often they refresh and so on. My Telstra phone is taking ages to see the new site, but my iinet home account saw it an hour or so later.
-
Yes, this will fix once the demonland.com transfer takes place. Should only be a few hours. If you're using the site2 address, remember to check back to normal demonland.com address every now and again.
-
Why would they be annoyed other than for the usual "let's hoard all our players" syndrome footy supporters seem to have? He's not in their best 22 and it's stupid to think that a player would be happy just kicking around in the twos waiting for his opportunity forever. A player in that situation would have my blessing.

We appear to be online. Let me know if there are any issues.

All, The site will go offline shortly ready for me to pack it up in to moving boxes and ship it from Japan back to sunny Melbourne. She'll be home in an hour or two. Don't you wish you could pack up and move house that quickly? This should solve the problem of the site failing to cope under any sort of load.
-
How's it now?
-
The problems definitely happen when the site is busy - no doubt about that, but it's not the normal "server under heavy load" things you see like memory/CPU/hard drive being hammered; the server never seems to be under any great stress. I can reproduce the problem with a tool I've got that hits the site with 500 connections at once; the first 300 load the site in 1-2 seconds and the last 200 often have to wait 20+ seconds; it agrees with the symptoms of it being fine for others and dog slow for others. I suspect by closing your browser you will join the end of the queue to get a connection again and you'll see a big performance crash. It's a good lead, anyway.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DANIEL CROSS

The second situation is the case, but there seems to be some doubt over whether he's been officially delisted or not. -
Are you finding that it has short periods of being really bad, then long periods of being okay? During a period where you're consistently finding it's okay, what happens if you close your browser and open it again - is it bad again? Weird line of questioning probably, but it does lead somewhere.
-
It's lightning fast for me at the moment, but was bad before. Scratching my head at the moment to be honest.
-
I used to think that way ("who could blame them for chasing success..."), but I've changed my mind. If you want success, drive it your bloody self. The best teams in the competition are all the best because they've done exactly that, and with Roos now on board a senior player like Sylvia is being given a golden opportunity.
-
Disappointed, but not shattered. I still think we'd be better off with him than without. Oh well.
-
How would you guys described the slowness you're seeing? Is it as if a] it takes ages to connect, ie sits on a blank or loading screen for ages and ages then suddenly loads? b] The pages load really gradually?

Think of the internet as a big series of roads; your computer is point A, the computer that runs Demonland is point B, and providers like Telstra are the roads. Most customers use a super highway to get to Demonland, but occasionally there's road works on the highway and the there's hundreds of cars stuck in the traffic. Other users are okay because they use a different highway to get in. Anyway in this case I'm not sure that's the problem, because I find it's great then really bad then great then really bad. I can't see anything amiss on the server, the load is pretty normal peak load and I've seen it perform much better under twice the traffic. Have to keep looking around I suppose.
