Very few of those you've nominated as flankers were drafted with the intention of actually being developed in to flankers; most of them just ended up there due to not being good enough to start in their nominal positions. For example, Jetta was described by BP as a grunt inside midfielder, and Morton and Toumpas were elite running midfielders as underage players, and Sheahan was supposed to be a KPP. Really I think the list of "flank" players amounts to a more convoluted way of saying we drafted too many crap players. I realise that's not the OP's intention, but that's what it boils down to for mine.

Very early days for them all though. I guess I'm just excited at the evidence of a potentially good player developing in to an actually good player.

It will be interesting to see if the B&F results reflect the lopsided result on here. Hopefully he can pull a vote or two in the Brownlow too, though key defenders in losing sides don't tend to be in favour much.

Given that we've still got players in the MFC 22 who either aren't quite ready or aren't quite good enough, it shouldn't come as a surprise there are a bunch of players playing at Casey who aren't ready or aren't good enough.

The sad thing is, we've seen them attack. Especially in round 1. I struggle to believe that they're under instructions not to attack. The ball use was *horrendously* slow in the first half; by the time they disposed of the ball, Sydney had completely shut down every option. I don't consider myself much of a footy analyst but the TV cameras were favourable, and even I could see the options closing down in front of my eyes, while our player just held on to the ball. On the odd occasion we moved the ball with a bit of speed, we looked dangerous. We've got at least two genuine, serious scoreboard threats in Hogan and Garlett, we are just incapable of getting the ball down there quickly enough. I don't know what the answer is. It's bloody frustrating.

Yes. They're getting it through the middle and forward with ridiculous ease, while our rebound of half back just gets slaughtered in the middle and at half forward. The scoreboard reflects the pummeling we are getting. Far out this is frustrating.
