Yes, it was on Number 5. Go Number 36!

Maybe he's getting them sharp.

There were at least two goals in the GF that came from his play or pressure. Spargo's in the first quarter, and Langdon's in the last following the passes by Pickett > Fritsch (boundary) > Langdon

I don't think you can even program ring tones like that any more, can you?

I have close to 100% reliability with Kayo on a Sony Bravia Google TV connected to 7Mbps ADSL. Even in HD! A Samsung phone on the same ADSL is also good, but if I use mobile broadband instead it buffers some of the time from evening congestion. Some evenings my mobile broadband tests at 3Mbps. ☹️ I also had a few problems with Kayo when I used a Chromecast, but ditched it when I bought the Google TV.

He doesn't miss too many, but it's interesting how many of his goals just sneak through close to the left-hand goal post.

Just some long-lasting satisfaction and a hint of quiet smugness. 😇

Same old, same old. Just another year older.

There's no way after his grand final effort that Tom Sparrow plays at Casey.

The usage of "ton" in this context most likely derived from the old measurement of tonnage in shipping, where a ton was taken to equal 100 cubic feet of general cargo space. Anything that reached 100 (e.g cricket score, vehicle speed, number of pages) became referred to as "hitting the ton".

Good old Dr.D. Always the pessimist. Where's he gone?

Tom S****y West Adelaide/SA Ruck/key forward, 201cm, 83kg Tom S***** is yet another tall prospect from West Adelaide to watch. He worked alongside Barnett in the ruck, but the strong-marking teenager proved a strong target in attack this year, booting 23.10 in 10 matches. Highlighting his potential, S*****, in just the second under-18 match of his career, tallied 18 disposals, 12 contested possessions, four hitouts-to-advantage, two contested marks, two goals and 135 ranking points.

When Easton Wood retired he said he had lost pace. Watching him 5 metres behind Fritsch on every lead, you can see why.

Is Melbourne's midfield one of the best of all time?

They are all strong premiership midfields, but I think Brisbane and West Coast are the standouts. Get back in 3-4 years time and we'll see if ours exceeds those two. -
What they're saying about Max elsewhere
mauriesy replied to Queanbeyan Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
The Doggies midfield is deep and they have an excellent group of skilled players. But apart from Bontempelli, in my opinion they don't have the elite "power" midfield players (including rucks) that we are accumulating. You can see it in our players' strength and build. -
2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

The human race is getting taller! -
They kicked three goals in 30 seconds in the third quarter of the PF against Geelong. 17:00 Fritsch (50m penalty) 16:42 Gawn 16:30 McDonald

We beat them three times in 2021 ... at the MCG, GMHBA and Optus. Time to get over the hurt.

I don't know, but I bet the club has it all under control.

We've built our team around a number of vital on-field elements (not an exhaustive list). Call it Plan A if you like: an uncompromising defence with the necessary key position backs half-backs with high DE% who can defend and then attack from the back half rucks who can also play flexible positions and roles a tough, deep, fit inside midfield with high tackling numbers good outside ball carriers on the wings who are prepared to run hard both ways adequate marking tall forwards, not necessarily individual superstars small forwards who defend and pressure inside our own 50 and work back to defend the whole ground I'm guessing all of JVR, Bowes, Woewodin, McVee or M-W are recruited with the aim of fitting into the above elements. If that's the model others are trying to copy, the elements will be universal to every team trying to win. Only the quality of the players will differ (and we've got heaps of that). I don't much care for recruitment to fit fads, trends or models of "clusters" or "paddocks". ☺️

If the rival recruiters thought our draftees were that good, how come no-one selected them (especially Howes) earlier than what we did?

If a new variant is more contagious but has milder symptoms, that is a positive.

If you didn't want to put a vaccine into your body, you probably wouldn't want to ingest a monoclonal antibody. Vaccine resisters will still claim natural immunity is the only way to go (or that pills contain Bill Gates' microchips). Guess it will be good for those who cry out for a vaccination on their way into the ICU.

Another great article on our captain.

Just name them "gawns". It could become a measure of football grounds, like "sydharbs" is to water capacity. For large distances, like between grounds, you might need megagawns or gigagawns. -
Still, if you got 248 games out of a player that you drafted at #48, you wouldn't think you'd lost out.
