MCG Redevelopment
I had to laugh when the media reported that one advantage of Optus stadium was a cup holder in every seat. I thought they only compared cars like that. 😆

MCG Redevelopment
Profligate waste of money and the world's resources, just 30 years after construction. Concrete production is the world's single biggest industrial cause of carbon pollution, responsible for 8% of global emissions.

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
So we've now got six pages of discussion about an article (in the same rag that has been attacking Simon Goodwin), with the same conjecture that we had last time before he signed (about going west, presumably because of his brothers). All based on some journalist's total speculation. Why worry about something that hasn't happened?

2022 Champion Data Rankings
If Champion Data scored the merits of an apple tree, they'd measure the trunk, branches, leaves and the height, and ignore the quantity and volume of the fruit.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Yeah, like use of the term "hero". Even someone who runs a supermarket is a "local hero".

Slow web site
Yes, the banner image is 7488 x 1080 pixels with a file size of 7.06Mb. What's more it's a .png file which is much larger than a corresponding .jpg. Very few people use a screen size larger than 1920 x 1080 which is the standard HD television dimension. If they have a larger screen, they usually use a smaller window anyway. Loading it into Photoshop, reducing the size to 1920 pixels across and saving it as a jpg reduced the file size to 133K or about one-fiftieth of the size. There is still room for economy in image size for web usage, even with all the memory and speed we have available to us these days.

2022 Champion Data Rankings
The rolling 40-game average accounts for a few anomalies. Not saying they give a sensible result (for example, no way is Gawn below Hickey, Grundy and Darcy for 2022), but that's the metrics they use. So the assessment average includes the 2020 season where Melbourne was indeed fairly average, although the rolling points also diminish in value over time. Finish near the top of the ladder this year and we'll have 10 elite players when two top-quality seasons (40+ games) come into the calculations. However, the absence of Christian Salem from even the "above average" category is the most perplexing. Even on Champion Data's assessment, this year he was elite for Kicks, Handballs and Disposals, and above average for Marks, Tackles and Metres Gained, most of the metrics of an elite medium defender. Couldn't see Disposal Efficiency there either. Surely he is "elite" for that.

2022 Champion Data Rankings
Going on players named in other teams, if Fritsch, May, Gawn, Salem and Langdon are not elite, Champion Data is measuring the wrong things.

Scott: 2021 Cats/Dees Prelim Should've Been Postponed
So Scott wanted to advantage his team by postponing the game, but disadvantage us compared to the Bulldogs by shortening the time between the PF and GF?

It was an incorrect chemical but it wasn't Roundup. Rather than "dire straits", they are being repaired and will be back in a month or two.

Getting the jab
Just a word of advice. Don't reply to CoolX. He never has any proof to support his assertions let alone irrefutable proof, and just makes them up. He's the Donald Trump of Demonland.

2022 AFL Premiers Gold Logo Guernsey
The new one now follows their defined corporate colour. Most companies are adamant about this. The old one just took the navy blue of the jumper.

More 300+ game players for the Demons?
I just think it's harder and harder to make it now at any club. The game is getting tougher and faster. You need to play the equivalent of 25 games a season for 12 years, or 20 games a season for 15 years. Players also don't start now until they are 18-19. As an example, Tim Watson made it to 307 games starting at the age of 15 years and 305 days. He was injured in the middle of his career in 1986-87 and only played 7 games in two seasons. He finally limped over the 300-game line with a zero-game season at West Coast in 1992 and two limited seasons (16 and 9 games) back at Essendon in 1993-94. He retired at 33. Given ages and games, I can't see many Melbourne players making 300 games in the future (with the possible exception of Oliver). Certainly players who only have 150 games up by the time they are 27 will struggle.

Training Ground?
No need for soil, sand is the growing medium. That's the standard for things like golf greens. You can seed directly into the sand but it can take a few months to grow. For quicker results lay instant turf, although it's far more expensive.
- Extended contract for Simon Goodwin?

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Brian Taylor isn't a clown, he's just someone who hasn't kept up with modern football. He played it long ago. The idea that Angus Brayshaw was going to miss a goal because he turned his back on the goalposts as he walked back is just pop psychology. And the game was not about to be over even if the Bulldogs had gone 25 points up. BT can't even read a TV screen in front of himself. When he said that Fritsch is the only player to kick 5 goals in a grand final in the 2000s, despite there being a list of five previous players staring him in the face, he is just embarrassing.

Currently the stealth Omigod variation, not as strong but more transmissible.
