Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?
Cheap Seats replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
There was a rumor floating around and I heard it again on SEN a week or so ago. Not sure if it was Maxwell, Mooney or someone else said Devon Smith wanted to return to VIC. Now that is a player worth looking at PS - I know it's all just a rumor -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here

Cheers I was pretty sure he would have to be traded for but dont have the time to look it up atm.

Gee the Swans do it well. You have to respect how they operate. They identify needs and fill them. Smooth operators and a well run club. We have no idea if Tom is going to move but gee you'd hope the Dees aren't stupid enough to just let him walk. Don't get me wrong we will need to be compensated as Toms a RFA (im not 100% on this). And i wouldn't blame Tom.for choosing a club like Sydney. But depending on the deal (and i really respect our list management and recruiting teams and the great jobs they sre doing. Todd and Josh and everyone are doing a top job) it would really pee me off if Tom left. The AFL and their equilisation are rubbish. Poor clubs just keep rebuilding with picks while the strong stay strong and cherry pick talent to fill needs. You need to be GWS and have years of forst rounders to rebuild. If Tom goes then Hoges follows in 2017 i reckon I'll give up AFL. But until then will watch with interest. End rant. PS thanks for sharing Red and blue and its time, and i know nothing is concrete but as a betting man and history i'd put money on Tom leaving at this stage.

Just wanted to give some more love to Nev. He's been solid all season. Really rate and appreciate his efforts this year and reakly happy he's remaining a dee beyond 2016. I'll be watching with real interest where he finishes in the b&f.

You'd have to give up Petracca to get Rance. I can't see Tugs trading him for anything less then a high first rounder and decent player. Gun player... way too expensive

Sam MaClure- "Hibberd to Melbourne, 4 year deal"
Cheap Seats replied to Rod Grinter Riot Squad's topic in Melbourne Demons
That would make up for some of the pain of the last decade I would love to get him as a dfa.... -
A bit of pressure for positions never hurt any team bb The things our team desprately need atm are Compsure, decision making and experience. And all all are related to each other
-
Agree We desprately need another ball carrier & user. Melksham?
-
Is it strange that his brother is also unsigned as well? I'd have thought both would be required players By the way Tom's having a pretty good season
-
Thr positive is no one will remember this game by next year. It will just say 4 pts Glad we can win ugly

I dont understand the panic to rush clarry back to the 1s. With the vfl performing well and expecting consistent strong performances, as well as having blokes like Macca & goodey heading up development. I confident the mfc will get this kid right. I haven't looked up any stats but i remember seeing somewhere when he was in the 1s he was only playing 65 - 70% game time
-
Probably the same excuses used week in week out because they dont just dissapear overnight... it takes preseasons... but anyway not sure why i am bothering Anyway adc maybe you should just try enjoying the game since we are competitive now at least. I reckon our mids should get thr job done today. If not we might be in trouble. Dees by 5 goals
-
haha relax mate, you missed my point. There is no need to rush the kid has 19 let him build a tank. I also think he isn't explosive offensive enough with ball in hand. Something he will need to learn I watched a half I saw a couple of blokes that were too good for VFL Salem, Oliver and Weeds. All need some time to develop. I didn't mind Joel Smith as well
-
What's your preferred precedent? Trengove or Grimes?
-
I think he is a gun inside mid. Problem is to play inside mud for the 1s he has to be better then tyson viney jones etc. He is a very good player. And I've jumped on him as my but but he needs to develop some fitness and outside game. I hope he can have a big pre season and cement a spot in 2017
-
Excellent kick too
-
Terls on fire Salem too classy for this standard - hope he can build some fitness and get back in the 1s soon

If we lose to Gold Coast I will ...

Go on demonland rants -
Here here... very well said Tom and Jesse play the 2 most important positions on thr ground. Both are excellent talents. Must keeps in my book. You build the team around these 2 blokes.. Please please mfc and tom get the contact done

Im going to throw this out there so ppl i know i was [censored] last night... took me all night to settle down after the game... but I'm bloody proud of thr boys. Took it up to the flat track bullies (and we as a team haven't beaten flat track bullies in a long long time. I mean teams like Saints, Port, Crows and egirls) If we didnt make so.many mistskes (which was mainly due to our lack of experience) viney playing on inatead of playing to the whistle... that crap umpiring or the missed shots from players who normally snaffle thise shots. Dont be fooled ppl the egirls were on the ropes. We were smashing them in the contest and spreading but we just couldnt finnish because wce flooded back and it halted our run and ball.movement. we dont have the experience or quality to beat the flood just yet. But god damn how good is Petracca. Has already had a bigger impact then Jeremy Howe in what 10 games We have to back it up next week though. No excuses for mine
-
Dont tell me you found a positive out of thr game adc Surely the rain kept the game close it isn't because we are getting better as a team
-
How good was Petracca today. Cant wait for this kid to build an afl tank
-
That kent non free spot on. Umpiring inconsistency is so frustrating. Also was gawns hanball smothered? The one that was paid deliberate? I cbf going back to look
-
Typical Melbourne is getting belted by flat track bullies. When we have a team full of blokes who have olyed more then 50 games each rather then a team fuoo of blokes who have played less then 50 games I'll be as critical as the rest of you are
