Splitting Draft Pick 3
What my Cook reference wasnt good enough... i put 1 min work in to that. Maybe toumpas or Morton are more suitable references. Im all for trusting the people in charge - I'm pretty sure i said that. But let's not pretend the mfc doesn't have a long glorious history of f up draft picks. This isn't meant to be a pissing contest but i hope we dont get too clever. I don't claim to be in the know it's just an opinion

Splitting Draft Pick 3
That's never backfired on us before.... But in fairness at least this time the player is highly rated... Unlike one L Cook … you get the idea. our recruiting and development has been done to death and the list is long and distinguished. It will be interesting to see what we do and who we are targeting - you'd hope they look at blokes who are AFL ready first that can make an impact now as we're not rebuilding… But i'll leave it to the experts #Ps I'm not having a crack at you just continuing the conversation. Also I don't claim to know who we should pick up - history says we will fudge it regardless. Only blind faith keeps us here

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - MITCH BROWN
Was our only forward who put forward pressure on though. My point is ability, my point is why trade out a player and get in another NQR

Agree No harm in slagging off the players though... haha once 2020 officially starts all will be forgiven- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
For me it indicates the leaders are not good leaders. Focusing on player payments isn't their jobs. Probably indicates why as a team the MFC is so unsuccessful. But I also agree with above points that the questioning was leading and the comments could be out of context. Either way time will tell I do find the whole wages/payment debate a little bit pointless. The AFLPA require $XXX of the salary cap (I cbf looking up the actual value) to be paid every year. So what a player is paid in any year is really irrelevant. The team is the more important. Just take GCS as a prime example - how the hell does a unsuccessful team like that get in to cap trouble? The answer is in how the cap is enforced by the AFL and AFLPA What is fair is an irrelevant discussion - IMO list make up is a lot more important- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Thanks for the info @Canplay Not a comment directed at you - but I would have thought some of the senior leaders should be worried about being competitive this year and focus on playing some good football rather than assessing paypackets. Sounds like success isn't important to some. Seems to be very MFC thing to get caught up in.... You hear completely different stories at the successful clubs (Hawks, Swans, Cats etc) By the way I get how some players could be peeved at certain reported pay offers to FAs but they should also know what goes around comes around. I don't know why we bother....- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
He just said play ET, nothing about winning on the G, so we're still in with a chance?- Dees poach Port data analyst

Dogs and Hawks both won flags then failed to make the 8 the next season. Not really sure what you're point is here- Jack Martin
I can tell you for a fact that AFL house sign off on every contract- The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Is Martin a PSD chance?- The Dees/Roos Pick Swap Update Thread
Are you saying 2 pair can't win?- The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Late pick swap maybe? Rumors are the pick swapping is being saved for the excitement of the AFL draft. Plus teams need to know what picks they have before they can trade them - Thanks Dodo and Bell for wasting everyones time #AFLhouse making life exciting- Why are the Saints so attractive?
They haven't landed any yet Red - and Im not sure they'll get any the way the trade period is working out. It's all good and well to chase players but to land them is a completely different thing. I know we all love the media hype and the rumours are fun but chasing contracted players is extremely risky (Just look at the Swans) As much as he's copped a lot of flak (not attacking your Red just some generally commentary) Mahoney and Co have done well at landing players. The "price" aspect i think is overrated because you don't know what your going to get and how long it's going to take to develop draft picks I am looking forward to seeing what we do with Pick 3. Would love 2 top 10 picks or a later top 10 and a ready to go player, but that might be wishful thinking more than reality- Jon Ralph says Demons are effectively a basket-case team
I didn't read his article, im not going to give him clicks. But sadly he's right. What have we achieved in 20 years? I losing GF appearance and a prelim. We need to start being successful to wipe the smug grins off the likes of Ralph, Slobbo and Molloy/Maher and the other media fl0gs
