  1. Interrupted pre-season. Injuries during the season. He's been limited due to those factors as a kid. However, the coaches have done him no favours playing him off halfback this season. He's not great defensively, and others such as Bowey, Salem, Rivers have been used as the rebounders out of defence. It means he's played more lock down defence, and for a player of his talent and skillset, that's a waste and a mistake. You shouldn't need to waste years or your career playing in another position just to learn basic football skills like defensive spoiling or tackling. His strengths are his pace, evasion, and kicking (usually...). He's not being played to any of his strengths, and as a result has had a poor year, and gone significantly backwards from his debut season. He should never be near the defensive 50. We want him centre-forward where he can have impact by breaking zones and hitting the scoreboard. He's a victim of our old plodding inside midfield. We've got the likes of Viney, Oliver, Petracca, Sparrow all in the centre, and so our young kids are not getting time in this area of the ground to develop. Our future centre bounce midfield should include Langford and Windsor, and we should be prioritising this now and moving on players like Oliver to develop the next generation and clear salary cap. Windsor will be a star midfielder IMO. He showed flashes last year that he's the closest thing to a young Chris Judd that the league has seen in decades. Zero concerns with taking him at pick 7.
  2. Kalani will be a demon unless a bid comes far earlier than expected and we can't acquire enough points to match. On another note, I thought the rules meant Gold Coast and GWS can now only take a certain number of academy picks? They're no longer able to stockpile late picks to use for them, but I thought they were now limited with how many they could draft at all. Considering they have a top 5 prospect and another 2 top 20 prospects likely, I thought Kalani would basically be off the cards for them...
  3. ChatGPT can't answer this, so would take someone a lot of manual work to answer. I quickly looked over this season thus far. We have won the inside 50 count in every match except the Gold Coast and Hawthorn matches. We lost both those matches. We only lost the inside 50 count by 1 in the Hawks match, so essentially even. We have won the inside 50 count in 12 out of 14 matches this year. At a glance, this tells us we generate enough opportunities to win every week, and our conversion is the issue. You could argue the quality of the entries and shots etc, but the reality is we are the most inaccurate shooting team in the league. We give ourselves enough chance every week and if we had kicked at even middle of the table accuracy we'd currently sit top 4. We should have won far more matches this year than we have.
  4. He's played key defender for the majority of the last two years. Showed potential up forward tonight and given our poor quality tall forward stocks, you'd try him there. He will be a demon by the way. Bookmark it.
  5. [censored] yeah!
  6. Nearly a game winning lead to Saints here. What a disappointing effort today.
  7. Game should be over already, but we've kept them in. That inaccuracy and some of the decisions with the set shots have been downright pathetic. Sadly feel they'll get a roll on and we'll curse that wasted dominance and effort. Prove me wrong boys!
  8. Swans have a big injury list but are underrated I feel. Think this will be a close game and hoping we can control contest and get up!
  9. I'll always love and respect Trac, whether he finishes his career with us or not. It sounds like he's keen to stay put thankfully. Forever a Melbourne superstar, premiership player, and Norm Smith medalist.
  10. Thought we'd put in a good effort to stick with them to three quarter time and we'd lose them in the last quarter. Thank God I was wrong. How good is it to actually fight a game out until the end again! Supreme effort all round today with many contributors. Well done Dees!
  11. What are they saying now?
  12. Vale. "Give him a run in the ruck" will live forever. I say it regularly footy related and not.
  13. It was a Hawthorn member make up home game. They also have over 20,000 more members than us, so if they didn't have more supporters there it would be a shock. Hawks supporters are fair-weather. Dees supporters are among the most loyal there are. The narrative we don't turn up is demonstrably false and I'm [censored] sick of it. Hawks had an average match crowd of less than 3000 more than us last year. That's in a year where they made a semi final and we finished bottom 14th.
  14. Langfordddddddd Give him the Rising Star now and adjust his Brownlow odds. Superstar!
  15. Langford on track to become our best ever midfielder lol
  16. Christ the negativity on this site astounds me. It's hard reading here these days. Guerra is a fine appointment. It's a massive positive we finally have a CEO after being rudderless since last year. We have a CEO we great business background and the strongest possible ties to the racing industry while we surprise surprise try to lock Caulfield in as our clubs home for the future. A club CEO doesn't need football experience to be good at the job. He should have nothing to do with the footy aspects of the club and should be focused on enabling success through off field and business. He has footy admin and experts for the on field stuff, and if they can't deliver then we get new ones. Just look at Pert getting involved in footy list related decisions and how that went for us since late last year... This is a positive for the club. It's sad to see people on here vomiting up tish and hurling negativity at the club endlessly. I thought we were supporters not detractors?
  17. Of course he'd wind up at Geelong. They somehow endlessly get players go to them and keep under the salary cap. Free agent too, so costs them nothing as no trade required. That would suck.
  18. Agreed. After months of being rudderless, it's great to finally get a CEO locked in who appears to have the business chops to push us where we need to be. This is a positive day and it's a shame to see all the negative commentary on here as usual. Let's support our new CEO and look forward to positive progress. A new home base is the primary priority he'll be focused on and hopefully he can deliver where our previous few leaders have failed.
  19. 100% agree. He looks passionate too, celebrates hard after kicking goals. He's got a knack for finding the scoreboard regularly as a midfielder. I believe he'll become our next Trac, Clarry, Gus level midfield star. Super excited to get him to the club!
  20. Richmond won 3 flags with Nankervis as a ruckman and using midfielder Shaun Grigg as backup ruck. It's unlikely we'll be going up against another dominant ruckman like Max in future. Even if we do, reality is rucks are one of the least impactful positions on the ground. Flags are usually won with legitimate spuds in the ruck. We need to continue to invest in quality young mids and talls.
  21. Langford! Superstar in the making
  22. Uh oh bed [censored] incoming
  23. After we ousted him, he'd never come back. It was an obvious mistake to push him out the door. He was a superior player to many other players we later lost or delisted anyway. He was a key contributor down back during our premiership year and would've been a premiership player if not for an unfortunately timed injury at end of the season. Wish him all the best. Great guy and underrated player.
  24. Does Leppitsch have any ambition of being a senior coach again? From memory he's been an assistant at multiple premiership clubs and seems to have the respect and nous to be a senior coach if he desired. We should be sounding him out.
  25. Hasn't looked like taking a mark for 12 months. No support around him but his marking form is horrific. At this point he needs to be tried in defense to save his career.
