Passed on both Cook and Carroll. Seems like a [censored] up, but just gotta trust the recruiters I guess!
-
[censored] you Collingwood! Wanted Macrae badly. Hoping for Cook and Carroll now!
-
Tigers will likely take Macrae with the pick before ours. Hoping for him and Cook though!
-
Come on Macrae, Cook or Carroll!
-
He'll be in the 2021 draft pool and likely to go to Freo if he's good enough.
-
Isn't Kobe Farmer 2021 draft year?
-
He'll slide a few picks due to that, but still well out of our reach. He looks a talent. He's the one under age player I saw live last year that looked to have real x factor about him. He'll become that prototype mid-forward like Dusty, Danger, Trac etc if he can get his body conditioning right. He has the explosiveness and skill.
-
AFL premiership coach at Port and key in developing Richmond into a premiership dynasty. Helped develop Dusty into a star and Cotchin from worst captain in the league to 3 time premiership captain? Nah his CV is rubbish ;)

Don’t mind it. Reeeeeeally don’t mind it! Good to see the club on the front foot and reckon Choco will be give great guidance to some of our leaders as well as youngsters. Welcome!

Dwayne is a [censored]. Don't pay any attention to his comments. He's probably the worst commentator and analyst in the media. He makes Dermott Brereton sound smart! To become a star, I reckon Jackson will ONLY make it as a ruckman and not as a forward. His best attributes are his leap, his reflexes and follow up on ground ball. He looks best when following up a ruck contest and getting involved in linking chain with other midfielders, similar to Grundy at Pies. As a forward, he struggled to read the flight of the ball, lead to dangerous spots, and was poor in contests. He's still young and has lots of physical development to go, but IMO he looked better suited to ruck and around ground play rather than as a tall forward.
-
Only inside word I've heard this year is that we're keen to trade further up the draft and we like Macrae and Stone.
-
Not unless we traded into the top 10. He's the prototype mid-forward and could go as high as pick 5.

1. Jack Carroll 2. Sam Berry 3. Kaine Baldwin

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Lord Travis replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
If we hold and use our current picks, this would be a dream result. I expect one of or both those players to be off the board by the time our picks come around. If we could land either of them I'd be happy. Both have attributes we lack and have potential to become long term AFL players. -
I thought he was not eligible until 2021? Also, he’s tied to Freo for both father/son and part of their NGA. He can still nominate us, but unlikely. Not sure he’s too highly rated regardless...
-
Probably the best possible outcome for us. Macrae won’t make it to us, and these two are next best suited possible at our picks IMO.
-
Agree we will trade up with a combo of picks like that. We did well to get two end of first rounders, however we’ve been snookered by other clubs (Ess, GWS) having more first rounders than expected. We need to trade up to get our hands on Macrae, Perkins, Cook or Carrol IMO.
-
Fair call. For some reason I thought he was 27. At 30 yeah he doesn’t offer as much and can see why he was delisted then.
-
Shane Savage just delisted. I’d take him ahead of a few on our list. Wouldn’t have bothered to sign up some of the depth players we kept on. Ah well!
-
No. Lost his pace and endurance so was relegated to deep in defence this year. His lack of endurance and speed has meant he’s struggled to get his hands on the ball, even in a strong team. His kicking skills are good, but definitely lost penetration the last year or two. He’s struggled with form and at his age it’s no wonder he’s been delisted. Family lives in WA so he won’t come across to Vic for a one year cheap contract. He’s not a really an onfield leader either. All adds up to a No.

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

Paywall. Did they highlight the same players being discussed on here or any surprises? -
Awesome news! WA clubs will come hard for him, so great to lock him away and keep watching him develop. He came on quicker than expected this year after struggling to pick up the pace early. He's a unique talent. Good stuff Jacko and club!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Lord Travis replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure how anyone could be negative about this trade. Brown is the most productive forward we've had since Neitz, and we essentially traded him in for a pick in the 30s. We basically traded Preuss (a 25 year old ruckman played 10 games) for Brown (a 27 year old key forward played 130 games for 287 goals). Even if Brown goes at 50% of his peak output, he'd still be our leading goal kicker! On paper, it's possibly the best trade the club has done this century. F*cking stoked we pulled it off! -
It will fall that way roughly after academy picks etc yes. It's why I think we still need to trade our way further up the draft board, as the players we'd be really keen on (Perkins, Macrae, Cook types) will go in the 10-15 range.

Would happily take Marley Williams or Pittard over a few on our list.
