  1. We Melbourne'd it 😭
  2. Agreed. Though it's hard for the youngsters to be enthused when they're dropped after debut games on limited minutes... The selection committee has been poor this season. As for tonight, I'm hoping to see more promising signs from Van Rooyen. He's looked likely since returning from concussion, and with Payne out he will have less tall defenders crowding his path if the ball is moved with speed. He's a pillar of our future, so his progress will be one of the few shining lights going forward in this disappointing season.
  3. Getting within 5 goals of them at their home ground would be considered a win for us tonight. Let's hope it's not another blowout near 100 points. Our season is over, we're now in rebuild mode and playing kids, but we don't want to completely shatter the morale and psyche of the players, as with a decent off season we can jump back up and be competitive next season. It's a fine line to tread to extract top draft picks without ruining the club in the process.
  4. No worries. We'll just wait until they all retire to draft the next batch of guns!
  5. Tanking and rebuild mode here. This coaching and selection panel is garbage and wasted a premier window the last few years. I'll always be thankful we won won, but it should've been more.
  6. I hope not because the elite young talent isn't there. There's no Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw, Kozzie level talents outside of perhaps Windsor.
  7. The club is cooked. Rebuild time.
  8. Are we tanking?
  9. Best of luck to him. I was impressed with him in his draft year. He's got a great work ethic and loves to crack in and try to use his speed too. His attitude could carry him far as a player, but he's still got some size to put on to compete at AFL level. His ceiling and aim would be an ANB pressure and link type player at the level. Keen to see how he goes against North. Won't die wondering!
  10. Agree with this. He showed great flashes in his games down back and could be a Lever replacement long term with intercept marking ability and versatility to play tall or short. Up forward... he's floundered. Should be played in defence permanently, despite our forward issues. Short contract of two more years would be about right. He hasn't shown enough continuity with his body or form to demand more.
  11. When were they? Watching on tv from a far during lockdown? Was great we finally won one, but I remember it with sadness with my dad crying on the phone as he battled through cancer. After decades attending nearly every MCG game together we didn't even get to enjoy the flag. It was horrible. We'll have to be content with tat for another fifty years it seems. I'm middle aged and will likely never get to watch a demon flag at the MCG. The club brings me nothing but misery. I don't know why I keep supporting so hard at this point.
  12. I'm ashamed of the club today. We've played like trash for weeks now, but not not stand up on a big day like today was so disheartening. Letting Maynard get through a full match of footy without giving him any physical attention after what he did to a beloved demon was shameful. One of the worst things I've say through as a diehard supporter of this club, and I've say through decades of [censored] at this point. Mentally weak. Shameful. Disappointing. Our premiership window ends with a whimper while that thug runs around like he's at training.
  13. And they're known as uneducated filth for a reason. Their famous cheer squad leader is a convicted pedophile. Why would any person of sound mind agree with their assertion?I f anything, our premiership in 2021 is worth more, as we dominated everyone all season long without any form of advantage. We were the outright best team both home and away season and finals. It was factually one of the most dominant seasons this century. Pies etc got a home ground advantage over an interstate clubs etc. Anyone discrediting our 2021 flag should be ignored and flogged before the masses for slander.
  14. Mini rebuild required at the club. We're not contending this year with this list and this game style. We've lost whatever identity and brand we had, and the players have gone into preservation mode as a result. The next wave coming through in Sparrow, Bowey etc have not come on, and as the old core is now on the slide, there's no one picking up the slack to make us competitive. It's sad that Gawn and May will retire in the coming years battling away in an uncompetitive team.
  15. Our core players are no longer consistently impacting games. They float in and out of games and even get beaten by their direct opponents now. The best teams have stars who always dominate. Our stars are fading sadly.
  16. Give Darcy the medal. He's a gun and he's doing God's work with the Maynard hit.
  17. He's from WA and was added to our list 2 full days before this match. I think he can get a pass for not having shifted his life already!
  18. This will be another overcorrection and disaster. Prepare for another unwatchable round of football ruined by umpiring, this time with even more game deciding unnecessary free kicks 💩
  19. Nothing. He has a choice to make. He is however a mad Demon and has been to down to Vic and visited the club multiple times. We've been welcoming him and his old man Jeff back for years, and had Kalani train with us when it was permitted. I'd be absolutely shocked if he didn't nominate us.
  20. Let's hope he's a Bartlett type. We would gladly take 40+ goals year after year.
  21. Quarters like that kill any joy I get as a supporter and spectator.
  22. He usually does. He's unlucky that he's at a club with May and Lever as tall defenders. He'd get a game as a tall defender every week at any other club in the league.
  23. Much better kicking today, though the Saints are applying next to no pressure. Keep the foot down and get this one over before half time boys!
  24. Good get by the Lions if they've managed to keep him. I was sure he'd come back home to Vic on a big money offer when he hit free agency. He's the sort of player we need from an offensive perspective in our midfield. The defensive side of his game is lacking though, so not the best suited to our current style IMO.
  25. Assume it's a compliment and most aren't aware of who Vince McMahon is and his recently uncovered indiscretions!
