Rumor Salem didn’t travel with the team and has been playing with a sore groin for a while. Explains his big drop in form since missing. Hopefully he gets a rest and can recover his brilliant pre-bye form.

Will get 1-2 weeks. Stupid thing to do from Jack. Completely avoidable and unnecessary. We were belting them in a nothing match, no need to put pressure on someone’s throat and trash talk him. Take a few weeks off and try to get your old self back Jack.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
Lord Travis replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
He’s had a good year, especially for his age, but he won’t be All Australian. Cameron, Papley, Tippa, Bruest have all kicked off goals as small forwards. He’s an All Australian of the future though if he continues this rate of development! -
GAMEDAY: Rd 20 v Gold Coast Part 2

Absolutely destroyed an absent opposition today. Goal kicking accuracy still an issue though. We won’t get 38 shots at goal again. Need to convert our shots more. -

What a difference kicking straight for goal makes! -
Not against him leaving if we get decent compensation. It would hurt our list age profile though, as all our key forwards are 28 or older (bar Jackson, who I consider a ruck not a forward). We would need to replace him with another young key forward IMO.

Not sure, but I know the club told him at the end of preseason that he’d be considered for the mid year draft. Obviously we took others mid year instead. Fallout may have occurred as a result of that? Speculation though. Would be sad for the Farmer family to have fallen out with the club.

We need to find form quickly. We’ve only won 4 of our last 9 matches, and only won 2 of our last 5. We’re a completely different team to that one that was 9-0. The midfield needs a reset. As good as they are, Trac and Clarry can’t do it all themselves every week. Gawns impact on games has been reduced recently, with less marking around the ground and less clean taps leading to clearances. Langdons form has dropped right off. JJs form has dropped right off. Brayshaws form has dropped off. Harmes has been poor all year with the exception of one March where he did a good tagging job. Viney has disrupted the balance in there since returning. We need to get the midfield firing again or we’ll miss top four and be out in straight sets. Fixing the midfield will mostly fix the forward line issues we’re experiencing. A few more set [censored] nailed and forward line is fine.

Unless we find form quickly, we’ll likely finish fifth and play elimination final against Essendon or Richmond. Essendon would roll us on current form. Tigers without Dusty would be an easier match up. This feels like 2004 all over again. Going well and top of the ladder, then fall in a heap at the end, finish fifth and go out in straight sets to the eighth placed team.

When we play them in finals, let’s beat them at their own game and try throwing instead of hand balling!

Fair few plodders out there for us tonight. Brayshaw, Salem, Harmes, Hibberd, Langdon all poor. That’s one win in the last month. Coaching staff needs to reset this group. Season is teetering on the edge now. -

We’ve played like [censored] and yet if it wasn’t for incorrect umpiring decisions we’d somehow be winning. Infuriating! -

Salem and Langdon were in All Australian form for the first 10 weeks or so. Since Salem missed sore and Langdon missed through concussion, both have dropped right off. Salem was ranked 10th best player in the league before missing. He’s not in the top 60 since. -

14-4 free kick count at half time. The club absolute needs to send a please explain the the AFL about the lack of free kicks paid for incorrect disposal/throwing. -

Time to start injuring them to compensate for the unfair umpiring. -

Game over. Umpiring is a [censored] disgrace, but we missed our opportunities. We desperately need to improve our goal kicking accuracy. We never kick more goals than points and it’s directly costing us games now. -

Dogs half backs controlling the game. Pushing up and thrusting it back inside their 50. Spargo and Pickett need to lock them down if we’re any chance tonight. -
Has good endurance and pace, but reason he slid out of the first round was poor skills. We were interested but obviously went for others and looks like we made the right call.

Yep let’s put the the torch on Bailey Fritsch for random acts of contact in a physical contact sport. Don’t worry about Tony Greene literally karate kicking people in the face or ducking to cheat. He’s got mental health issues, so better go target someone else eh. Don’t worry about Mumford intentionally belting blokes and ignoring the game around him. He’s a bit of a larrikin so he gets a free pass. You [censored] Derrrrm.
