  1. Surprised not to see May in the top 10 at this stage. Salem rightfully up near the top. The first half of his season was brilliant.
  2. You’re missing a few key players from your listed teams. Brisbane had Aker, Power and Lappin. This was a great midfield with Voss, Black and asked all superstars and Brownlow winners. Eagles missing Embley. Eagles midfield had superstar power, but not great depth. Hawks had Lewis, Smith, Hill. Decent midfield but IMO a level below the others in the conversation. Cats had Bartel, Corey, Kelly, as well as Chapman and Stevie J rotating through. The Cats late 2000s midfield is the absolute benchmark for both elite talent and depth. Ablett Jnr is the GOAT, Bartel a Brownlow medalist also. Joel Corey is one of the most underrated mids of all time. Selwood a champion. Ling one of the best taggers ever. Then great depth and rotating players. We’re a fair way off that group still and need to do it for longer. We have the potential to become an all time great midfield if guys like Sparrow keep improving. Gus, Harmes, Langdon, are all good role players, but would be considered depth in some of the above mentioned star studded midfields. We’ve got the rucks covered with Gawn and Jackson. Only Cox could lay claim to being better than Gawn, with 6 All Australians he just pops Max. We’re probably one good mid short of those great teams. If the youngsters keep developing and Trac, Clarry, Gawn, Viney all stay fit for a few more years then we’ll give this conversation a fair tilt!
  3. Trac signing Dees premiership footy this morning. Legend!
  4. Got a Dees premiership footy signed by Trac this morning. He’s a legend on the field and off the field! Can’t post photo from my phone as apparently file size is too big :(
  5. Finally got my merch delivered this week! Ordered night of the grand final, so was a long wait. Be patient everyone! I got Hoodie, polo, beanie, scarf, mugs, badges. Already got framed herald sun demon ages ago.
  6. I ordered merch hours after we won on grand final night and I still haven’t received it. Contacted the club last week and they apologized and said delivery got missed and never sent somehow (!) and they’ll send me out a new delivery express. Been a bit of a bloody wait! Walked around shops yesterday and they had all the merch I’d ordered through the club. Happy to give money to the club but jeez been a [censored] experience haha. Lucky we won so I’m still over the moon!
  7. We’ll take 3 kids, which is the minimum requirement of the draft rules. Van Rooyen last night, someone with a lock in the 30s and Woe jnr with last pick tonight. Theres a few good players still available, but not sure any will slide all the way to our pick if it remains as is. Hopefully Taylor and the recruitment team pluck another gem!
  8. Seems absurd that Daicos could slide to 4 before a bid comes. He’s the best player in the draft. Realistically North should bid on him with pick 1. Same happened with Tom Green a few years back not getting a bid until 10-12ish when he was clearly top 5 talent and has proven to be that. Mac Andrew at 5 is a bit of a laugh. Being compared to Jackson but output is a mile off it and his body will take years to stand up to the rigors of AFL. Must be a horrific draft for talls if he gets taken that high!
  9. Based on bugger all knowledge (highlights and random internet write ups), I’d like us to grab one of Van Rooyen or Chesser if they’re available at our first pick.
  10. Hard to see Gold Coast not folding. A decade in the league and never even got close to finals, even with all the concessions they were given. GWS have at least had decent onfield success. GC are a mile off and now have another embarrassing list move to add to an existence of blunders and failure. They’ve got bugger all supporters, surely they get moved to Tassie or fold?!
  11. Sounds like he’s going top, possibly even bolting to 4-5! I’m not professional recruiter and haven’t had a chance to watch live underage fans the past two seasons due to Covid. Based on highlights packages and write ups only, he shouldn’t be taken in the top 20 IMO. He’s too raw, and has been shown to struggle in key position posts. If he’s drafted, it’ll be years before his body is AFL ready. He’s nearly 20kgs underweight at this stage of his development and was soundly beaten by many other rucks this year at underage level. Whoever drafts him will need to be very patient. He’s no Dogga Jackson, not even close.
  12. Vanders was flagged as delisted. Could be useful for another club like Gold Coast but won’t be back at the Dees as not enough spots left and rule is we need to draft 3 players come draft time.
  13. Had a quick dig. Outside line breaker with good skills. Could be what the doctor ordered. I’m partial to these types to help compliment our awesome inside mid brigade. Langdon has been a revelation in that regard.
  14. With no glaring list needs, we’ll be going best available at 17 if we still hold that pick come time. Draft watchers, who’s likely to be around this mark that fits the new Melbourne model of competitor with class?
  15. Always a good way to get a freebie like we did with Dunstan. Can never have too much depth! Collingwood have delisted Brayden Sier, who I thought looked a decent young inside midfielder. Struggled to get game time in the guts due to Pendles, Degoey, Adams, Sidebottom etc. Geelong have delisted Charlie Constable also. Not the worst prospect out there. Not saying we should take them, but what are peoples thoughts? Do the rules permit us to rookie delisted free agents?
  16. Good midfield depth for us and a free hit under free agency. He’s no superstar, but can clearly fill a roll if required. Strange the Saints let him go as he’s clearly better than a lot of other mids on their list. Their loss is our gain in this case. Importantly Tim Lamb said in interview that Dunstan was a “good cultural fit”. We know how important culture is now!
  17. Best of luck to Nev. Sad he’s no longer with us, but he’s a great person and leader of young people, primed to become a great development coach.
  18. Seen it before and watching it again. Hard to watch to be honest, but what an incredible man Jim was. He showed more fight and love than most could ever imagine.
  19. Just advising the forum that Brayshaw won’t be traded. He’s just got MFC 2021 premiers tattoo on his [censored] hahaha. He’s red and blue for life!
  20. [censored] unreal feeling. Well done to all involved!
  21. Need to tidy up stoppages and stop allowing Daniel and co to sit off the back of packs. Few of of our players MIA and need to get into the game. Kozzy could be the spark.
  22. Have medical subs been confirmed? 7 news said it was Jordon on Thursday night, but it doesn’t get picked until an hour before the game I thought…
  23. Time to dust off your sniper rifle
  24. First Goal: Naughton Norm Smith: Christian Petracca Most Goals: Bayley Fritsch Winning Margin: Dees by 21 points
