  1. Hopefully it's not too serious, as stress fractures in the foot can be troublesome to overcome properly. We need Trengove to be fit and firing, as he is a captain, but more importantly one of the few midfielders on our list with potential to be an A-grader.
  2. Eight wins gets us back to where we were under Bailey. We need to play finals, and fast. Anything less is failure. Our club has been at the bottom of the ladder since 2007 and we can't last there too much longer. We play finals, or it starts getting even more ugly.
  3. Anything less than finals is a failure. We've been down the bottom too long and if it takes nearly 10 years just to be competitive again then there is no hope for our next flag. Finals 2013!!!
  4. The kid definitely needs new management. It's amazing that after what's happened the last few days he's still got public facebook photos! Surely they would have told him to get that stuff set to private or removed entirely? Anyway, we won't go near him. He is the opposite of Neeld's mould, and would contradict the culture we're attempting to build.
  5. The most worrying part is in other photos he's drinking UDL's... what kind of man drinks UDL's?!?!
  6. It's more than a ciggie. Until a few weeks back he had a photo on his Instagram account of him that involved him taking drugs like he was in Scarface. Any club that picks this kid up will have to deal with a media onslaught. Clubs barely picked up a Brownlow medalist in Ben Cousins when he was found to be into drugs, so why would they bother with an unproven kid with bad attitude like Garlett. He's not worth it and his afl career is likely over before it began.
  7. Keep in mind some of those highlight clips are from last year when he was 16-17! The stats above are wrong also. He now weighs a touch under 78kgs, so he should hit the 80kg mark after pre-season. No worries at all about his build, and he'll get his own ball if he needs to. This kid has the desire and drive to succeed.
  8. Cross-post from another thread as to why he wasn't drafted. Is it possible to have drug strikes before you're even drafted?
  9. He has a terrible attitude. If you can find the link to his instagram account, you will see countless photos of him smoking, getting [censored], and worse... Anyone who is partying like that clearly doesn't have the dedication and desire to knuckle down to be a professional athlete. I'm guessing if that's what the public can see, imagine what the recruiters found when they interviewed him and did background research about him. He is certainly a talented footballer, but no club would take a risk on someone with an attitude like that. He will need to knuckle down and earn his way from here if he really wants to play football.
  10. F*cking ecstatic to land Toumpas at pick 4! We've got a winner here everyone! I gave up on getting him after we traded away pick 3, but we are super lucky he slid to us. He has a fantastic work ethic and is a real talented leader. Also, watching his interview on MFC.com is gold. He is so excited to be part of our club. Look at that grin and when he describes running down the wing of the MCG passing to Mitch Clark! I haven't seen anyone that excited before. Really heart-warming to see and I reckon he's gonna be a star for us. WELCOME ABOARD JIMMY!!!
  11. "It seems like a great club and I'd be over the moon to go there." Jimmy Toumpas keen to join ‘awesome' Demons
  12. Would like to see us draft Anthony Bonnadio. Purely based off his highlights video, but he could be a livewire up forward if he can make the most of his speed and defensive pressure. Nick Rippon is a smokey as previously mentioned. Speedster who accumulates a bit of ball. Could be worth a late pick or a rookie spot.
  13. With the culture Neeld and co have been building, he would not fit in. We want hard workers who don't [censored] around. He f*cks around big time and doesn't have the work ethic to fit into our elite environment. He also isn't a huge talent like say a Ben Cousins to take the risk on. That's a "No" from the Melbourne Football Club.
  14. If true, then we have done very well this off-season and picked up another player with elite potential.
  15. This should be on the Draft and Trading Board. Toumpas without a second thought. Tremendous work ethic, good leadership potential, steps up when his team needs him, good pace, agility and skills. A more rounded player really. If he is available at pick 4 and we don't take him then we've stuffed up.
  16. This sounds good to me. We should take some speedy and/or skilled players here, and this guy sounds like he fits that mould.
  17. But then to counter that, Viney has better skills and is quicker and more agile. I'd rate Viney higher because of that.
  18. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do Clint. I remember when his father passed and he still decided to play. Gutsy effort. You gave your all for the jumper, and you'll always have my respect.
  19. Evans and Nicholson upgraded to main list. AFL's new Rookie list has been made smaller by 2 spots. We have 4 senior spots left to fill. Likely 3 National Draft and 1 Pre-season draft.
  20. I was wrong, that's why haha! Just had a look at the stats and we were dead last in clearances for the year. For some reason I had it in my head that like 2011 we were towards the middle of the table in the clearances. Very surprising to see the team go that far backwards in clearances under Neeld. When watching this year it felt like we got more first dibs on the ball, but it was a lot of bang it in hope. That being the case, Wines will be the perfect selection, and the likely one. I still feel we definitely need an injection of good kicking skills into the team though. Our kicking skills are abysmal! On a side note, in Daniher's last full year as coach in 2006 we were 3rd for clearances. I miss watching that team
  21. When I posted that we had picks 3,4 and 13. I would've loved Wines, one of Toumpas or O'Rourke, and another quality player such as Menzel, Mayes or Kennedy at 13. Since that point in time we now only have pick 4. I look at who we've brought onto our list, who remains on our list, and I see the slowest and least skillful list in the league. We'll be fine winning ball. Our clear deficiency is our footskills and ability to spread and control the footy. Wines won't really help this. Toumpas, O'Rourke, or Macrae would. That's why I'd prefer we get an all-rounder with kicking skills like Toumpas or O'Rourke, or an outsider like Macrae. That's just my opinion as someone who watches too much football and is sick of us losing!
  22. With defensive depth we have now, Davis is no loss. I do think we should hold onto Jetta though. I like his attitude, and his kicking skills are quite good.
