  1. There are three delisted players which I would consider having a look at to give them a 2nd chance. 1) Jackson Callow from Hawthorn 2) Lewis Taylor from Sydney 3) Liam Stocker from Carlton
  2. I don't think what happened at the end of 1997 between Melbourne and Fremantle is really relevant anymore. But at least a deal was worked out back then. Unfortunately, Peter Bell seems to be almost as bad as Adrian Dodoro to deal with when it comes to trading. It's all about screwing over the other AFL clubs in their minds rather than something fair and reasonable. Nevertheless, I have confidence in Chris Lamb the former police officer. I am sure he has excellent negotiating skills. This is probably more the negotiations going on between the Western Bulldogs and the Brisbane Lions over Josh Dunkley at the moment. 🤣😅😆😂😁
  3. Oh well, if Fremantle aren't going to give us a fair deal we will simply go with what West Coast can offer. As mischievous as it sounds I would love Todd Viney to cheekily say on trade radio that North Melbourne would gladly take Luke Jackson as pick 1# in the Pre-Season Draft if neither West Coast or Fremantle can work out a deal with Melbourne. That will definitely upset them both and mean they will actually have to show "good faith" towards Melbourne. Anyway, the countdown clock is ticking....⏰
  4. Apparently Chris Heffernan barracked for the Demons as a kid growing up? Unfortunately he didn't do much when he was traded from Essendon to Melbourne. I remember that final against Geelong in 2005 when he replaced David Neitz prior to the game who was injured. I knew we were sadly not much hope when I heard that news! 😔 Essendon must have been laughing at us to trade off their leftovers in Gary Moorcroft and Chris Heffernan to the Demons back in the 2000s. At least we are kind of even now getting Michael Hibberd and Jake Melksham from the Bombers. I still don't like that we have to deal with Adrian Dodoro who I see in the same realms as a dodgey used car salesman!😒
  5. Always the ultimate competitor Robbie Flower! Gotta love this little video where he won the Lou's handball competition.
  6. I am actually not against this suggestion. He could definitely help out Sam Weideman how to play as a forward. The only question is would Wayne Carey be able to behave himself? 😇
  7. If we don't end up trading Sam Weideman I certainly think trying Sam as a defender is worth a shot. It's basically Sam's last chance of making it in his AFL career. Unless another AFL club such as North Melbourne or even West Coast wanna see if he will make something of it as a forward for them? Wayne Carey isn't doing much at the moment. Perhaps he could teach Sam how to play more aggressively?
  8. Just been reading with jealous eyes what the Brisbane Lions are getting built for both their AFL and AFLW teams at their new Springfield training facility. Here is the link to the article from a few months ago: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-05-10/brisbane-lions-new-facility-almost-complete-springfield/101050930 This is definitely something the Demons should look to get done at Gosch's Paddock. Anyway, we will just have to continue to be patient and keep bugging both the State and Federal Governments for funding. Unless, someone knows an extremely generous billionaire who has a soft spot for the Melbourne Football Club?
  9. Gary Moorcroft trade to Melbourne was probably the worst ever. Was an absolute waste.
  10. With pick 21# from GWS going to Brisbane it looks like it is "take it or leave it" for Collingwood to accept pick 27# from Melbourne for Brodie Grundy.
  11. Would the Demons be interested in Paddy Dow or Will Setterfield from Carlton? https://www.zerohanger.com/carlton-provide-update-on-fringe-pair-paddy-dow-and-will-setterfield-afl-trade-news-128563/ We could play one of them on the wing perhaps? 🤔
  12. I think this would be the ideal outcome for both Melbourne and GWS. But we will have to wait and see I guess? 🤔
  13. I think what annoys me the most is that other AFL clubs seem to get training ground and facility upgrades and the Melbourne Football Club is basically ignored. There is the falsehood that we are a wealthy club when we actually are not. In fact, we probably haven't been since the early 1960s when we were aligned with the MCC. I guess we just gotta keep begging and to be patient I guess? 🤷🏼‍♂️
  14. Hahahahaha! 😁😆😅🤣😂 I like that deal! Draft picks 6# and 7# would be excellent. A cheeky suggestion by Adam Cooney!
  15. I'm still hoping the MCC will consider putting up a statue of Robbie Flower at the MCG. It would be a fitting tribute.
  16. Tim Lamb is a former police officer who won't put up with rubbish. I expect he may even be looking at his legal options after being publicly defamed by Kane Cornes and called a liar.
  17. An interesting move. 🤔 Perhaps Melbourne will on-trade pick 27# to GWS for Toby Bedford and pick 21#? Then trade pick 21# to Collingwood for Brodie Grundy perhaps?
  18. I am not against trading Sam Weideman to the Saints. A fresh change of scenery may do him good? The only question is what would be a fair trade in return? 🤔
  19. Would love the Demons to snaffle Victorian Campbell Chesser! Unfortunately he has signed until 2025 with the Eagles. So I can't see that happening unless the Eagles are serious about giving the Demons are better deal than the Dockers for Luke Jackson. The only other player on the Eagles list who is a Victorian and would be worth looking at might be Bailey Williams?
  20. Glad he played over 100 games for the Demons. Wish Jayden Hunt all the best at the Eagles.
  21. I still think Jackson Callow is worth a 2nd chance. I understand he is injured but we could always add him to our rookie list? Would definitely be a handy replacement for Mitch Brown and we could see how he develops as a forward playing for the Casey Demons in the VFL. Here is another highlights video when he was playing for North Launceston in his local Tasmanian football league back in 2019:
  22. Aaron Cadman would be a fantastic draft pick for the Demons. We desperately need another young gun tall forward to team up with Jacob van Rooyen. Aaron Cadman's highlights video is quite impressive too. He will go top 5 in the draft though. I personally think Matthew Jefferson is the next best option if the Demons miss out on Aaron Cadman.
  23. Would rather take Jackson Callow as a delisted free agent.
  24. If the Demons miss out on drafting Aaron Cadman who is a top 5 draft pick, it is only logical that we look at the next best tall forward draft option. This would be Matthew Jefferson from the Oakleigh Chargers. Here is further information about him on the AFL website: https://www.afl.com.au/draft/prospects/matthew-jefferson Matthew Jefferson also made the 2022 Under 18s All Australian side. Furthermore here is a YouTube video about Matthew Jefferson oddly enough done by an Englishman: Personally, I think we should seriously consider drafting Matthew Jefferson. Especially if we miss out on Aaron Cadman. Teaming up Matthew Jefferson (or Aaron Cadman) with Jacob van Rooyen would definitely bode well for the future of the Demons forward line. Particularly when both Tom McDonald and Ben Brown retire in the next few seasons.
  25. I am actually surprised West Coast haven't offered pick 2# (which will become pick 3#) in the 2022 AFL Draft for Luke Jackson. Especially as they are desperate for talent and Luke Jackson could team up with Nik-Nat. My only theory is West Coast wanna split pick 2# and with 2 first round picks or 1 first round pick and a player (a Victorian on their list) make an offer to Melbourne along those lines instead? Otherwise, they simply aren't serious about beating Fremantle to get Luke Jackson's services. I am happy to cheekily ask Fremantle for a first round pick and Hayden Young in exchange for Luke Jackson though! In the end Fremantle will need to exchange quality to obtain quality. It's as simple as that.
