  1. Understand where you are coming from and agree. Healy also talks openly how at least 4 others tanked in his mind. Where as Caro, her lack of bringing other clubs into the conversation is a disgrace, as far as I know she has completely ignored Wallets comments that he did nothing from the box to stop a defeat, a clear cut admission of tanking IMO, but as its her beloved Richmond, we hear donuts
  2. Perfect day to announce that there will be no charges, mix the news in with the drug summit occurring
  3. Didn't know that, won't be bringing it up againEd. though it does increase my distrust of Schwab
  4. No need to worry about sponsors, we're doing fine financially. Hell, we can afford $80k on a desk, we're doing fine...
  5. Just a few childish posters. TGR on 'ology loves slagging this place off, some here return the favour. After TGR, there was another prolific poster there that used to slag 'land and its posters off regularly. After a few years of putting this place and its posters down, he doesn't post on 'ology anymore, restricting his posts to 'land.
  6. Are you for real? He's gone off what the Melbourne website says, they have changed what they say, do you think he will continue to go off what the website says, or stick to 78kg. One of the worst attempts to flame I have ever seen, reckon he might be one of many to have blocked you....
  7. Have always found the gloves to be against the spirit of the game. The fact that it has taken so long to test these gloves is an indictment on the AFL.
  8. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, tried to earlier but was having problems with the site, but Colin Sylvia joined in with regular training today, first time that's happened in the few sessions Ihave been too. Looks to be moving well
  9. Gladly post on both, am glad we have two. Different opinions and personalities on both, separating them is a bonus as long term bickering would destroy the one site, at least having 2 sites dilutes this again. 'Ology used to be a fantastic forum, has gone backwards in the last few years due to new members not being able to join, but hopefully, thanks to the great work of a few, it will grow again and have some of the knowledgable conversations that they have had in the past. As for the rivalry, it says more about the posters that encourage it and put down the other site than it does the sites.
  10. Got down to see a short session today. Good crowd to start with, reckon quite a few came and watched the first hour before moving onto the tennis. On arrival, at 9.30, Spencer and Jordie McTackle were already leaving. Jamar, Davey and Hulk only had a short appearance walking laps (ditto Frank Grimes and one of the new kids). At on stage Hogan picked up the ball and slotted a drop punt from an impossible angle, very impressed! Didn't see Viney, Toumpas, Captain Jack and a few others. After warm up drills and close in hand pass drills, we went into some end to end work. Had an AFL field and boundary ump there, they don't get any less annoying at training. Used the corridor quite a bit here, though also had a lot of diddly little sideways passes in last line of defence till they chose a better option - fine when it works, not when it doesn't, as seen by Dunn spilling a sitter in the goal square. Usual suspects frustrated with their kicking. Tommy Mac continues to impress me, though constantly needs to improve his kicking, which is better than it was. Blease and Tappscott initially lined up with the forwards. One of the drills kept seeing one or two forwards grab a defenders vest and switch sides. They used the boundary at times, but didn't hesitate to go up the guts when the opportunity arose. One exercise had 3 teams, constantly rotating one off for a short break, another involved simulating a free deep in defence and having to break quickly to clear it. Last exercise, after many had left, involved end to end stuff with little to no pressure. Overall, looking good but let's not get too carried away, saw a bit of the filth's training after ours and we have quite a bit of work still to do. Bail, doing laps early
  11. Last week, they had cones either side of the ground, effectively marking the corridor and we were doing drills down the ground remaining in the corridor
  12. Of course others consider us a joke. I'm one eyed and passionate, but feel guilty for brainwashing my daughter to be a Demon. We've been a terribly ran club for most of, if not all of, the last 50 years. The last 17 years, we have been a joke, lurching from one internal disaster to another while putting out teams that were generally soft downhill skiers. Who gives a rats clacker what others think, the reality is their perception isn't too far from the truth. If we want to change what they (and many of our supporters think) we need to pull our heads out of our backsides and get our act together
  13. Good to hear, haven't sent him at AFL. WW, also though Couch was very good in match play, like Nicho, just their disposal that's the big worry.
  14. What is he guilty of by the AFL's rules. Not playing Watts enough? Fumbling for 3 mins in a Richmond game? You can try BSing yourself as much as you want, you want a guilty verdict, just for individuals. Don't act like you are carrying on for the good of the club, it's all about him embarrassing you isn't it? Guilty of what rules by definition, please tell me?
  15. But those actively trying to destroy them are putting the ongoing existence of the club at risk. I've been embarrassed long before Schwab came along. Board after board have been embarrassing. I won't defend Smooth, but I have utter contempt for people that will endanger our club to try destroy him for their personal satisfaction - as they (you?) clearly count getting even as being more important than standing up to a corporate bully. Those using this saga to undermine him are even more pathetic than he is. Ed. ps I don't know who you are, but have contempt with your current behaviour. My opinion on Schwab is widely known here, I will express it widely, along with my reservations and reasoning (where you'll find we are not dissimilar in beliefs - but wouldn't consider doing it now)
  16. Better to die on your feet than live on your knees.Try standing up straight if you get back in. Tall an proud. Remember it's the members club, something I doubt any Melbourne admin has ever realised. Ed. it's late and hazy has corrected me!
  17. I'm approaching 40 and have yet to see a board or admin from the Melbourne FC that has impressed me - so if you happen to be an old board member, thanks for the effort, pity you were useless, - if you're not an old board member, disregard. The petty and poisonous politics, the childish, follow the leader direction this club has undertaken for a long, long time is embarrassing. The AFL think they can use us as a punching bag as for too long those that ran the club wore it, did next to nothing and carried on as if nothing happened (who can forget the pathetic response to us doing nothing when Beamer got 2 weeks for almost laying a bump - a disgrace and not by the AFL). Enough is enough, we've never been ran well in my lifetime, are not now, but anyone who is happy for the club to bend over and take it again due to their pathetic little differences with smooth and his mates, is too dam selfish to love the Melbourne football club
  18. Went as well. Spencer and Jordie McTackle doing boundary throw in routines with some coaches early and left. Not sure whether Dwayne is mixing up David with Tommy Mac, as thought Tommy was one of our best on track, watched his quite closely and was impressed with his generally good disposal and loved seeing how frustrated he got when he didn't do things right, shows a will to win we also see from Chip that I love. Jetta will repay the faith I've always had in him. Have never wavered in my belief he could be a good player, we'll see that this year. Gillies and Sellar impressed. Watts wasn't great by foot today, but the hard running between drills and a few other things were he put in harder than those around him was great to see. Similarly, Blease had me doubting my faith in him, till he took Chip down in a tackle and the threw himself at the ball in a desperate second effort. Terlich impressed, ahead of many who have been on the list longer, was bummed Strauss left so early. Neeld walked 2 or 3 laps with Chunky at one stage, wish I could have eavesdropped! The worries for me today were Couch, Nicho, Davis and Bail. The type of players you want to succeed as they have great attitudes and work their butts off, but their kicking just isn't up to scratch. Byrnes and Rodan looked good out there IMO, but was underwhelmed with Pederson. Thought he was just lazy on the track for a lot of what I saw, only making an effort when the ball was heading his way on full oval drills. If Fitzy works his arse off he could beat Pedo for a spot (not there yet - lot to do). Overall, they looked pretty good, but safe to say a truckload of work to do before the season kicks off.
  19. To say I'm not a fan of smooth is not unknown here or on 'ology. But we are being targeted as we are viewed as a soft target. Carlton were much more obvious, other clubs just as obvious. Wallet is on record as saying he did nothing to help them win from the box. Where are their charges? Screw this, I'm fed up with being the easy target, fed up with new rule interpretations leading to our players getting rubbed out ridiculously. The line in the sand must be drawn and we must fight Vlad and his comrades tooth and nail. If that leaves us stuck with smooth running the joint, it'd be a slightly bitter pill for me, but a lot better than laying down, rolling over and inviting Vlad to have his way with us again!
  20. I eat goat at least once a week. Tastes like chicken?? Yeah.... Right....
