Changes v Port
I think there has been some really good analysis here, and some serious questions about midfield and half back in particular. When Trac is in a scoring chain, it is usually successful. However, is he getting it enough? It seems like these areas of the field were the major problem - although there were two other massive glaring issues on the weekend. 1) our entry into forward 50 was rarely to advantage. Too many times we squandered kicks to 'hot spots', rather than seeing the players and their movements and delivering it to advantage. This made many of our entries easy to mark/repel. 2) the lack of switch - were we forced so far off our game plan that we reverted to down the line all day? I thought we were a long way from our best, and we still amassed 91 points. The problem is we gave up too many the other way. I hope they are using the break to think about how we respond. The finals will be all about manic pressure. If we cant find a way to absorb and overcome it, we really will just make up the numbers if we get there. It seems like our best is great, but the gap to everything else we do is pretty big.

Ladder predictor
Early on, most had the Adelaide game as a loss. We smashed them. Much water to pass under bridge, Grasshopper. Some teams will run hot, others will drop their bundle. the pass/fail is finals this year. 6th or above is a gold star from teacher. We turn at 8/4 with a good percentage. Letâs hope there are 6 more in the tank from here.

Perspective: the Tigers lost on the weekend too

We could miss finals with 13 wins
As long as we go into the finals as underdogs. If we go in with bath water dribbling down our chins we will be in trouble....
-
Hunt out for 4 to 6 Weeks
The break worked for TMac and Viney. Perhaps Hunt will be able to get âgame readyâ and come back near his best. By then, we will either have gone forward without him, or it will be too late....

Hunt out for 4 to 6 Weeks
Ben Guthrie reports Jayden Hunt is out for up to 6 weeks with an ankle injury. Bugger.

Post Match Discussion - Round 12
We played bad. Lacked effort and spread, fumbled, had the maggots against us, got bullied in contests and that Isuk Cox idiot kicked 5! Even with all of the above, we kicked 91 points. We lost the game in the middle, and leaking from our forward half way to easily. We failed to switch, we kicked up the line to 2:1s (the Pies ran to make them 2:1s), and let them out too easily. A dark day. 8/4 at the turn, which should set us up to get us into the 8. We will have to do something pretty special to get top 4 based upon what we delivered yesterday.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
When we are winning, he looks good. He struggles to help us win. isolated 1:1 he is burned every time. He has to play the quarterback role, but when they man up and run off him, he is dreadfully exposed.

A great tackle, but fumbled way too much, and consistently out positioned. He might find his feet, but he needs to discover the pace at AFL level.

Post Match Discussion - Round 12
That was poor. We were lucky to kick that score. In summary: we were smashed in the clearances our front half leaked like a sieve. We could not hold a ball in our forward half. we made the [censored] wit Isuck Cox look like a champion. we were completely outworked. Outspread at every contest our skills were deplorable the umpiring was unbelievably bad. Nearly as bad as us. Joel Smith was off the pace Lewis is slow and goes to ground 1:1. He is brilliant when we are winning, but he wonât win us games when we are not. we are 8/4 at the bye. Thank god. The filth played out of their skins. Can see the, keeping it up, but if they do they are a threat. we have to find a way to get energised when we are off the pace. our whole middle tier was really poor today.

Casey Demons v Collingwood VFL - Round 10
Only looking at how the Casey boys fit into our back development. Hibbard is AA standard, and probably will be for the next 3 years - he isnât going anywhere! (I did overlook him because he is a lock)

Casey Demons v Collingwood VFL - Round 10
Or: Lever takes the Lewis (quarterback) role Petty takes CHB Oscar dominates FB Dion understudies Nev Smith, Hunt, Keilty play around these as required. Seems like a fairly sound plan....

Casey Demons v Collingwood VFL - Round 10
We have a few older players who will need developing young talent to cover moving forward. Guys building careers at Casey should not be thinking âI am not in the seniors this week, I should leaveâ. How many games did Tuck play in the Hawks 2nds? if we are building a dynasty these guys should be playing the long game. They should want to be part of something pretty spectacular. we are fortunate that atm we have Casey stacked with developing talent and highly capable depth. We look very low on list cloggers ATM. We also have some great VFL talent not on our list, showing the way.

Alex Rance
More moves than Flash Dance.. olâ Rance. I hate the way the seven commentary team want to idolise everything he does, even whe it is a blatant error. Matt Louganis of football.

But guess what? Very soon the tables will turn, and all of this will be fuel to my indignant (and perhaps partly alcohol fuelled) âgo [censored] yourselfâ to all of these idiots. Also have to remember that they need to fit in one idiot from each of the âbig clubsâ to make readers of the Herald Sun feel OK about their teamâs [censored] performance over their large cup of chino. My âGo [censored] yourselfâ is going to be so loud when we finally get a flag...
