Max Gawn not in Top 8 Ruckmen according to The Age
Hilarious. Add it to the pile. When we burn the place down it is going to be so sweet remembering all the [censored] we were served on the way there. Max not in the top 8 - can someone show that to Max? I think we will see the desired effect....

Match preview and team selection - Round 4
Currently, Frawley has no matchup. He can’t run with Hogan. If we bring in weed, we give him a match up! Makes picking him more complex. Down the other end, they have Roughy. Perhaps start OMac. Lever Gets Gunston and Frosy OBrien. Jetta Gets Cyril cant see hunt or stretch in at this point. So Angus looks most likely. Doubt any other changes at this stage. high intensity game, improved i50 delivery and better use of changing lanes by us. Curb Mitchell by not letting him get the pill and pressure their ball carrier and we win by 20 points. Stand off them and let them use their skills and we lose by 20.

Post Match Discussion - Round 3
After watching the replay for a different perspective from what I got at the ground, there is a lot to like - but still a lot to do - for us to be contenders. We lack outside speed, although Frosty had a few turbocharged blasts, but nothing like BillyHartung was able to achieve. Petracca is gold. Hogan is an absolute beast. Max just went and went all day - what a warrior. We absolutely butchered the inside 50 play all day. We can do this against the Roos, but we cannot do it against the Hawks, and less so against the Tiggers, who will run it out and down the other end for a score. We really need at least one stay at home tall, TMAC or Weids, and the half forwards working off them. We could easily have TMAC, Weids and Hogan in the one team - Hogan got his possessions everywhere, so could be a roaring HF, TMAC and Weids owning the 50. As long as they can also add defensive pressure. The backline will settle. I see our biggest problem on Saturday was allowing Sideshow stager to be one-out. Oscar did well in most contests, but isolated it is difficult for him to win with the UMPs and the way they called (or didn’t call) stuff. Lever was involved, and will continue to improve. We play a very different defense to Adelaide (our press is so much higher) that the intercept game against a fast break is almost impossible. If we go 3 from the next 4, we will be a serious contender. 2-2 and we are mid table. Anything less should not be mentioned when there are sharp objects nearby.

Post Match Discussion - Round 3
Some comments on the match: The umpiring, particularly in the first quarter, was abysmal. It may have been the worst I have seen. Hats off to Jones - I thought he was poor last week, but he was som much more composed and really valuable contributor. Lewis (aka Grandpa) did some good things, but goes to ground too much and stays there. Was not disgraced today. GAWN. Nothing else on this. GAWN. Trac and Hogan - really stepping up. Bugg - heart in the mouth, only butchered one! Kent - showed his value. Ran hard, worked harder. Our inside 50 work was a mess. Early we bombed it to a contest, later we simply overpossessed it inside the arc. If we can clean this up, we will be much better. North are rabble. From about the 6th minute in the last, they were cooked. Majak daw can take a mark, but he is as dumb as a weet-bix with the footy. 4 points. Good job.

GAME DAY - ROUND 3
They put beer on tap because of what Dees supporters have had to endure. Where I sit I cannot ‘creatively vent’ my thoughts (perhaps it is regarded as antisocial behaviour, but Ben brown really is a [censored]). So I will either be up cheering spilling my beer over the old [censored] in the flat hat, or murmuring dark curses into my beer as I sulk. please, Dees. That poor bastard in the flat cap needs a beer shower. dees by 34

Will we break the hoodoo?
We will break it. If we play our game for 3 1/2 quarters I cannot see them winning. If we win or halve most of the centre contests, we should be OK. Max will have a challenge, but can hold his own both in the ruck and around the ground. My biggest issue is how easily they always seem to out-mark us, both from a defensive chop out and moving to half forward to give them an entry. If we can put real pressure on their marking, their disposal is pretty rubbish. We have a better midfield (expect them to heavily man Oliver) and our forwards should overcome what has worked best for them so far - their defense. 2.10 by St Kilda in the first half is still 12 shots on goal, so their defense is not a fortress. Hogan, Garlett and the half forwards should all be cutting through this. Down back they have sideshow bob. We have young Oscar, who looks a lot like Sideshow's nemesis, Bart Simpson. Jetta to get back into his groove, and Jake to prove his value. At 5:45, we should have started a new Hoodoo - Demons first of 17 wins over these fnuckles.

Pedersen v Weideman this weekend
By building him up as a ruck forward he starts to be a really valuable option. He can give Max a chop out, provide a deep option and will be a direct replacement for a Pedo. I see this as a natural progression through the year, as Weids builds, he takes Pedo’s spot. He can form a partnership with TMac, with Hoges feeding them from CHF. I think it happens as soon as he is deemed fit to go. Pedo is then depth for TMac or Weid by the end of the year.

How do we STOP Ben Brown?
Stopping fast ball movement into their 50. If we have upfield pressure and ensure that our half backs work to slow the entries into 50, he can be chopped out by third man up, and can’t get the lead up marks. Best if we can draw him up to the wings (he can’t kick it from there) but assume he will stay at home in the 50. He will get at least 2 goals from free kicks. He has one of the most punchable faces in the AFL.

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
It simply goes against everything that has been said, or even intimated. Resigning to the Dees, the issues and support last year, what he has said, was the coach has said. He was untradable last year, confirmed by the Club and Jesse. it is difficult to marry that up with ‘a current player said ‘. Unfortunately, as honest as you may want to appear, it looks like an April fools troll. what can you offer to substantiate your claim?

Angus Brayshaw
Perhaps he had to complete a game post his surgery to be eligible for selection? there is a lot of guesswork about his non-selection. Maybe someone should ask the question. I’m sure brayshaw knows why. He has shown what he is capable of, and will get back there. He gets paid as an AFL player even if he sits in the stands and watches. Who the hell would be despondent with that?

Listed in the Casey praccie match. Hope he kicks the door down andapplies red hot pressure on those in the squad.

Name 3 good things
Petracca - emerging superstar Oliver - his commitment to the contest in the final minutes - he put his body on the line in one contest that he could have squibbed, and no one would have noticed Ablett's head looks like my left nut (if I shaved it)

Injury List - Season 2018
If TMac is missing, then we can have a forward line of pedo/maxy rotating and hogan, with Fritsch and Hannan in support. We can even send Trac in there as a CHF/FF for a while. We have a range of options (none of which is Frost, TBH), without playing either Smith or Weids. If they are not ready, they are not ready. If we win the middle, keep pressure forward, and hit good targets, it isn't going to be the end of the world.

Injury List - Season 2018
I reckon Paddy has a sore back from carrying them all last year. GEELONG INJURY LIST Gary Ablett (hamstring) Scott Selwood (ankle) Patrick Dangerfield (sore back) Lachie Henderson (knee) Lincoln McCarthy (groin/hip) Tim Kelly (leg) Youngster Tim Kelly firmed for a Round 1 debut after an impressive display against the Suns, although he will be sore this week after copping a knock to the knee. Cats assistant Matthew Knights wasn’t worried about the injury, declaring after the game Kelly could have played out the match. The Cats fielded an inexperienced team that was without Patrick Dangerfield, Joel Selwood, Gary Ablett and Harry Taylor. Of that quartet, only Ablett is doubtful for Geelong’s second JLT match against Essendon this Sunday. Lachie Henderson and Scott Selwood are still recovering from their respective injuries. However, mature-aged rookie Stewart Crameri is a chance to play his former club, and Brandan Parfitt is also in the mix.
