tell me why.. in all seriousness. Im being very matter of fact and trying to give him a balanced plate. Much is made of this concept of "development" Yet no one actually fleshes this out much. Hes had coaching,mentoring, physical and personal training. Hes been played in a variety of roles and given specific task. Some hes done well on others hes lamentably wanting. The reality is much of where Watts is is simply as a result of his efforts; on and off the field. Anyone who reads these forums will have to acknowledge Ive been a big fan of him. Essentially I am, but I wont be an apologist for him. 5 years in the sytem. He ought to be established by now...not ...oh wait a whiles longer...etc etcs

OD I dont think its entirely honest at all.. Seems its all a one way consideration. If he were truly honest hed probably utter something like "Im a prodigious talent yet to realise my potential for a myriad of reasons including less than ideal ardour of the contest and inconsistent efforts and application to the task at hand. Despite this I want to consider my options which will be heavily influenced by my preference of senior coach. I reserve my right as an employee to weigh my options." The club ought to consider its.

mate I think we're close but as though on parallel train lines Ive been in situations where ive been offered more money and it just didnt work out. If your heart isnt in in it becomes a lie. Workplace environment.. Now heres something. I can see this as being perfectly valid as a constituent to ones demeanor. Not the cause, just an ingredient to it all. in Jacks case , the club presents ( probably as a bit of a pigs breakfast ) a less than homogenous environ ( currently ) Though one would tend to think a direction is palatable.. Its not just a coach though. Its the Board, its the FD in its entirety , the training facilites etc. Jack will have no say in any of this and yet its really just the coach apparently he's waiting on ?? Again goes to the desire for the magic wand effect ( for mine ) I think what irks many is he isnt that bloody good he can command such special distinction of platitudes etc. I think hes putting his cart before the horse...imho

I dont see it as anything to do with remunerations. I see it as everything to do with drive and effort. He can be good, and its sterling and he can be bad and its often. This guy ought to be personally sponsored by Russell ( the yo-yos not athletics...lol ) I get the impression Watts is waiting for the magic bus, the one with the driver and onboard help that will be the missing pieces of his personal jigsaw. Im finding it harder and harder to counter this line of thinking. Id really like to think he does have it in him. What irks me though is this notion of 'who the coach will be " as if by that proclamation he will find incentive and inspiration to step up. Jack..its all about the self. Its not what others will do for you its what you will do for yourself. If you cant get that through your thick sconce then NOTHING will magically invigorate you son.

Theres a subtle difference between players playing through the midfield as course of play as opposed to players being the boiler room type mids instigating clearances and such. Neither Trengove nor Grimes are the latter and thats a role theyve been pushed into result...epic fail

If hes not fit , he ought to have stayed in the magoos and waited til a good preseason under belt. Someone else playing his possie wouldnt have changed any game outcomes. For someone touted as having ready to go AFL skills hes a bit underwhelming. I dont think the many are writing him off at all. Hes ours, wish him good luck and hope he can deliver on his potential. am sure he'll be a better than half decent player...one day..sometime. All some of us have suggested was he wasnt the right choice. Hes not a wet behind the ears kid whos simply played schoolboy stuff ( ) hes already had time in senior footy.and as such was expected to be a little more with it than exhibited to date.
