Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
beelzebub replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I too find an aspect to the article rather misleading in so much as it only referred to a dozen or so. Surely nearly the whole list bar a few were actually a affected by the mengel-like regime's experimental practices. Id be thinking more than 12 ought to be worried. -
Always had a bit of a soft spot for the Aints being a bayside dweller but they are seriously a very odd club. I said last year I expected them to slide in 14 and see nothing to dispel this thinking. Much pain awaits this lot.Might cause serious harm as well. Don't take much to cause them to implode.

if that News article was submitted as HSC exercise in clear thinking it would fail. Full of errors and illogical argument. If I were Fish and Chips Id remonstrate before being wrapped in it !! "and questions over the legal status of AOD-9604. ummm No there isnt. "Whether bans could be pursued over AOD-9604 use is also unclear. In its Drugs In Sport report last year, the Australian Crime Commission determined it was not banned." The ACC are the arbiter in this regard.Their opinion is irrelevant to the infraction. And this is mischievious as this isnt the actual case as per theACC Robinson ...stop now.... -

has Georgiou actually been lifted off the rookie list yet ? If not he obviously wont be fronting the Aints ( more the pity ) I see no reason why Viney wont get games once hes fit...hes no newbie and must be salivating at the idea of playing with these guys Yes Roos has said what he has about kiddies but he also ( somehwere ) made an interesting throwaway re JHK that some players just force there way in. Watch that space I reckon All the clues will be in the team that plays the sqawkers....it will only be tweeked after that for round 1

NAB Challenge 2 - Melbourne v Geelong
beelzebub replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Tom Macs disposal still worries me. I dont think you can really afford to have abysmal kicking in a team that aspires finals....just saying. Over all I agree its a quantum jump from last year. Had it not been we'd all be wrist slitting I suspect. It was a NAB game... to be taken with a pill or two of reality but it showed some things are working and many a work in progress....and as such thats fine. We came up against a well oiled and drilled machine and we made them work and kept them honest and really had it not been for half a dozen gifts to them the outcome might have been different. We will improve....its al upside really for us. We have 5-6 of the eventual likely best 22 to return, so further inroads are not just possible but likely. Perspective. That was still only the SECOND hit out "under fire" for this new Dees team. There will be mistakes, there will be a few steps back as we take strides forward. Roos is no doubt sorting the list. Hes giving some opportunities to show why they might be retained, Again...its NAB ,,,it is encouraging though -

Wouldn't surprise me if the compounding pharmacist is the lynch pin to all this. -

of course they can, and will This is more about the players and their responsibilities, the rest are really just dominoes. -
My view on the whole sordid episode was that CW saw an opportunity to one her objects of pathological hate to the sword and all that followed was simply fuelled by this desire. All that followed was simply bent or fabricated to suit this outcome. To me she lost all credibility as a result of this blinkered character assassination on what she considered a personal nemesis. A very spiteful act. There was opportunity to take to this subject in a very level and holistic manner but she made it personal. In footy parlance she went the man and not the ball.

CW's focus has always been a bit more about certain individuals more so than even a 'club'

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Dank is somewhat relying ( imho) on the reluctance of others as much as his self to appear in a court room lest all hell let loose. Dank is also ( imho ) placing far too much import on his position and ability to dodge the inquisition. He may only think the inquisition has passed him by where as in all likely hood its been shadowing him all along. Upon this appearance of untouchability have others it seems placed their faith of evasion ( hearing me James ? ) My understanding ( happy to be corrected ) is that WADA/ASADA can happily utilise anything circumstantial ( much like the French system) and it will be incumbent upon the individual to prove innocence. If the players cant prove they WEREN'T participant , that they didnt take the prohibited substances but something more innocuous ne 'safe' then they may be in for a whole lot of pain. -
that was then and this is now

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
beelzebub replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
No i dont think it is at all. Im leaning towards a hypothesis that builds upon the notion that whilst Danks is indeed very central to it all, as he would have to be what he may or may not bring to the table in terms of help in all these dealings may not be of the nature many would think or hope for. I.e I think his involvement would only cloud and hinder the process, at least at this time and position of process. If, and granted a bit of a largish if, ASADA have garnered sufficient information as to allow them to move forward with notices without Dank's impedance then his value to others is not only diminished but his own position becomes compromised as he wont know what they have on him yet. Again whilst Danks is central he isnt actually the target per se of the infraction notices in the main. If the ACC and other depts have been able to put together the jigsaw between them then many ought to be very very worried. Hird it would seem has been very reliant upon the non co-operation of Danks. This may become moot. The whole debacle does not rest upon Danks. He just figures largely. As mathematicians have long known you dont need all of the information directly to extrapolate accurately for missing values. -
was it an error indeed...or an intention sentationalised slur to beat up things? Those who summise she happens upon a few snippets of actual relevant info and then dresses it up with dross are for mine closer to the mark. Ans where were her insightful and as damaging pieces on her beloved Tigers ? yep shes a balanced and unbiased reporter for sure..............not

You're getting close Red -
The actual consideration of players such as Strauss is come renewal time will they justify the taking of a list spot having showed not a lot, or does the club refresh with another pick. Given there has to be an amount of turnover then easily the least impact players are first on the endangered list. James would be on it currently . Its up to him to show otherwise. Personally id be surprised if he were still a Dee in 15

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
beelzebub replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am damn curious as to the whole Danks non event but as some others suggest it might have been left alone for various reasons. Certainly one glaring aspect about all of this is the reticence of any party to date to go any where near a court room. One suspects there are just too many skeletons and much too much dirty laundry to even begin lifting a lid without fear it in some manner might not return to smear the instigator. No one is without guilt in some manner in all of this. The AFL...a total fail in all of this. Seemed far too preoccupied with protecting its brand and the power of certain individuals. Essendon, just about as morally corrupt as any entity can be. Still Cronulla appears worse at their involvement but more circumspect fter the fact. ASADA seems inept and amateur in all of this, totally out of their depth. WADA ..must be shaking their head in dismay as so much can come undone. Various media hacks have shown their true colours and inability to preserve perspective let alone the subject of bias That said it does appear to be finally drawing to its inevitable conclusion......i.e there were some naughty boys and 'spankies" are the order of the day. whilst Danks may escape this round of the inquisition I cant help but feel a larger spectre looms over his head. what ever is going to happen is it seems more than likely to start rolling out over the coming month. Then it , to this observer, becomes inevitable someone will instigate legal proceedings and then at that time a whole new world of hurt will unveil. Start looking for who starts making themselves scarce and who looks to other fields to further their careers... rats and ships !! -
Interesting comparison....really...Rivers v Sylvia One tried very very hard on most occasions had great ability to read the ball and limited abilities to use it. Damn good 3rd man in defence though despite limitations and costly clangers. On over hand the other despite precocious ability and great skills could hardly get his arse into gear without serious nudging unless of course it was a looming contract that might incentivate. Seem to take th game on only ever in spurts and only ever when it seemed to suit and did so only in a particular fashion which often wasnt the best for team play. I dont feel sorry for Col, nor do I hate him...hell I dont even rate him that high. Dockers have bought a lemon...more fool them Go Dees
