As a sort of aside to all of this the real gem of reality I see as bottle-able is that in the past we hung so many hopes on this player or that. These were our saviours, our only real hope of success. Hogans not on the park...and.... Mitch has left the park ....and ..... a handful of other things havent quite gone the expected paths. But we're still here and not just bumbling along we're actually getting somewhere , albeit slowly, but we are. I'd love to see Hogan on the park this year but if he doesn't,,so be it. Not fussed

I'll just ping away with a few observations. Viney is General in waiting. Very good reader of play and very forthright in communicating it during training. Interstlingly he apologised to grimesy at one instant where he obviously thought he may have overstepped his ark.. in reality he hadnt. Why on earth Tappy hasnt stepped up...aLas its all there Watts still needs 5 kg or thereabouts. we didnt see the mesiah there..might have been ..just didnt see him. Something I noted.. i dont think we play on nearly quick enough. in the match simulation and drills there seems to be an instruction to play on where you can. Some of our guys ( sorry, and honestly ) telegraph, still, their intents. . This has to change.

No order and no ranking. Didnt see Hogan anywhere. Dawes seems very VERY keen. Salem is silky. We struck GOLD here Im still seeing a bit of wayward kicking and unforced inaccuracies at training. Im also seeing a lot, LOT, of spark in players.. Some players frustrate with ability at training and not reproducing under pressure. team trains vastly differently... i'LL hand over to anyone else who went and fill in as I remember cheers

Just an observation. Those thinking he is OVER his depression dont understand depression. He may well be in a better place but a dpression SO bad to cause one to retreat away from a loved and chosen career is NOT fixed in a few weeks.

It is going to be very interesting come the next TV rights auction. As WYL correctly ( imho ) gives the nod to, TV aint what it used to be.. The whole comp relies so heavily on this money that it would seem the next round of bidding may well prove the most important in history. The delivery model will be different and the whole telly industry will need to adapt or perish. Adapt is indeed the requirement of the future ( isnt it always ) If keeping our beloved QB stoush means a 3.20 start then so be it. At the same time however I would question whether TV numbers will prevail in the nature Seven wants. People are so enslaved these days as to be unable to switch channels

Thats a fair call really I suppose even though I do have a tendency myself to want players to rejuvenate in the magoos. Having said that Roos has made a point of saying those below wont come up til they absolutely deserve it. The counterside to this is those in the seniors might get a stay of execution until someone rattles the chain mercilessly. Two players Id love to see regain their pizaz .Trengove...and Grimes. They were genuinely abundant in promise and deserving of their draft picks but I couldnt say weve got value just yet. I take solace in the fact that all of a sudden Pedersen is a player. Even Watts seems to be clicking ( if somewhat haphazardly ). If this can occur then surely the 'whisperer" can perform his magic on Grimes. That would be a marvelous result.
