  1. bloody better be talking about the clash.... Our Home Guernsey is sacrosanct. and i dont mind the emblem. but a "logo" might be an entirely different thig
  2. What you may term Scapegoat many others view as "his turn under the spotlight" Under Roos quite a few players seemed have found a yard or two ,indeed some a complete change of thinking. They have stepped up. Grimes doesnt seem to have done this, if anything its a rocking back and forth between slipping and regaining some form. No one is ( think ) particularly looking to black Grimes for a loss etc but in the new Roos world all players must play a role and play it well and play it 100 % of the game. Not all of what Grimes achieves is at the fall of the ball etc but he seems less able of late to do many of those little 1% type things that set him apart. He's no longer apart and indeed hes very much lumbering along. A 6 season veteran ought not be making some of the clumsy mistakes and what can only be seen as brain fades as he has this year. Im somewhat aghast really at this as I previously thought he was a "general' in the back able to cleverly devise something out of nothing and in his earlier days often drove us out of trouble and straightened us up into rebound attack. The guy currently wearing 31 seems an eon away from the one I remember. If he is injured he needs to be fixed. If he is stale he needs to go back down and rekindle and reboot. He is of course to be persevered with...but not at the expense of the rest of the team, nor the efforts or results due the others for their development. JG is like any player...a cog in a larger machine. He has to have a purpose and do it well or there is no place, for he will have no role.
  3. No I should think theyd actually be rather buoyed by today ( and a good rest )
  4. I'll preface by saying I know little of today. A handful of years back two blokes came to us and showed a bit . Jack Trengove and Jack Grimes. Both were illuminating. Today. JT struggles with injuries and JG struggles period. Both CAN play. What to do with Grimes...? back to the Magoos son and relearn your way. I cant think of anything else. We need our best 22 on the park and I just dont think hes really in that ...now edit..Best 22 ROLE players. Grimes doesnt do his role too well currently
  5. Didnt see any of it or get to hear any. Working on site. Checked scores occasionally. I take note a few players had less than glowing day and yet if you take away the first half of first quarter where we we a) asleep b) bamboozled or C) hadn't arrived yet we actually went toe to toe with the ladder leaders....umm no..just edged them. What an amazing result. We still have more than half a dozen spuds...I mean eos write offs but all in all not too shabby a day. Would have loved an upset...came close. We're getting there at long last
  6. They still dont quite get it do they Essendon’s immediate future remains in doubt on and off the fieldRobinson, (god knows how he's the chief scribe ) trots out yet another biased and coloured version of history all the whiles still pushing the "oh Essendon's the victim" line. They bloody did it to themselves Robbo
  7. would we be allocated seats or rock up and lob?
  8. RIP Ralph used to live across the road condolences to his daughter Libby and son Chris Ralph was a very amenable bloke, very approachable, very low key about his Dees days. Ralph made many advances on behalf of the AFL..or VFL as it was when he went on board sorry to hear ;(
  9. We are oft supposed to take the stance that every game is taken on its merits. Are we likely to beat Port....possibly not. Is it totally implausible ? No...definitely no. Footy is oft a strange game and strange things happen How anyone can say for cert anything is amusing
  10. just when you think this thread can't get any weirder
  11. sounds ok...might have to book
  12. Im not sure theres really much to argue in amongst this. it , for mine outlays exactly where we are with ol' Trenners. Nobody wants to write off anyone and much of a supporters lot is what really borders on blind hope. Imho Jack will start off behind even where he began his Melbourne odyssey. Hes been hit by a lingering injury with only what is given as a "ilkelihood" of total recovery. I dont think its unreasonable at all for some to suggest theres really not too much to get excited bout here. In amongst the typical debate come battle between observers is the reality.. Put aside what we'd all like him to be , where is he truly at ? Remove the sugary coatings and off the rosey glasses as some suggest and its not too flash.
  13. They really just dont get it. And for that very reason they should be smacked almightedly.
  14. We should just leave at this
  15. alas,....effort and results dont always go the way of desire
  16. its a bit that way really isnt it
  17. In respect to an earlier post a category of weakness mentioned. I'd respectfully suggest an inability to take the park in the peak of fitness required to play to his ability is the unfortunate reality. Love to see this kid re-boot as it were. Showed immense potential as warranted his high drafting but its been hit and miss since.
  18. Im confused...would you have preferred THOUGHTFUL Pervert ?
  19. shhhhhhh what happens in Geelong ......stays in .....Geelong
