Shoulda..... coulda...... didn't I was very upbeat and confident against the Filth. Ostensibly we have the "game" to do so. We still do. What we dont have is the finish. We're figuratively getting that horse to water..... but.... Strangely enough the scoreboard only ever reflects the finish and not the rest of the work. I dont see how we win now. I see how we compete. I see how in the game-general we'll play better. I dont see us presently capable of finishing off all the hard yards with a winning score. We should be able to but we don't. Here's food for thought. How long as a collective here have we bemoaned our forward structure ? Weeks ? Months ?? SEASONS ??? Have we EVER seen a properly functioning fwd line week after week ?? What we see is a direct result of instruction....it can be nothing else. Two things arise from this ... the Forward structure setup is cactus.... not by accident...but by selection and coaching. It can be nothing else otherwise it would be different. If the intent is actually different...then the coaches are useless ?? Any which way... its only about 10-20% players.....rest is by design. Its that bleeding obvious

I dont really like pinging players... i dont... but should you play a professional sport, and geven more if you don the Red and Blue then you will come under scrutiny. I saw something last night i really didn't like. The teansgressor is young, raw and obviously not accustomed to the fury and gusto that is finals footy. But it occurred in the last quarter... there was very much to play for.. He was one of several Melbourne players either encircling a particular contest or part thereof. In footy when its either your turn go.or you're johnny on the spot... you MUST go...you must contest. In this instance...he simply stopped. I was aghast. Hopefully he never does it again.

There is pretty much one single common denominator among all the discussions, all the ideas of fixes, all the ..well..alls.... lol We only had to do ONE thing a bit different and we'd be holding up the cup. It doesn't need clever strategies...it doesnt need this bloke or that added to the list. It's so remarkably simple It's almost laughable. You just need to kick straight.. We kicked ourseves out of the game, out of contention. Whether we think one style of play is better than another or not... had we in many a game and ESPECIALLY last night kcked straighter. We win. Let that sink in. Only one thing and one thing only affects the scoreboard.... accuracy when opportunity given. Im not going to say we choked ( but by god the resemblance is uncanny )... but we only needed two wayward kicks to be on target...and we win. All that hard work and we can't hit the side of a barn... ... and not the first time. Why this happens must have the highest priority for fixing. Everything else can stand in line behind. Kick straight..... who'd da thought.....
