anyone know what Gil's views might be ?

Given his history ( PR ) was this ever in doubt. Wasnt for me.

If he were to stay ...yes to pretty much all.A winger for sure and tell him to back himself and use his pace. I would also sens him for some 1 on 1 with our co -tenants and Im not talking the round ball lot !! If he were to stay. I'd still trade him, but I concur with your sentiments.

I think what we saw on the weekend was very symptomatic of a bunch of whom there are more than a few question marks and more than a few self realisations they are for the furnace. Some have given up....on themselves. Some are no doubt tired of the journey so far and its taking a toll. Some are fresh to this particular grind and still have it in them to fight. Some had there minds elsewhere for sure. probably only half turned up to actually give 100% on the day. Not because it was any actual decision to just because thats where theyre at. I saw some hurt out there. I later saw an image of Gawn, wish i could find it....He was gutted, borderline crying.Just empty. Not everyone quite seemed this way. Some just seemed detached, some even looked half glad the pain was over. Max looked angry, not nearly enough were angry. Well , not on that side of the fence !!

Evans hates our guts...just sayiing

robbie13..it will take 2-3 years to get our team HAPPENING in a week in week out purposeful manner. What do we do with Jack...just wait ? Theres the notion of moving walkways and the most effective way to get from A to B is to change walkways as they change their speed, thereby always being on the most advantageous one at that particular time and opportunity. The best value , for me , from Jack is what he may bring to the trade table.. If nothing else its also the most fair thing for him. No ones winning presently. Only change , will change !!

Actually the problem is that we'd be satisfied with a player just because he CAN kick. yes there are a lot on our list that cant . What this says is we've got our criteria as to what we need very very wrong. Jack is well skilled but is far from a good footballer . We have some who are good footy minded players but lack the basics. We arent getting the raft of requisite aspects as to players right at all, well seldom and i suspect more from luck than good design ( in the past ) Jack is a problem, but he's not the only one. We need a different type of player.

I think what may or may not drive this as a potential is what interest ( if any ) is shown by other clubs. Id be amazed in the MFC weren't at least open to hearing offers even if not putting a "for sale " sign up. Id also be surprised if Jacks manager hasn't already fielded calls. Jack , as well as the Club need to have a good long think

Does Melbourne deserve an AFL Priority Pick ? asks this scribe from The Aged. Well everyone's asking it. What annoys me is the article starts of quite balanced and then falls off as they all seem to. One particular area that was cut adrift was the notion of injury(s) The AFL changed its surrounding the priority pick early in 2012, with a formula which takes into account premiership points, percentage, finals appearances and injury rates for a club over several seasons now in place to determine whether a selection is given. The Demons would appear to fulfil nearly all the criteria for a pick, having won just 38 games since the start of 2007, a period in which they will have finished 15th or lower on the ladder five times when this season ends. Here is , for mine, a very valid area of discussion in relation to PP's . We came into this year with a sense of promise and were all very eager to see Mitch and Hogan line up and provide some real weaponary at the pointy end. Indeed some other clubs in their vehement disapproval of any PP last year pointed in this direction. The reality was history shows Clark hardly got on the park. Great Hope #2 , Hogan wont don the guernsey this year . Trenners has been nobbled by injury for quite a while. Spencer's out. In fact you could , with a bit more time, put together quite a list of lost talent overt the last 2-3 years due to injury. Yes all clubs have them but we've had more than our share I feel and if this area of 'injury' is to be accommodated in any consideration of a PP then it must be acknowledged, even by our opponents. I don't like the flavour a PP leaves in one's mouth but we need help. Many suggest we're in a rebuild I'd contend that's not quite right, we're still in BUILD mode we've never got near a good list for a long long while. You have to have had something of note to 'rebuild" we don't. We need players, real players , not a collection of 'works in progress' we need at least another 6 journeymen players. Not stars but good reliable capable types.. They will provide a core for the new kids to form around. To get them we'll need to trade and to trade we need picks of value, hard currency. We need a PP, at least

My own view is that "it's time" We aren't getting anywhere. Jack's not really getting anywhere. The Jack Watts MFC journey for mine has stalled. Sometimes you just need to reboot and get on with it. I honestly feel what would be best for Jack is to get to a new club , start afresh and just play the footy he can as well as he can. As long as he's at the Dees he 's always looked upon as 'that " #1 pick.. I think we can give Jack a lifeline with a trade and we can bring into the club someone new who we can deploy into a different role perhaps. Something needs to change because it's just not working.

Does he stay or does he go ?? Even ol' Slobbo casts it out in the public arena as a question. Does Melbourne trade its #1 draft pick And from my cheap seat its a valid one, one we have all danced around or with for a while now but at this Season's end the FD have some hard and gut wrenching decisions to make about our list. To me this isn't about any particular personal allegiance or like/dislike its about nuts and bolts. What is best for this club and to give respect to a professional as to his future here, or eslewhere. I have my own view but will put that as a separate post. This is not a witch hunt or scapegoating its a legitimate question. Give it some thought Yes it's 'another' JW thread but maybe we can put all our thoughts here as well as allowing a vote to see where this group feels the situation currently resides. Thankyou

ASADA /WADA have a strict protocol regarding the procurement and verification of evidence. As a follow up their due dilligence runs it past a number of 'test of validity" and is then further proofed for the purposes of prosecution. I.e By the time they get around to issuing SCN they have something more than solid. I'm surprised they didnt contact you Jnr for your opinion -
bottom still possible

on its own ...maybe as part of some kind of package it ups the value somewhat. Better than nothing

priority pick may not be until the START of round 2. That may be politcally palpable

Jackson would be lynched had he not done the diligent thing and ask. Yes we're that bad. Yes it's embarassing Yes we need to turnover our list Yes, this would help. Such is life...Bugger
