PREGAME: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
And.. Schache is an AFL player... ..played in Grand Finals and everything....true dinks. I don't understand the scorn and derision of this guy tbh. Of the 3 Tmac, BBB, and Shack. ... who is better shape...better form ? By all accounts recently kicked a bag of 4 on a day abd a ground not suited to talls. Yeah ...a real hack that Shack. I really couldn't care who any of them are. Im not trying to have a kick to kick with mates...... I'm just supposing who might be the most useful player to have out there doing a role. And someone not carrying a niggle( at best ) ... someone who can pinch hit in the Ruck... go forward...or if need go back. Hes not fn brilliant....but hes non too shabby either. He's done the graft and hard yards... hes been seen worthy as a sub.. Well... sub him in ffs.

Firstly... i think youre doing Shack an injustice by being so dismissive. He's no A grade... a pretty solid B ( or thereabouts )... and speaking of problems we have a serious one up front. All well and good when one of Tmac or Benny are up and about.... but they aren't and then Fritter and Roo cop heavier attention. If the club doesn't think hes anything...why have him. He's an experienced Forward. His defence experience affords him decent savvy . He's not ideal perhaps. Whats your answer Jade ??

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
Well.. the Brains Trust has hardly faulted. He must be bloody good....and will want to be. History suggests the strike rate on these "gems" is low. We need to get this draft and next right... not getting much of a look in for years after. I'll park my thoughts/concerns and get back to reality.

Tasmanian AFL Team
Not necessarily true at all. The roof is the roof... Depending on orientation of tiers the ground need not have a larger footprint. Depending upon the elev used for the playing field the stadium doesn't need to soar skywards. 23k seems a waste of time and money. No future proofing there.

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
I think this is the question . I know there's this procedure/protocol of longish stints in the magoos , then teasing extended bench selections. Sometimes surely pragmatic common sense must be employed. This is , imho, the exact occasion you'd bring Shack in. Neither BBB nor Tmac are good enough form/fitness to do justice to being on the field. If we're managing them ( or whatever ) then there's still a need out on the ground for a capable competent role player. Shack may not be the Bees Knees but he surely qualifies 10 steps ahead of the other two choices atm. A fwd line with Shack, Fritter and Roo will sorely test Norf. Shack , in the same manner Tommy did does not need to kick a bag to be useful. This is the ideal game to see what he can bring. Reckon he might grab the opportunity with both hands . Or.... we scratch our heads wondering why he's here.

Certainly validity here.... that said the Giants have never been adversarial towards us. We may even be able to help each other ;)

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
If the Dees did that they'd have shown they've/we've learnt nthing. And that's simply not the case. I actually think we're among the more savvy and wiley in this league. Segway ...for a moment. The introduction of the 19th club... The Devils ( not sure how i feel about that....the name ...lol ) With they're being ushered in comes 3 or 4 years of seriously compromised drafts. This years draft and maybe next are our chance to snap up and bank some talent before the well goes dry. You're not going to load up and throw all at 36Red ... no no no I sense we will fanangle a creep up the positions..but highly doubt an 'all in' That for mine would be daft

What they are saying at Arden Street
Seems to me many an opposition seem to. This game is as much between the ears as it is ability. I'm not convinced we're quite there mentally. We should be a 10-15 goal better team than this lot. Have no doubt Clarko will spring a trap. We need to snuff out their exuberance very early or it's another dog's breakfast.

I think we've seen the experiment's results...jmo. He has excellent craft down back....and just the other side of sfa up the forward arc. Just seems terribly list most times. It's quite odd really. Fine reader of the ball but doesn't seem to translate from one end to the other.. I stand to be corrected but Neeta was a swing player capable of both ends but played most earlier games as a fwd.. .. at Melb he went back as a CHB but returned to his natural forward slot. Harry is no Neeta.... very few are ;)

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
Yep....horses and courses. He might well make for a left field shuffle of the magnets in a game whereby all the widgets and stars align to make it a workable ploy.. Other than that he is a key link in the fabric of our defence. Experiments..... we can meddle elsewhere As they say.... Harry in defence aint broke...let's not 'fix' it .

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
Well.. A few ducks and drakes to be had here. Lets start with what might seem the glaringly obvious issues. Who stole May's favourite toy ?.. Give it back ....he's worrying about something. We've seen in the past the club will play him half-dead ...but he's a few years older... he needs a freshen up..( badly ) Come on down.. Disco .... Here's an opportunity to dance your dance. Harry Harry Harry... sometimes we need to just play to our strengths and not reinvent wheels. Harry ...youre a very VERY good backman...and fits well into the "backline up " That's where you belong. Roo boy is fab... it's far too early in his career to have him carry the can. He needs experienced help. The first choice would, in the not so distant past, be Brown. He's sore, out of form...( a consideration maybe ) .. Tmac... his function is often misunderstood. He's quite a pivotal forward link not just a kpf... but...but... he's way off ideal currently... still looking for experienced players who CAN impact. We're running thin now. Josh me lad... grab this game...shake the tree... take the heat off Roo... bring your A game. Kozzi Kozzi, maaaaate.... need to bring your game back to earth... the wax is melting. This IS a game to do two essential things.... play OUR footy...but with a bit more verve and intensity.. and go back to mixing it up especially on kicking out. We started the year ( preseason and such ) confusing and stretching oppositions by NOT setting up with the LEFT hand kick alone...we're falling back into many bad habits. Im happy to swap out Bowey ..especially this game. Laurie perhaps .... An advantage of playing Tmac was/is he can pinch hit in the Ruck. In playing the Shack he can do similar... easing up the load on both Max and Grundy . That's not Roo boy's role. This wont be a shoo in . We need to respect all teams, and especially wiley coaches. But this isnt playing the Pies. We can take a half step back , reload . Goodwin has already admitted we're still experimenting in a fashion. This is a good game to revisit ideas and players.

Alice Springs Match
Maybe the problem is Alice... Alice.. Seriously though, all guff aside it's always been my view that the cental totem to many a country/ regional locale is their sport. It's often interwoven into the fabric of the towns. What little i know of Alice's problems they seem greatly whitewashed ( hmm ...leave it at that ) by the towns governors. Many locals ( business, support etc etc ) all seem at loggerheads with the Mayor and Co. We as a club don't need to solve the problem The AFL doesn't need to solve the problem. Its our game...bring it to the G
